I'm going to be a grinch of a parent and hold firm on my "no presents for kids on Valentine's" stance. We got them each a heart balloon and a festive chocolate treat. I hope DS doesn't resent me if he finds out his friends got more.
My Dad gave me a really good bottle of wine this weekend. I need it to be 6pm so I can drink it. Yes, my best and only Valentine's present was from my Dad.
My dad is the sappiest valentine. I love it. I always remember his valentines texts "there was a beautiful time when I was your valentine. Have a wonderful day sweetheart." Man... H isn't even that sweet! Dads are the best.
I'm taking my dad's truck to work so my mom can get the kids to DC. She left 4 bars of Ghirardelli and Lindt chocolates on the drivers seat, tied in red ribbon with a bottle of wine.
My co-worker over the wall said all of us married women who get flowers today have to give her one so she can make her own bouquet. I just said "not gonna happen" and left it at that.
Bah humbug. But Happy Valentine's Day to my TCF loves.
Bitch, order your own damn flowers. Wow.
If said with the right attitude, I'd give her one. Maybe that's weird.

DS is so excited to give out valentines to his friends this year. It's the first year he has really gotten the point of the day. Plus, they include Star Wars fruit snacks, which he thinks are the most amazing candies ever.
I was a good wife and picked up coffees and treats for DH and me on the way home from drop-off. It's his WFH day, so I think we are going to squeeze a lunch date in this afternoon!
Honestly, I used to think VD was the dumbest of all the Hallmark holidays. But L enjoyed so much at preschool last year that my cold, dead heart grew three sizes that day.

DH got me a box of assorted chocolates from the grocery store. Every year i tell him not to bother because i don't like them. This year, he did the same thing. Nobody wants some nasty orangeish flavored stuff covered in mediocre chocolate. I did tell him thank you but in a day or two I'll tell him to eat them.
I made Valentine's note cards for my kids and gave them toast with jam-shaped hearts for breakfast. I stuck a card and a truffle in DH's lunch bag. I also frosted and decorated a cake for work so I'm feeling adequately accomplished this morning!
I know Larry happened. Please do not try to convince me otherwise. Please don't talk to me about coffee. I don't drink it. I don't caffeine. When I state my opinion, that is me chiming in on a topic. This is not me saying you suck at life if you do or feel differently. If I want to say that, I will. If I want to speak on you, I will.

I think the lesson here is that somebody does want those nasty chocolates, and that somebody is your H.
DS1 was so excited to hand out valentines at preschool today. I really hope MH doesn't get me anything since I didn't get him anything, unless you count the cookie cake I bought for the boys.
MH is staying home with DD today while I go to work. I'm bummed for her since she'll be missing her Valentine's Day party at preschool, but there's no way we can send her.
MH and I aren't celebrating today outside of just saying "Happy Valentine's Day" and maybe some good lovin' later. Think I may go to target later and possibly getting some wireless headphones. Doctor was closed yesterday so going to call them today to make my appointment. Other than that, nothing really on the agenda for today.

I never got anything for Vday growing up except 1 red rose from my dad. He got one for all of us daughters (7 of us all together), and i never felt left out. I loved getting that flower from my dad

My mom bought DS a Valentine's Day present. It's ridiculous because he is already attending two preschool parties today and his birthday is in 10 days. But grandparents are going to do their thing, I guess.
My DD got like 5 valentines in her class yesterday. She's 1. Most were good (slinky, stickers, etc.). But she also got conversation hearts? She can't eat those! She has 2 teeth. And pez. Lol at least H and I have something sweet for tonight.
DS is four. He got a ton of blow pops. Who thinks giving four year olds gum is a good idea?
The twins' mom gives them gum after every visit as they get in my car. RAGE!

I get him a box of them every year. One year i did a box of Snickers because that's his favorite candy bar and he mentioned that he would rather have the heart shaped box ones, so from then on I get him those nasty things. Maybe if I buy him 2 boxes next year he won't get them for me any more.
