rachydc Why not go to consignment stores? They really only take fashionable trendy clothes and so its NBD if they get messed up. We've destroyed soooo many clothes. Ours has converse, vans, Toms, etc. I even found her cute doc martens and combat boots second hand. She literally scraped the front off of her docs the second day she wore them.
Your consignment shop sounds awesome! The two by us are so overfilled with totally meh items. Very rarely do I find something worth buying, though I sell Juliette's old clothes (or gifts we couldn't return) to them often.
One of my bitchy relatives just posted a bump pic of herself wearing one of those kimono jackets. Someone asked her where she got it and she said she'd "had it for years. Sorry..." Another cousin then posted "it's from target- here's the link!" LOLOLOL.
My inlaws just left. Visit was tolerable! Tonight we are going to grill since it's so nice out.
I'm on a mission to clear out some stuff and make some money on things just sitting around my house, hence the earlier post about selling my wedding dress.
Last night I posted a bunch of housewear items on a FB garage sale page. I've had one lady interested in buying a waffle iron I had. I'm selling it for $10 and she is being annoying about telling me a time to meet. How hard is it to pick a time? Yesterday she said "tomorrow evening sometime and I'll txt you tomorrow" so today I message her and she still can't give me an actual time but "after I run errands". I told her it needed to be before 8pm when my son goes to bed. I already feel like it's not worth all this hassle. Why are people do difficult? I feel like she's going to pull a "oh I didn't realize how far you live" too even though I said pick up location in my original post and in txt. It's like by the time it's said and done $10 won't seem worth the hassle. Sigh.
sepiamoon - it is - I'm sorry waffle lady is being such a PITA. I'm trying to ignore the voice that's telling me to do chores and just enjoy this time where no one needs me.
Shit. Laundry. I have some of that I need to switch. Then more swing!
I saw my friend this morning and am so sad I hardly ever see her anymore. She's the best. I'm so happy I got to see her today though.
But Sam woke up from his nap crying because he'd vomited all over. And that was after refusing lunch. And now DS has an eye infection. Why does February exist??

amch8 if you haven't shopped yet I also need to recommend keva blocks for your 4 year olds. My kids love them, they are fancy and I bought 400 more today and Bryce been happily playing for 2+ hours.

Horrible day. It was the last week of this session of swimming lessons for my boys. DS2's teacher never showed up. The original teacher got a backup who never showed. DS1 was the only one in his class and finally after 20 minutes of sitting next to the wall the pool manager grabbed someone to teach DS2.
Then we rushed out to head to my mom's cabin to celebrate my youngest sister's 30th bday. They all requested we bring our dog too. My sister's dog peed all over the place when we got there and when DH made a comment because their dog peed on his shoe her new hubby got an attitude and started yelling at DH. DH isn't one to just let it go and we ended up leaving after driving 1.5 hours there and being there an hour. Wasted day, wasted gas. My mom said she'd call me later but I guess something else must have set of BIL before we got there. I know their dog is almost 3, not completely housebroken, and snapped at my 2yo niece today. Waiting to find out what the heck happened because it's like we walked in to a land mind. Guess we won't be seeing my youngest sister and BIL anytime soon. :/
I took DS to the neighborhood park and 2 kids that were there last weekend were there again. They are 8 and 5. They were trying to figure out how old I am. I guess they weren't sure if DS was my son or my brother...
Convo goes like this:
5year old: "Are you an adult?" Me: Yes! I am almost 30. 8 year old: My dad is 31. So, did it hurt to have a baby? Me: ..... ..... Um.... Well the doctors help and they give you medicine to help the baby come.
Thank god it ended at that. I was not about to have birthing q&a with someone else's kids.
Thank God it's the weekend. DS's cold has turned into asthma and an ear infection, complete with fever. If it were a weekday, I'd be waking up at 5 to drive 2 hrs R/T to take him to MIL's. As much as this sucks, thank goodness it's not a school day. I was in his crib with him at 4 am while he happily tried to peel the mole off my face. I've always wanted to get it removed, but not like that (or at that hour).
Also, we have next Thurs-Tues off for carnival. Hurrah!
Toddler speech funny: DS seems to be trying to parrot short sentences. He asked for Dada when he woke up this morning. I said "Dada's in bed." He repeated "Dada's dead." Spooky as hell, kiddo.
One final thought: I have no idea how to parent without my boobs. I'm getting pressure to stop nursing but...no!
My SO is pressuring me to stop as well and I'm like, "But these are the only source of power I have over my kid!"
@traceyos I thought everyone knew Sandra Bullock? Like if I had to name one actress pretty much everyone is familiar with she'd be my choice.
DD has a friend up the street who has been coming over a lot lately and hilariously they both pronounce each other's names wrong. H and I keep thinking they'll catch on at some point but so far it's a no go.
I don't mean to brag, but then I do. I think DS found a future spouse in @officedronette 's dd. Dinner ended with a long walk through the neighborhood, hand in hand. They even took a pause to see a wedding dress in a store window. The night came to a close with a long hug. It was magical.
I'm writing from beyond the grave, bc I died when they started holding each other's hands. Too. Cute. I love toddlers so much, when they get just a little more verbal I'll be in heaven.
They also met a big fluffy dog. Only ice cream could have made things better.

Thanks for the rec! I ended up getting a Melissa and Doug jewelry making kit and a clay/art kit. It's a good brand, it's creative, AND it'll make a mess!

@traceyos I'm watching The Proposal right now. I love Sandra Bullock. I do think Melissa Mccarthy is a bigger deal at the moment, but I can't believe she doesn't know who Sandra is.
So on Thursday night I came down with the flu or a stomach bug, I don't know which. This morning is the first time I've felt slightly human. I slept all day Friday and half of Saturday. Then of course my husband got sick on Saturday too. The kids seem to be fine so I'm praying they don't get anything. When I get some energy I'll be cleaning house because nothing got done the past few days.

I definitely know who Sandra Bullock is. I can't place Melissa McCarthy off the top of my head, I'll Google her later. I don't see commercials for movies since we watch only kid channels and don't have a theater here so I haven't seen any new movies. I'm out of touch with the world apparently.
I need to get my SIL a birthday present and while I normally don't like to do gift cards they are in the process of buying and renovating a new house. So I think more stuff might just be an annoyance and a gift card to a place for home decor would be better. So where would you want a gift card from for that purpose?
I'm about to head to the grocery store. DS2 won't stop crying and it's been like that for a couple of days now. Poor kid. Otherwise, it's a baking and cleaning kind of day. It's supposed to rain so we may sneak a walk before that starts.

if they are moving i'd do home depot or loews.
I also really like decor from wayfair depending on her style.
Is she a drinker? You could "stock the new fridge"
You could also do a gift card for a cleaning service to clean everything up once its renovated?

They are moving but I was thinking not Home Depot or Lowes since that would end up being spent on more need things versus something fun she would want. She is a drinker but they are TTC so I don't want to do anything super alcohol like.
