I'm in my second day of a really intense training on race. It's been fascinating and uncomfortable. Last night I had to complete a white privelege worksheet with a person of color and compare our answers. I'm nervous but ready for what today brings.
Going on day 3 of a cranky toddler and I have no idea what's wrong! I just want to fix my baby! Spending mornings and evenings listening to screaming the whole time is not how I want to live my life.

All I have to say is that going to work is awfully appealing after the morning we've had. And it's not even the baby throwing tantrums, it's the miserable nearly 4 year old who apparently didn't sleep enough and will be taking a nap today.
The stomach bug finally hit me. I'm luckier than most in that it's not very severe, but I was up half the night with cramping and diarrhea and now I'm at work early looking haggard as f because my big boss is working from my office today. I wish I could take a sick day.

laurie12820 that was us yesterday! It was so warm out but the sky looked eerie all day. Today we are to be getting snow starting at 1. It is suppose to get nasty here quickly and the evening commute will be particularly bad.
Luckily Ds's school is just a couple miles down the road. We will be staying in today.
Also H is in Nebraska right now and he's supposed to fly back on Thursday mid-day... Right as the snow is at its peak. So I don't think he'll be making it back. Which wouldn't be a big deal EXCEPT we're supposed to be flying to Florida Friday morning. Ugh what is life.

My boss is letting me wfh this morning for a bit so that we don't have to keep the dog kenneled for 10 hours today. I have to go in this afternoon for a meeting, but that's it. This is great. Tomorrow is my regular wfh day too. So glad my boss is flexible and understanding. She's a single mom too and loves rescue dogs, so that really helps.
In other randoms, I really want a toasted english muffin with butter for breakfast, but I have no butter in the house. Sad sad day. Living on caffeine I guess today.
@wafflesfriendswork, We went to the playground Monday and Tuesday after daycare to play because it was so nice, and this morning I didnt have to wear a jacket...Im going to cry tomorrow. Stop being such a tease, weather!!
My dad is coming to stay, finally, this weekend!! He'll arrive some time Sunday. My mom's been here since June, and she's so excited to be reunited for real. I tried to warn her how hard long-distance is, but there's really no way you can know until you go through it.
AFM, AB wanted nothing to do with me when she woke up in the MOTN, but couldn't get enough Mama this morning. I know it's totally normal for her to be madly in love with her daddy since she's with him all day. It stings though and breaks my working mama heart.
I am floored that for my entire 33 years of existence I have never wondered what type of bird Big Bird is. According to Wikipedia he is a canary: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Big_Bird

Would you take your kid to the doctors if it was the fourth day of a cough that sounds kind of barky and has him vomiting all the time from coughing so hard - AND - there's potential for a big snowstorm which would probably snow you in/close the doctors office tomorrow? I am torn. Oh, and I'd have to install a car seat in and borrow one of my dad's vehicles because my car broke down last night, and H is leaving for 3 days for work as soon as I get home from my OB appointment.
In other news, it has not been my week. Is it over yet?
S has an EI intake visit on Friday. I went over the paperwork over the weekend and watched what S was able to do. It seems like she was on target for most of her motor skills, but her speech is not all the way there. I guess we will find out on Friday, If they think it is necessary.

If its a barky cough I would probably take him him. I suppose its not acceptable to send a voice text message of him coughing???

We have our eval on Friday as well. They didnt give us any paperwork to look over. I wish they did so I could be a little bit more prepared, but oh well. A is in the same boat as S, great motor skills, but slow speech development. Good luck!

shawnabm1320 - Barky cough, I try to take in. Especially if there is a chance for bad weather and possibility of not being able to get out in the next few days.
rayann687 - Good luck on Friday. I really think Noah needs EI for speech too, but his pediatricians aren't concerned yet. He's on point for motor skills and receptive language, but speech, yeah he's not really talking much. Great at animal noises and maybe a couple consistent words.
2 snow days and now a 2-hour delay today. Shortest week ever! This morning I'm (finally) taking Charlotte to her 18 month appt and then off to work. Basically 2 1/2 work days, the weekend, 3 work days, then Disneyland.

Yep, I'd take him. Might be nothing, but I'd rather know before being snowed in.
rachydc, goodluck to A as well! They sent us a packet with an 18 month questionnaire. I'm not sure if it was because I had here evaluated previously in the past, or if that is how they do it in NH.
360blessings, S is similar. She repeats a few words, but cannot really ask for something or express herself. She doesn't really seem to be picking up many new words at all. Our pedi wasn't concerned at her 18 month visit, but I have seen little improvement between then and now. Since she will be 2 in April, and has the preemie factor, I felt it may be time to re check her to see if she is at a point where she needs EI.

rachydc google 18 mo asq and you should find the initial one we used. If they were behind on that one then they did a more comprehensive one and since he scored low on that one too he qualified
We have 18 month shots this afternoon. I'm hoping E takes them ok and that they make her feel too sick.
MH just got his visa approved to Hong Kong. He's going to be gone for the whole month of March. I'm not really sure how this solo parenting thing will go, but I've got my mom coming for the first week and I was able to take every Friday off work to take care of errands while E is in daycare.

W slept until 9:30 today. Probably because she was partying 3-6am. Finally when she passed out, on me, I wake up hearing J and her mom coming in. Then as soon as she walks out, SO's alarm goes off. I also got the worse pinch in my neck when moving in my sleep. Old lady here. I think we are about to go to the gardens for a bit to let the girls play. I need to get out or I may run away without children.

So sorry! My DD who is also almost 4 had a night like that when I got home from work yesterday...it was awful!
