sleepymonkey we plan to move to a bigger house in a year or two and a must have is room for the litter boxes. We have them in our bathroom right now and walking on litter is terrible! We basically need to sweep daily (which doesn't happen lol) in order to prevent it.

txcatlady, I bought a cordless Dyson solely for the cat litter situation. Even though it was expensive for a stick vac, it was worth every penny! I use that thing at least once a day. We moved to our current house after DD was born and we realized that our old house was going to get way too small very quickly. Now I wish we had gotten something bigger than what we did. It's not a bad size at all but the layout is not ideal. Maybe in a few years (and hopefully a few raises/promotions for me), we'll be in a better position upgrade.

I've been eyeing the cordless dyson! I might have to move that up the wish list!
Thanks ladies. I felt better after I got something to eat.
Apparently my weight jumped since my last appt. It went up 8lbs. The Ob just made an off hand comment about so I guess he's not too worried. I'm only up at total of 25lbs over all so I'm not concerned. Hopefully I don't do the same next appt though.
sleepymonkey I'd ask about. No harm in finding out why.
H came home with a GIANT box of chocolates. I'm 90% convinced he's a chubby chaser at this point and I'm going to have to eat salads for a solid month to balance this out.
Hi ladies. Got the news today that I failed the 1 hour GTT so I get to do the 3 hour next week, ugh. When I was pregnant with DD I failed the 1 and passed the 3 so I can at least hope that happens here. It blows my mind a little that this happened again because last time I was totally loading up on carbs and candy, and this time I was intentionally much more careful about what I ate. Oh well, could be worse. Good luck to everyone else, hope you all get better results than I did!
Valentine Bandit is my favorite part of Valentine's Day. They put up thousands of prints of red hearts all over the city every year (for 41 years!) and this year they have really outdone themselves.

Happy Valentine's day everyone! I'm a little late saying hi but I'm finally fighting an awful cold that I felt like had evaded me for a while. Any tips or tricks for those who've been had colds already? Anything make you feel better?
GL to all those dealing with the GTT!! I think mine will be in a couple weeks but I'll probably be getting the drink this Thursday at my appointment. It was cancelled last week because of the snow. Also at my next appointment I think I have to get the rhogam shot. Fun times.

rosesquared, sorry about the cold. We have the flu going around here (one that was not covered by this year's flu shot) and I am praying I don't get it. I had a cold a few weeks ago and I must admit that it was worse dealing with it while pregnant. I will echo what hpnegirl said and use a neti-pot and Sudafed. I also found sleeping with a humidifier helped. Anything to help break up the junk!
And mucinex is class C if you need additional help breaking things up. Some providers don't bring it up because they no-no any class C but I'm team the benefits outweighs the risk (I also take a class C allergy med..)

hpnegirl, the practice I go to is against class C drugs but my old ob was all about the benefits outweighing the risks so I still follow that. I have had bad sinus issues for years and take a sinus medication almost every night that is class C and I did with DD as well.

Same here. When I told my OB with DS1 that I take Allegra for allergies and asked if I could keep taking it, he just went "you need to breathe, right? Take it"
Now, it depends on which MW I see. The head MW and the newest one are okay with class C if nothing else works. There's one who is strictly against class C. Sigh
Edit: forgot my original point again... I still follow the "benefits outweighs the risk" attitude of my old OB. Damn, I miss him...
hpnegirl - really, in regards to the rhogam? They will do that (give it in the arm)? I am rh- and they give it in the rear because the needle is so big....I think they have to give it in a really muscular part of the body, right? I've never thought to ask, but I honestly don't think I would want it in my arm....it hurts like a beotch going in but once it's over I have no soreness....and I've had several rhogam shots....one with kid 1, didn't need one after birth because he was negative, 1 with kid (the one after birth was through my IV) 2 and one with a miscarriage.

Don't feel bad, lastkiss! This is not my third baby where I gained 8-9lbs between weeks 20-24. I don't know what it is about that time frame but that is when my body really likes to pack on the lbs! At week 24 I had gained a total of 20lbs so she wasn't worried either. I do have to say I'm a bit worried at what my weight will be next week at 28.5 weeks...I wouldn't be surprised if I've gained another 8lbs. I've been too afraid to weigh myself, ha! I have not been eating as well with this pregnancy as I have with my last two.

Yes, I've had to ask for it, but they'll do it. Mine after DS1 was through my IV, but both shots at 28 weeks were done in my arms. I flat out won't let them do it in the butt, so the arm is the other place they can do it. It was simply "can you do it in my arm?" and they did, both times, both with different practices. I didnt feel it go in either time though it burned through my IV
I can do belly shots no issue, but I do not do butt shots

Mucinex helped me so much! But my dr ok'd it because sudafed gave me heart palpitations so I can't take that and I could not breathe at all.

I can't take regular sudafed for similar reasons plus the fact that it knocks me the hell out. I have to take the PE version which my providers aren't thrilled about.. mucinex is amazing. Just saying

Sudafed makes me jittery and anxious so I have to take the PE version too. I like Mucinex if it's only the expectorant. I also found I can't take anything with a cough suppressant in it because it also makes me really jittery. Apparently my body just doesn't like to treat colds.

Interesting!!! i have mine next week and may ask for it in my arm....I don't really mind the rear but it just hurts....so you think the arm is a LESS sensitive place to have it done? Why don't you do butt shots, if you don't mind me asking? lol

I think so. I think you're on to something about sensitivity..
I've never had a butt shot that didn't hurt like hell. I'm a big flincher, too, but I barely flinch when it's my arm. I also absolutely hate dropping my pants when it's not 100% necessary and a shot is not a necessary reason for it when I have alternate locations they can stick it in. I don't like people seeing my front or back end unclothed, either, so..
