Hi ladies! I'm up I'm hungry and couldn't fall back asleep. Also we fell asleep at like 9:30pm last night.... after going to bed around 10:30am, waking up at 5pm, and just being globs on the couch we wee both so tired from our overnight shifts (poor DH did a 30hr call in the ICU) that we just accepted it and passed out on the couch. Then moved to the bed at 10:30. Only we ate dinner at like 7, so of course I woke up at 2am STARVING! I forced myself to stay in bed and go back to sleep but 6am rolled around and my body was like NEWPPP. So I finally dragged myself out at 6:30 and here I am!
I'm so over the constant nausea but thankful bc it helps me think baby is still alive. Catch-22, sigh. I wish we had a Doppler just to double check real quick.
I told my parents yesterday morning and they were so happy and crying,it was sweet and made me happy. They struggled a lot when we lost the first baby, that I'm so worried something is going to happen now and they'll fall apart again. But telling Them I was so nervous and then it was all good. Now I'm debating on whether or not I tell my sister or we just wait til March bc I'm having too many feels about February and this week specifically, already.
I'm eating oatmeal. I had some yesterday and was like why is this the best thing ever?? I didn't dump as much sugar in it this time so it's not as good, but I'm trying to be healthier 😏
muscari that pizza toast sounds delicious. I'm craving pizza so badly but only from one place that was too far for us to drive last night. And tonight is breakfast for dinner (DH is so excited, I can't push it off another night) so maybe I'll get pizza on Sunday 😭
I've never seen that type of sauce before. I may go hunting for it at the store today, haha!
I've never seen that brand of sauce before muscari my favorite sauce is newmans own, can you find that in your stores ? I have a sleepy husband in bed now. He just got home from a long shift. We had a nice long talk before he went to bed. Hopr you have fun with your mom. I've been to tired to keep up with the housework too. It gets tackled on the weekends when my husband helps me.
I don't think Newmans is a brand we can find in stores here! It vaguely rings a bell so I think I have seen it during my stint in the States back when heh. One good thing about being up way early was that you were able to see YH after his shift, then! I hope he's sleeping soundly now and will wake up rested. You could join him for a nap lateron
My mum just left to go home, it was a short but nice visit. And we got our groceries for the week sorted together heh. It was crazy busy in the store so it was nice to not be alone. We were unexpectedly invited over for dinner at a friend, so I won't have to cook dinner tonight yay. Just hoping she's cooking something my stomach agrees with lol... if not I'll just have a little bit to eat and make a salad (or some more pizza quick toast;-)) when we get home Gotte keep the pregnant tummy happy!
addymac, will respond to your post later when I get back home! Forgot the time and we gotte jet or we'll be late at our friends! Tis been snowing here so we want to take plenty of time to get there with the bad roads and all.
I got to sleep until 830 this morning! Also, first night in months I didn't wake up to pee in the middle of the night. And I found the baby with the doppler right away this morning. Here's hoping it continues to be such a good day! I'm off to work in about an hour and all the patients should be exhausted from their full moon shenanigans yesterday.
Now that I am done throwing up (for now--2 days puke-free!) I want to eat all of the things. We had pizza for dinner last night and I just reheated some for lunch. Yum yum.
@kelsz12, great news! I hope it continues for you. I start to have waves of maybe feeling better and then it passes and I'm sick and nauseous AF all over again.
I'm craving a charcuterie board so badly. I just want to stuff my freakin face with prosciutto, capicola, salamis, whatever. Ughhhhhhh and throw in some spicy tuna rolls. 😞
@xamountofwords, tuna should be fine to eat as long as it's been heated properly and you don't eat it in huge quanitities, right? And apperently there's a special pregnancy-safe tuna brand: Safe Catch Elite. I hear you on cravings though.. I would love some really good sirloin right about now! Or a nice piece of toast with brie...
muscari I think she may want sushi tuna . I have been all over my 1 per week allowance of tuna salad though!!!! Yummy Brie....
Ahhhh! I honestly hadn't a clue what a tuna roll was tbh... LOL. I am not a sushi fan! I guess those are made with raw tuna then? I haven't had any tuna yet since my BFP but now that you mention it.... I think I'm gonne have to make me some tuna salad for lunch tomorrow nom!

Heh PepperPottsJ is correct, muscari. I usually take advantage of my tuna allowance but I am craving the raw tuna roll. 😭

Ladies my midwife said if I microwave the sandwich meat for 30 seconds on high it will then be safe to eat. Idk if this is true or not, but H and I totally bought deli cut corned beef tonight and made reubans. Granted I always fry the meat and then we cook it in the oven, so it's plenty hot. But I thought for those longing for prosciutto at least there is hope!
Nope! I was in Houston once years ago for a sorority conference. Never traveled for work before!
Well, if you get the chance to visit Austin, take it. So much nicer than Houston, imo.
I was in Austin back in September! My husband traveled for work and we tagged along. It was really nice and not what I thought it would be! There was so much to do in and around the city..

Maybe this is a UO but I eat deli meat while pregnant. It's not like I'm eating sandwiches every day but I just make sure I get it fresh sliced from the deli or from a reputable sandwich shop. However I also eat pregnant safe sushi and drink coffee while KU so I'm a walking rule breaker.
I've eaten a few deli sandwiches with boars head meat and have sliced turkey from Whole Foods at home right now for a sandwich but I haven't touched subway or jimmy johns. I (and my DH) just are overly cautious. I did have a little bit of a charcuterie board last week and that's when my craving intensified. I made DH eat the rest very quickly or I would have stuffed it all my mouth and it was an unhealthy amount even for a normal person lol. Sushi- not gonna bother unless it's a veggie roll or cooked (I heard eel is cooked? Is that true) bc I don't trust that the Midwest can have preg-safe sushi haha

Same here! I'm not eating salami or meats like that just turkey. Also coffee

As long as you heat the deli meat before eating it, you're fine. Heat kills listeria. So if you want subway or wherever, just tell them to put it in the microwave for 15-20 seconds before putting it on the bread.

I've fallen into a pinterest hole. We need to add some handrails to make it more accessible for DS while he's going potty. There are some pretty neat ideas on there

Samesies. I was overly cautious my first pregnancy, and now I'm like "eh" on the deli meat. I also get the Boars Head brand. I live in Denver and would kill for some sushi, but I don't know how I woukd tell if it was reputable or not...? If it doesn't smell fishy?
