No snowed in we actually didn't get any snow at all, they thought we might but it missed us. It's still chilly wet and insanely windy so we are inside today.
DD is making me crazy with the patent refusal to listen. Gotta love two year olds. It's funny she clearly remembers past directions, like to not step on the dog bed when dog is on it and will continue to obey that direction no problem. It's the please turn off the water and get out of the bathroom that gets a 'no'.
DS is doing well the last two nights after several rough ones. Sleep was so bad my friend sweetly surprised me by getting me a zipadee zip to try. I cried at the thoughtfulness. I am still looking forward to trying it. I think DS doesn't really care about the snug ness of a swaddle anymore but his hand still wake him up so hopefully this is a good happy medium for transitions. And he can roll in it no problem.

We're getting a little bit of snow. Just a light dusting. It rained like crazy on Tuesday though. This winter is so bizarre.
I'm just catching up on my shows and snuggling with my napping baby. He has been sleeping amazingly well overnight lately so I'm scared of what's to come.
Nothing else on the agenda. Just need to do some laundry and try to clean up a bit.
DH texted me yesterday while on shift telling me 5 guys went home sick in a matter of 8 hours all of them throwing up. I told him he can't come home if he gets it and he can be homeless for a while. He was supposed to get off shift at 7am this morning and I haven't heard anything from him yet. Do not want that coming into my house!!

Working out the kinks with my mom watching O. She leaves me notes and yesterday she only gave him 1oz of breast milk btw 630am and 1130am! Say what?! So I told her he needs a full bottle every 2-3 hours. He's never really had a schedule I just follow his cues while also watching the clock. It's apparently more difficult for other people to do... also the 1oz was to get him to nap. Um no! Do not want to start that habit.

We had snow Monday and a little more yesterday morning, but the rain took over and the snow is all gone.
Nothing planned for today. MH has basketball tonight and won't be home until after bedtime. I might try and take the boys out to lunch. I can't wait for spring to get here, I need some nice weather days.
aggiebug Right there with you on the 2 year old stuff. I swear I hear "no want ____" more times in a day than anything else. She'll even say no to a cookie just to be contrary. We've also got the multiple tantrums a day thing going on, too. People with older kids, that stops eventually (soon?) Right?
jubilantsquirrel How often does it snow up there? DH and I are visiting this summer to see what he thinks (obviously knowing the summer is the best). I'd love to move up that direction someday. Texas is a bit too republican for my taste, even Austin (though it's easy to find like minded people here). But I do hate snow.
waitwhat I've noticed a decided lessening of the spit up lately, too. Maybe they're just getting bigger and outgrowing it. One can hope, right?
No snow here or even rain, but we did get a little cold front. It's been in the 80s and today it's 62. It feels like it should be Friday, but it's not. I guess that's actually good since tomorrow DH is going out from about 6:30 until who knows when with a friend to drink and see a movie for his bday. I'm hoping my mom can help out, but her SO is having issues with a hernia and may be having surgery. We don't know yet.
I did manage to get out and find DH a bday present. I got him Nate Silver's book The Signal and the Noise. DH loves math and statistics and he follows Silver's website FiveThirtyEight so I figured it would be up is alley. Otherwise I've just been trying to stay sane with two sniffly, fussy littles and my own still on-going cold. My face hurts from the sinus pressure. I'm ready for bed.

ClassyMrsA, not too often. This is the first winter in about 3 years that we've had measurable snow. But I would say we probably get a couple inches twice a year on average.
This area is so pretty! Are you thinking you want to move to the Seattle area or just the PNW in general?

PNW in general. I've been to Seattle and some of the surrounding area (my mom and I drove around Olympic National Park) and Portland. Washington is probably my favorite state I've visited. We also went to Victoria which I loved. Obviously not in the US, but being near Canada is a big selling point for us. Eta: We've been researching different places up there. We are both teachers so we'd have to get certified in whatever state we are in. Definitely open to suggestions for places to look into.
ClassyMrsA we probably have about 4" right now but it's only just starting to come down hard. I've heard to expect 12-18" before it's all over.
I'm really tired today even though D slept great again (8:50pm-5:25am and then back down til 9:20). I told my nanny to stay home because of the weather so I've got both kids and for the first time ever they are completely opposite with napping today. Meaning, no nap for mama 😞
I did, however, manage to get in my workout and also cook a bunch of stuff for the next couple days as well as dinner tonight. H is working from home but I think around 6 he's going to take a break to make pizza with DS. I'm looking forward to bedtime tonight!

You should check out Bellingham. It's a college town, but it has a lot to offer, is close to the boarder and a lot cheaper than Seattle.
I would stay away from Eastern WA if you're looking to avoid snow and Republicans, both are abundant on that side of the Cascades.

Oh my god, the tantrums. DS's new favorite thing to do is start screaming "NO COOKIE!!!!!" when he tantrums. Like, it doesn't matter what he's tantruming about, he always yells no cookie. I'm pretty sure he's telling us that we can't have a cookie.

We're still tantruming over here. I think it's gotten worse since she turned 3.

I'm sure it's not funny but omg I'm dying!
Honestly, I have to try not to laugh. It's pretty hilarious. The tantrum is annoying but the no cookie part cracks me up.

jubilantsquirrel That's hilarious! Lillian copies whatever I say, she just adds a "no" in front of it. Once, I was putting her in the carseat and she was flipping out. I told her to stop acting psychotic and she said " no acting psychotic!" I was like yeah, I'm glad we agree. She'll also sometimes try to copy what we say and can't so it's just no followed by gibberish that kind of fades off.

ClassyMrsA it's probably due to N's arrival amplifying the behavior issues combined with me not having energy to properly handle them.. also he is getting bigger, so my default of picking him up and removing him from situation as a last resort is getting harder.
jubilantsquirrel yep I'm sold. Seriously with the basketball court? Like what does one do to afford a house like this? I want to live their life for a week.
Right?! Redmond is home to Microsoft, but really who knows.
I could kill my DH. I started the bedtime process nice and early tonight and had J down for good at 10. I went to bed myself. My H came home at 12:30 and felt it was necessary to tap me and wake me up and ask me a million questions...what did I eat tonight, what time did I go to bed, what did I do? And so basically woke me up. And he is now snoring his stupid head off and I'm wide awake. Cool bro thanks. 😡
Ugh, not cool Mr. Waitwhat. That type of behavior will not be tolerated at the compound, he'll just have to pitch a tent out back.

Ohhh, this house would work too. I think I like the style of this one more. It does has less bedrooms but don't worry, I'll take one for the team and sleep in the wine cellar.
