Hello! It has once again been a while since I posted out here, but I figured I'd try and stop by more often since I'm also taking a peek into O17. Got a positive pee stick this morning, so lots of cautious optimism going around my house today! Hope you all have been doing well~
Ahhh!!! I'm so excited for y'all! Sticky baby thoughts your way!
@mrspanpan, Poor little guy. I'm sorry you guys had to go to the ER but I'm glad he was checked out. I hope the zofran is helpful and that he's feeling better soon.
So I went to the dentist yesterday and I was right to be afraid. It's not good news. I have a deep cavity in one of my molars that is going to need a root canal and a crown, but before that can be done, the wisdom tooth behind it needs to be pulled. My anxiety is at an 11 about all of this. Like, I am seriously freaking out.
Wisdom tooth extraction is scheduled for Thursday. I have to decide whether to have local or general anesthesia. My insurance won't cover general anesthesia so it will cost an extra $300-500, but I'm afraid doing it with local anesthesia may be traumatic.
Has anyone here had a wisdom tooth pulled with local anesthesia? How was it?

aydee I don't have any experience with that but I'm sorry!! You will be glad you took care of it after, but I'm sorry there is so much anxiety with it 😞
Ah man, aydee, you cant catch a break. I was out for my extractions with a general.
I noticed a small discolored spot on one of C's teeth tonight so I've been going down the rabbit hole of googling toddler dental caries and feeling like a crap mom.

We talked about dental health at my early childhood class this week. Cavities this young aren't very common. Hopefully it's nothing
Guys battle axe throwing was such a blast! We had a group of about 25 people, had teams and different tournaments! Even with allowable booze, no injuries! Today I'm going to get my lashes done, have a norwex party and need to work on the course development. But first coffee!

aydee, I had all of my wisdom teeth pulled with just local + laughing gas. It was fine. I had the choice, and I chose local because my thought was there's always a risk, however small, going under so I wanted to avoid that. They told me to bring music and headphones, which I did. The laughing gas made me feel super goofy. At one point I was accidentally biting the surgeon's finger and he asked me to let go and I just started cracking up and wouldn't let go. So, basically, pain wasn't an issue. Just embarrassment after the fact at being a weirdo.
And of course they do give you painkillers for after.

Current plans: coffee, spin, church, putting together as much as possible from IKEA so we can finally finish unpacking, reading and commenting on student responses to an assignment and finishing up a project for an art show on Friday. If you see me on here a whole bunch tell me to get off and get back to work!
Need to catch up! We had a ton of fun Friday night at the medieval feast. Didn't get home until after 11. Kaylee ended up in our bed at some point. H and I were both exhausted yesterday.
I don't know what my child is doing to her earrings. Lost one of her original pair earlier in the week. Lost the back off of a pair on Friday. Bought new pairs yesterday. 😒
aydee, good luck with your dental work! When I had all 4 wisdom teeth removed a few years back, I did general anesthesia.
We are telling both sets of parents/siblings today that we are KU. Neither side has any idea we were trying, unlike with O when they knew we were seeing an RE. I'm really curious to see how they react to the news, hopefully positively haha.
We're putting O in a shirt from Carter's that says "Awesome No. 1 Brother" and hoping it doesn't take too much time/pushing for them to read the shirt. I want to try and catch their reactions on video like we did when announcing our first pregnancy, but it will definitely be trickier this time with the less direct way of announcing, especially if they take too long to realize.
But the kids did not sleep in. H is working down by Disney for the next 3 days. Solo parenting here I come.
Grocery shopping already done. Laundry going. Dropping off 5 boxes of kids clothes to Goodwill, returning the last of Christmas presents to toys r us, grabbing a few things from Michael's, cleaning, dinner and sleep. I'm already exhausted from typing that.
arimaythea , how far along are you?! Congrats too!!!
Thanks! I'm fresh out of the 2WW, so I guess 4 weeks? We spend way too much time with both sets of parents, especially with them babysitting O, to hide it from them for very long. Plus, they would be my support network if things were to go downhill, so we're telling them right away. We'll be waiting to share the news more publicly until closer to 12 weeks.

aydee I just had a molar extracted with only local. It wasn't as terrible as I was expecting. I was numb so no pain. The cracking and pressure is a little unnerving, but it's the aftercare that really hurts. There are other sedation methods. IV sedation (awake but out of it), pills you can take beforehand that make you goofy, and nitrous.
We're going to the IL's today for lunch. I'm still freaking out about C's teeth. I feel like I need to night wean her stat.
I've read that nursing really won't cause tooth decay. It's bottles or sippy cups of milk at night that pool on teeth. But that being said, I would still freak out if I saw discoloration on Ns teeth.
I'm still chuggin along on my thesis. I am bringing the rest of our baby gear to the city with me because I sold it. It's so crazy to think we won't need it!

This makes me feel a bit better. Not to be gory about this, but is it obvious that they're ripping a tooth out of your head? I'm not sure how well I would handle that whether I could feel it or not. How much bleeding is there?
I'm going to call on Monday and ask if Nitrous is an option.
