Here's C with a ridiculously awesome onsie. Yes, it's Chewbacca riding a velociraptor.
Nothing much going on here today. My brother might be coming by to visit C since he's home from school for a couple days. He said yesterday wasn't enough so I told him to come over today. It's funny to say "home from school" because school is only 25 minutes away but he's living down there and usually busy so we don't see him much.
Both kids are awake but we're all still in bed. DS is just playing in his crib in the other room, and D is laying with me, just gurgling and being adorable. My nanny doesn't get here until 10 so I want to stretch this out as long as I can. Cue a little mom guilt but DS has been so friggin' needy and clingy lately that I relish this time "alone" (quotes because obviously I'm not really alone if D is with me).
I'm meeting up with some ladies from my moms group later to go for a walk since it's supposed to be 55 today! Group starts at 1:30 so we're meeting at noon. Should be fun!
Aaand DS has now changed from happy playing sounds to whining "huggie Mama" over and over so I guess it's time to go pick him up. Let the clinging commence!
Morning! Since going back to work, things have been go go go and I haven't been around much. Just another normal day at work for me and then home with the kiddos tonight. Hopefully DS won't be as much of a crab this evening as he was this morning, but I think he was just tired from being up at 5:45am. Trust me buddy, I'm just as tired as you!
We had a really intense storm come through seemingly out of nowhere last night. There was s lot of damage in our area but thankfully all our trees stayed upright this time. We had a bit of debris down but nothing major.
We may meet my parents for lunch today but otherwise no big plans. DH is going on a guys trip to the NC mountains this weekend so I'm taking the children to visit my sister/BIL in Charleston. I should probably get started on some laundry for that!
Here's Miss Caroline. She's figured out how to lift her shirt up this week and it's her very favorite thing to do.
I had surgery on Saturday and M would not let me put her down. So... Sometime last week H accidentally got water in her eyes. It didn't phase her at all, but Monday I come in from getting her PJs and he had this on her head And finally, we put the RnPs away this weekend and put up the high chair. I put her in it just to see what she would do. So stinking proud of herself.
I wish Sephora would sell a product that will give me my daughter's eyelashes.
Anyone else getting that baby lash envy? They're gorgeous!
Yes! I have always had really long eyelashes. DS's lashes at 2 years old are thicker and darker than mine ever were, and D's are already longer than his were at her age (did that make sense??). Point being, I'm pretty sure she is going to surpass us all.
Lol those pictures are all priceless sophiegrace, but the one of her in the surgical cap is just too much!
If she wants to start with on the job training so mom and dad can retire early, it's fine by me!
For real. Wasn't Doogie Howzer the TV-child physician??
B loves golf--watching, playing, etc--and I fantasize about him being the next Jordan Speith. We can just be golf parents and follow him around the world watching him rack up titles on the private jet he'll buy us
Woke up to 2 inches of snow and about a quarter of an inch of ice. Baby slept in mamaroo while I plowed and shoveled the driveway. Second day alone and it isn't that bad! I wish I had someone to hand him off to when cooking, cleaning, etc. instead of putting him into a rocker of some sort. I have L's 2 month checkup and shots, I need to go food shopping but only for 6-7 items! Also must pick up 2 luggage rack. Busy afternoon for me!
Well after skipping their prior nap and raising hell, my babes are currently at the 1:30 min mark in the current nap. And am I working? Course not. Just sitting here taking a break from all the crying.
We're supposed to get snow dumped on us tomorrow so I'd like to get out of the house today. And shower, I'd like to shower please.
Here's the reason I drink (jk of course, I'd drink anyway):
I'm sloooowly getting better finally. Yay. Lillian had dance class and then I braved the grocery store alone for the first time. We lived! And got the groceries. Lillian actually was really good and stayed in the cart. Unfortunately, Lilah had a huge 5 wipe blowout and I suddenly had to go to the bathroom halfway through. I made it home thank god!
I'm about to make us some lunch and then I'm going to try to get Lillian to take a nap. I'm also thinking I'll let her finger paint and play our back later.
tgrimes1980 Lilah tolerates it sometimes, but mostly she just still just cries. Now she's rolling onto her side from her back and gets upset which is odd. I'm like, if you like being on your back to play with your toys, why are you trying to roll to your tummy which you don't seem to like?
waitwhat I know!! Lillian's are much darker like mine. Lilah's are that light crystal blue like her daddy.
Is my kid the only one that still hates tummy time? Like, he doesn't even bother picking up his head, he just cries. Ha ha ha.
That was Bradley. He never liked it, and every time was torture. Finally, I got a cheapo mirror to prop against the wall and he liked staring at himself, and that was eventually what convinced him to roll.
