NellieOleson hope your peanut feels better soon. Sick babies are actually the worst. We have schools closing around here for the flu because so many kids are sick. I just want to hide all of us until it's over. ETA and I realize none of this anyhing to compare with what snd is going through. Worrying for you baby when they don't feel good though is definitely a unifying thing. So I hope we all have healthy babies soon.
I'm assuming H stopped to pick up dinner for himself and the kids. He's 25 minutes later then usual getting home, and there's no news about traffic being backed up on his drive home.

dizzycooks, hugs mama! I've felt the frustration and it's hard for me to tell myself to walk away and take a breather when DS gets like that. But if you can, that is what I would suggest. Time outs from each other is sometimes really needed. I've also found that when I have done or said something I don't feel good about, once we are all cooled down, usually at bedtime, I talk to DS about it and apologize for how I behaved but also don't excuse his behavior and we talk about how we can both do better next time. I think it is important to show our kids that we are human and we make mistakes and when that happens we apologize. I think over time they can learn a lot from that.
I was wrong. H stopped to get my birthday present. Then my BFF picked me up and we went for burgers, to the craft store, for ice cream, and then to Walmart. I bought H's birthday present while we were there. It was so nice to hang out for a few hours without the kids. Now I'm working in my crochet project and waiting for bedtime (for us, not the kids)

DD2's bday party with her preschool friends was as chaotic as expected yesterday, but overall it was good. DD2 seemed happy with everything, so I figure all's well that ends well.
I have so much going on this upcoming week, so I'm working really hard to finish one last project right now (as you can see by the fact that I'm posting here ). On Monday we'll meet with DD2's preschool teacher for a "development talk," which they do once a year just to give the parents feedback on how the kids are doing. From something the teacher said last week I have a feeling it's not all going to be positive. And then Tuesday night is an open house at a special class (kind of like a first grade prep class for kids who aren't quite ready to start 1st grade yet) that we're considering for DD1 for next year. I'm a little anxious about both things.

Happy Saturday! I'm making blueberry pancakes, pears and sausage. We have no concrete plans, but plenty of options. I'm trying to figure out how to get some time alone and get my house cleaned up. It's going to be warm out so I think a long walk is in order.
My kids hate sleep. This is clearly divine retribution for me getting up at 5 for like 6 years straight. My mom is coming to get us early today. Thank goodness. Maybe I can sneak a nap.
Happy Saturday ladies! This is my next to last day of my beautiful week of being a SAHM. Monday is going to suck but I'm trying to ignore it. MH and I had a date night at a newly opening spin studio last night. Awesome workout followed by cocktails and no need to do my hair or wear makeup. Win in my book! Today he's on call and busy so E and I have been hanging out. It's 75 degrees, sunny and gorgeous here. Planning to walk to Starbucks when she's up from her nap.

Sounds amazing! I'm glad you were able to have this special time with E.

DS had flag football this morning and now I'm grabbing a salad to eat while DD naps in the car before her Gymboree class. I just started taking her last week and she loved it. I'm enjoying having a structured activity to do with her. H and I are going to take turns taking her. He always took DS when he was this age and he told me how much he's missed it. 😍

The kids and I are at my mom's for the day as usual. I'm so tired. I could nap. We're watching Footloose (the original, I refuse to acknowledge the travesty that is the remake) and M is loving the music. S is playing nicely at the table by himself. It's sunny and chilly here, so we're mostly staying inside. S and my dad might go out to play for a bit later.
We had a little horse show at the barn today. It was a big success. Just got back from dinner and I am ready to crash. Looking forward to not doing much of anything tomorrow!
We just got home from my mom's about half an hour ago. Both kids are in bed, and I'm about to follow suit, it's only 9:10. I feel like I'm 90 going to bed this early, but I can barely keep my eyes open. I'm just waiting for H to get back from his munchie run so I can relax when I go to bed.
