britta, Thanks to Nana, DS1 is a TV fiend too. He asks for it all the time but he quickly follows it with "When you say I can." We try to distract him during the week with other activities and usually let him watch a couple shows on the weekend. DD still has not interest in it. Like you, there are some days when I wish it'd occupy her for a short time but she just doesn't care about it. Good luck at the party this afternoon. I hope it goes better than the Christmas party.

I'm feeling better and better as the hours tick by. Thank goodness! It was such a weird bug. I never actually got sick and not sure I even had a fever. I just couldn't function. Reminiscent of the first trimester.

I'm helping out at DD's Valentine's party this afternoon. Her classroom is, um, a handful. There are several unruly kids. In just the brief minutes I'm in there for drop-off and pick-up, there are kids climbing shelves and running away from the teachers. I feel bad for the teachers so helping them out today is my way of offering my condolences. They had a sign up for treats and one of the items was Puppy Chow. DD is allergic to peanuts but the sign up never said it had to be peanut-free. Ugh. I signed up for it so I could make it peanut-free.

We didn't buy anything for the kids. They will get enough candy and trinkets at school.

I feel like an a-hole but I definitely use the TV as a babysitter pretty much everyday. Usually, DS1 will half watch and half play with his toys or run around the room. However, he becomes a zombie when he watches the iPad, so I save that for when I need actually quiet time since he no longer naps.

My H surprised me by taking off this morning and signed me up for a deep tissue massage. I told him that was way better than any flowers and chocolates! We don't normally do anything to celebrate.

We have kids movies and shows on most of the time we're home. DD always asks for it, but then rarely sits and watches very long before she's off playing. I have mixed feelings on it depending on the day

I accepted!!! I agreed to a .9 FTE, so 4 8.5 hour days/week, 8-4:30. I opted out of the weekend "rotation" in favor of "picking up" 2 weekend shifts per month, which I can either do as OT or take two weekdays off instead. Weekend shifts are usually only 4-6 hrs long, instead of 8-9. I'll have holiday obligations, but I'm not sure exactly how many. Probably 2-3/year, again 4-6 hours on those days.

We're on day 2 of no TV whatsoever for DD. This is huge. Between needy newborn and cold winter she'd been watching a lot of TV. DS has finally stopped screaming bloody murder in the car so we ran a bunch of errands today. It was nice! Finally got a sports bra that fits. Time to start running again. Also got a new bathing suit tankini that contains the girls. Two pricey purchases but worth it to feel comfortable.

DH has his eye on another motorcycle and is currently acting like a kid on Christmas. I could ask him to do anything for me at this point and he'd do it happily since I agreed he could pursue purchasing it.

You guys my anxiety is out of control. I found a spot under my toenail with a black line coming out of it, plus some other brown pigmentation. I've spent literally all day long in a Dr.Google spiral. It wasn't there last month at my skin check, so if it is anything I caught it right away. But the internet has convinced me it's melanoma (and it really does fit a lot of the criteria, I'm not being totally unrealistic). I see the dermatologist Thursday thank goodness.

I also scheduled an appointment with the therapist for Monday because I'm seriously making myself sick over this.

htle07 She is allergic to peanuts, peas, and cashews. We found out about the nuts at 7 months after battling what I thought was just eczema for a month. Nope. She was reacting to her peanut butter toast. We discovered the peas last fall after she broke out in hives several times at daycare.

Previously parents have been asked to bring one ingredient and then they make the snack as a class. For example, people would bring goldfish, raisins, pretzels, and marshmallows and they'd mix them together as a morning activity to serve as an afternoon snack. I am also surprised they allow us to bring homemade food. I'm actually sure it's against the rules.

I know anyone can be allergic to anything, but this is a first I've heard of a pea allergy. That's so unusual. Is she able to eat other beans? Dried or fresh?

I had a co-worker whose daughter has a peanut and bean allergy so I was on the lookout for a reaction to beans. Apparently peas are in the same family. No reaction to any beans yet and she's tried a large variety.

Now that I'm trying to make more meatless meals, she'll probably develop an allergy to beans of some kind.

I dunno though, I read bad things on the internet about shots. Big pharma and shots.  They are hiding government trackers in the current vaccines... what's next.
