An 8 year old complimented my new haircut while I was helping out at the Valentine's day party yesterday. Several adults have also given me compliments - but somehow a 2nd grade girl's opinion is like gold because they are brutally honest.
Like when DD came into the kitchen while I was cleaning the other day and told me I was doing a really good job. So sincere, she saw that I was working hard and praised me for it.
My young 6yo ran a continuous 1.6 miles yesterday. I'm so proud.
And I ordered some new jeans for H, and he tried them on and liked them. They were colored, grey but still. He's never ever worn colored jeans before, and I don't think he would have tried them on himself.
That's amazing! I don't think I can run a continuous .6 miles.
Someone left a professional listserv I'm on with a awful essay about how much they hate liberals and we all suck. Fwiw, all political discussion had been strictly contained to how the current administration effects our field. Turns out, 50 y/o men can also act like 12 y/o girls.
You sir, just got stuck on my post it.
Now I'm wondering if it's one I'm also on. I'm always behind on those.
I can't stop sneezing, my head hurts, and I want to go home.
But I have a feeling this illness will be worse at some point and I need to tough it out for now. (I don't sit that close to anyone that I need to worry about contaminating the office)
If you really want to torture yourself you can buy this Mickey that sings the Hot Dog song. Then have your 2 year old press it incessantly. So strange that this toy got lost...
Start water boiling for spaghetti. Melt butter at medium low in your widest pan. Once butter is melted, add garlic, spreading it around completely but not turning up heat. In a bowl, stir together oyster sauce, brown sugar, soy sauce, and sesame oil. Once pasta is cooked and drained, add it to pan and toss thoroughly (soft-tipped tongs work best for this). Remove pan from heat, add sauce, and toss again until all noodles are coated. Add crab, toss. Serve.
The long version of the Hot Dog Song is at the end of one of our three TMBG albums. Those things are the best, especially the combination CD and DVD with music videos. Educational!

this sounds like allergies... pretty much exactly like allergies.
guess I'll find my zyrtec and give that a try
Or do allergies warrant taking a day to lounge in soft pants and read a good book?
I've gained 4 pounds over the past 2 weeks, so I'm prepping and roasting a ton of veggies today. I really need to get back on the healthy eating train.
It didn't help that a patient brought in 3 types of homemade cookies yesterday, or that an office we refer to brought muffins and danishes.
I feel like the person I am training has absorbed approximately .01% of what I've trained her on so far. She is part time, but she started January 23rd...
