What's happening N15? It's quiet up in here lately.
Tonight we have another Kindergarten meeting for DD1; this time just for Montessori. Not sure if anybody here has any experience with it, positive or negative. Montessori was privatized where we loved before so I don't know anybody who's had their child in it.
DD2s bottom right premolar finally made it all the way through. Thank goodness too, because that child's temper is fierce enough on its own.
So pregnant and lovingly over it. Hopefully no more than a week and a half left, just one early child would be cool. Also trying to remind myself this is the last time.

I was just thinking about you! Fx the last week or so go smoothly!

Hi all. We're at Great Wolf Lodge for the wknd with the kids. They love it. I'm kinda take it or leave it, but if course in saying that, this trip was for them.

I'm sad if all the action is on FB now! I miss you ladies!!
DD has her top 2 molars in. She is also tall enough to piss lots of buttons, like this morning she turned on and started both the washer and dryer with nothing in them! Ha
We chose a daycare so that will start in a few weeks. I'm really looking forward to it.
I'm super anxious for my period to just come so we can TTCA. I was hoping I'd have a normal cycle AL, but I know better so now I'm just waiting any day.

Hi ladies! littleredfish we have DD in Montessori. I mean she's only 15 months, so keep that in mind, but we LOVE it.
There are so many little things that they do with her that seem to be paying off in a big way, from eating, sleeping, signing, etc. I don't have anything else to compare with, but when we move we will absolutely be continuing with Montessori

I'm glad to hear this. I've been looking at part time care when we get to 18mo at a Montessori school near work to get Emma socializing and give her something to do.

BOO FB! I'll probably have to cave and move over eventually. I'm way too devout to you N15s. I'm about to give birth and am only now posting regularly on F17.
I wish I could take part in a gtg. Canadian mommies should unite at MommyCon Vancouver. I'm excited there's a Canadian convention this year, and totally going.
Montessori was a neat experience. I love that they focus on a lot of DD1s weaknesses. Like independence and self directed learning. A lot of their main tenants are things I'd love to see her work on. On the flip side, French school is also important to us because we're from QC and I'd love for her to learn a second language at a young age when it's easier in case we ever got posted back there. Why can't there be a French montessori program to make my life easier?

We are pretty awesome!
I'm the lone Canadian heading to Nashville (from AB) so I'm going to corrupt them all with talk of toonies and Tim hortons.
When's mommycon? I know flutterfly88 is in the area. We might be heading to Van to visit friends this year too.

July 22nd I think. I'm trying to convince another mommy friend to go because I'm currently going solo 😭

ldubhawksfan what washer do you have where buttons are in the bottom???
We push all the things too. Lately is been turning on and off the TV.
We have a LG front loader. Not on the bottom but just high enough for her to push them. Evidence of her "loads" yesterday. She can reach up to the blue lit buttons which are on and start.

we also had to put the Dyson heater for her room (we rarely use the furnace for the large house) on the dresser because she figured out the button on it would turn it on. Not risking breaking that expensive thing!

DD has also started cleaning. I don't know what that says about me and what she is mimicking but she will take a wipe or a napkin and start wiping the ground. It's pretty adorable

What is this MommyCon you speak of? I'd totally be up for a CDNmama gtg! Vancouver is not far for me.

B likes to push the buttons on our washer too, ours has a button lock, so he can press to his hearts content (unless their is a load going, the pause button still works when the lock is engaged)

Think ComicCon, but for diapers and carriers and baby stuff and no cosplay lol. I've never been to one since it's never come to Canada but I've heard good things.
ldubhawksfan DD2 cleans too. She's obsessed with the dishwasher and likes to help empty it even if I'm filling it. Then she has to close it and push the button and make a humming sound to mimicking it starting. If she sees any spills on the floor she'll say "mess" and wants a towel to clean it up (read smear into the floor).
All this talk of Montessori had me spiraling on things I could do at home with G. I gave myself anxiety seeing what he "should" be doing at this age.
Don't feel bad, doing the tour of the school was daunting for me too. The 3/4 class had Ted Talks playing and they were learning about atoms. Then I went to the K class to feel better and they were classifying animals into their Kingdoms, learning geometric shapes and learning about nouns/adverbs/prepositions/etc. I was like WTF, I was excited my Kindy kid can count to 100 already.
