We were on topic for 10 pages. I'll call that a win
Agreed. We will work on determining the availability of the suggestions in this thread that make sense with our vision and any other suggestions added, then creating another short list with the top 2 or 3 names from this poll to narrow down again. Honestly, even with the off-topic discussion I think we are MUCH closer to finding the right name. Some of these suggestions are really good.

Perhaps the next poll should be "blind" so people don't vote with the crowd.

I'm going to let wordsy make the next poll. She's better at it and thinks about things like that. I've already demonstrated that I should stick to the tech things and not make polls, lol.
At the risk of sounding negative without offering alternatives, here are a few ideas that I think could work (or hopefully at least inspire some of you more creative folks): -Onesie - the one stop place for everything from conceiving to pregnancy to parenthood... and everything in between -The Mom Project -The Parenthood Project -Honest Moms -First Steps -The Nine Month Myth
Ohhhh...I kinda like "Onesie".
ETA: HAHAHAHA!!! I posted late and am just seeing all this drama. Too funny, but I'm serious about Onesie. LOL

Isn't the word "onesie" owned by Gerber or something?

I was curious, had to go check out humantrafficking.com. It redirects to PolarisProject.org. I really like the idea of SomethingProject.org. I think it seems legit if it came up in search results even if it doesn't directly say baby/mom/family. Now to find the right Something. I'm thinking maybe mythology that eludes to fertility and childbirth (Hera, Isis, Venus, etc) and could also work with @rama's crossword idea. Must think some more.

I actually really like Parenthood Unplugged. It seems a bit more "raw" and less puppies and rainbows and auto-tune.
I haven't read all of the pages here, but I also vote for this one, Parenthood Unplugged, over all of the options presented in the poll, and some of the suggestions that I saw in the comments.
The thing is, I would go to a website called Parenthood Unplugged at any stage in my parenting journey. But if i were a newbie in the potential parenting world I would probably shy away from a website advertising "snarky" in its name. And the stork story is a myth we tell children, so if we want to present ourselves to the world as a place for real facts and honesty, we should also avoid the implications of a stork.

Yeah, let's go with ISISproject
What, you don't like the EvilTerroristProject, I thought that was a winner!

I might be wrong here, but I took your comment as incredibly rude. I think it's awesome they care what we think and are letting us be a part of decisions like this. What site have you ever been on where you get a say in how things are run/done? I feel honored that we get to do things like this and are all able to be involved instead of them doing things behind closed doors and not communicating at all like The Dump.
I'm sorry if it came off that way. That was not my intention at all. I agree with everything you said. I think this place is awesome, because the admins have done such an amazing job setting it up, maintaining it and talking to all of us about it.
I just don't think that it's fair to them for us to say that it's their website, therefore they should work hundreds of hours for free getting it going, covering all of the costs involved, donating proceeds to charity but still expect them to put big decisions up for a vote by the community. I think they are amazing people, because that is the plan they have described in the future of the forum. But I do think that they deserve to be paid for the time they're putting in. And I do think that if the community wants to be involved in all of the decision making, then it makes sense for the community to also help fund the initial costs involved.
I see where you're coming from now. I guess I just thought you were being unappreciative of what they let us be apart of, but I understand what you were trying to say.

I kept thinking Conception Connection or ConnComm.com (connection, community, conception). I get that folks who are ttc have not conceived yet, but that's the goal so I feel like it still fits.
Totally different direction but something like coffeehouse chat or connection - something without parenting in the name but then give bylines that would come up in a Google search for parenting, ttc, etc...
Sorry for being lame and on-topic. I realize we've moved on.
