You already know this @xamountofwords, but I LOVE Benjamin. MH is not a fan and wants to go with what we had picked out for Molly if she was a boy. I told him I would poll my internet friends and find out what one they like better. He is pushing for Oliver.

We've had a boy name picked out since we started trying for a baby before my daughter. It's Grayson Alexander, and I still like it, but I hate that Grayson has gained so much popularity in the past few years.
We had no idea what we were going to name this one if it was a girl. We've used all the names we both like in the three of them.

I'm waiting to find out the sex, before I start looking. I spend a lot of time on the SSA website tracking the popularity of a name over decades, since I don't want anything common.
I would choose Benjamin over Oliver, since Oliver seems more trendy and Benjamin is classic -but, I've never really cared much for Benjamin. (Plus, lots of people name their pets Oliver these days)
We're trying not to discuss names until we know the sex but we were briefly discussing girl names the other day...and not agreeing on anything, lol. With DS we couldn't agree on girl names either but we agreed on a boy name right away, so thank god he was a boy haha.

I love all of your name ideas. I teach about 200 kids, so finding a name that I don't associate with a student drives me to less common names. MH and I both still like the girl name we've been holding on to through two boys - Elizabeth Ann. On the boy side, I'm a fan of Stephen James. Or maybe spelling it Steven. But now that I see that one written out, I'm not so sure. I do want to use James as a middle as we're working through male family names.

I adore the name Benjamin and would love to use it, but it's H's brother's name. To be fair, I also really like Oliver.
I love Olivia or Charlotte for girls. But likely won't use either because Olivia is too popular and Charlotte is too much royal family with our William.

My H is stuck on A and B names because the babies are A and B. He keeps calling them Abby and Ben. I'm not that impressed with either because they just don't feel right.
We like Vienna (like the city not the sausage lol) for a girl and not exactly sure for a boy.. Luciano and Valentino are contenders.. if you couldn't tell my husband is Italian. Haha!

I have this problem too. I've been teaching for 15 years, most of my kids have been behavior problems (special ed teacher), and my husband also teaches kids with emotional/behavioral disorders so we are having a hard time finding any boys names that don't remind us of students. Also, Elizabeth has always been a top girls name for me.

We are definitely Samantha Louise for a girl but still undecided for a boy. We were thinking Peter Neil but now aren't so sure for no particular reason.
Thank you!! I think it's going to have to grow on me but it fits perfectly with the boys' names. Girl names are so hard to choose!
Now I have the opposite problem, I have the hardest time with boys but don't have to worry since 2 girls. I'm having a hard time coming up with girl names though too right now! Ugh

We have our girl name picked out from last time so we'll use it if we get the chance - Evangeline.
Boy names are hard since we have a lot of criteria for names including the fact that they cannot be popular (DH nixes top 1000 names) and need to sound nice in English and Spanish. We also look at the meaning of each name and whether they pass the Dr test (put doctor or judge in front of the name).
Since we know that at least one of the babies is a boy, I like the name Alden, but he's not convinced. We also like the name Navid (pronounced Na-veed), but not sold on that either.
happyfeet9 I'm right there with not wanting popular names. I don't really care about meanings, though. Why is your H picky about boy names, but Evangeline is OK? It looks like it's been increasing in popularity since 2006.

If we have a girl, Marlowe Rose will be her name. Boy names are up in the air. So far, Miles, Mitchell, and Markham are on the list. Obviously we are going with M names..... We have a Maisey Noelle and a Macallan Loche already. The M thing wasn't planned originally, but we don't want our 3rd to be the odd one out. So, an M name it will be. Obviously we aren't into traditional names, but also not into super weird made up ones either....

Thanks! We call him Mac for short. I can't claim coming up with it. One of my best friends did. She was so tired of the ridiculous boy names I was coming up with. Seriously, boys are so much harder...... She says "What about Macallan" and boom, we were all sold. We've got Scottish roots, so it was a hit.
Bumping this to see if anyone has any updates in this area!
Now that we know we're having a boy and a girl, Evangeline is set in stone, but our boy name is still up in the air.
I really like Navid. DH threw out Josiah, but I quickly threw it back at him. I'm not feeling it (I've tried over the past month) and it's pretty common around here.
Oof. His name will be the bane of my existence!! I just haven't experienced that "THAT'S IT!" Feeling. Instead, I like a name and then I don't. 😏 Plus, originally I wanted a bilingual name, but we hate 99% of bilingual boy names. And DH was raised Jewish so he's sticking to the no repeats of names and he doesn't want any names from the New Testament (insert eye roll on the latter because what? I would have never thought of Thomas as a biblical name...)
My list includes:
Noah Oliver Max Andrew Jonah Elijah Theo Ethan Nolan Joshua Leo
I am currently leaning towards Max but DH is not a big fan, he's currently leaning toward Jonah but I'm no longer a big fan. Initially I was dead set on Noah and now I'm meh. And DH was loving Oliver and now is eh.
And middle name will either be Antonio or Alberto (after my dad's middle and first names) or maybe my maiden name, but it sounds weird as a middle name bc it's a last name. So we will see...
