I'm so glad Chase already has a follow-up scheduled for tomorrow because there is no way he doesn't have an ear infection. I just spent the last 45 minutes in the rocker so he could get a much needed nap. He just seems so miserable. And I miss sleep.
On another note, I now remember why we bathe the boys daily. We skipped baths last night because of the game and they both smell today. I am going to HATE the teenage years!
Not much new here. J is now fever free, so back to school tomor. We went for a walk this morning and then hung around with the windows open this afternoon. Pretty lazy weekend, I have literally done nothing around the apt, while mh has done quite a bit.
I'm outside with the kids. This is nice. I can't wait for spring to officially be here. I kinda think this warmer weather might be a cruel joke because we could still end up with 5+ more weeks of winter weather.
It's exactly a cruel joke. It's supposed to be like 65 here tomorrow and then on Friday it's supposed to snow like 3-5in.
Chase has been running a low grade fever on and off for days. Never anything high enough that they'd send him home for from daycare, if he were there. I want to send him in tomorrow since he'll be leaving early anyway... I assume it's just his ears AGAIN (or still) but I feel guilty about it. But I really can't take another day off and DH is working nonstop. This just stinks. We had no idea how lucky we were with Col and his amazing immune system.
This. I like outdoor activities...and then going back to a hotel or rented house afterward.
I grew up camping and loved it. But as an adult, that is way to much work for a bad nights sleep. My parents camp so they can take the boys and I'll go visit them during the day lol. You pack your clothes, bed sheets, bathroom needs, food, chairs, for us a golf cart/fourwheeler, grill, and tables. And then have to set it all up for 2 nights then take it all back down. And then put it all away when you get home. NO.THANK.YOU.

I'm such a comforts girl, but you all know I love camping! I do have my limits though. Two nights max, the campground must have actual toilets, we have to be near a body of water and it has to be warm. I do not like being cold! Getting the camper trailer was the best thing we did, it makes life so much easier and it's glorious having a real bed at night!

Yes, it seems like a lot of work to sleep on the ground and eat so-so food.
I may be somewhat traumatized thanks to my high school's epic 4-day camping/bonding experience, "The 8th Grade Trip", where we slept in something called a 'squirrel's nest' and all our food tasted like dishwater with a faint sudsy aftertaste.
My H was an Eagle Scout and he and his dad did a lot of camping, so he's very experienced and enjoys it. I will let him take the kids while I head to the spa
I grew up camping. Not like backwoods camping, more like tents in a campground with a communal bathroom. We even had camping family reunions where our extended family would rent out this huge semi-private field in a campground. Super fun as a kid. But so much prep work!
DH has never been camping but would be up for an RV trip. That just doesn't do it for me. I'd rather really go for it with tents or rent a cabin/get a room. Apparently moderation is not my thing, haha.

I have no problem camping....in my backyard, so at midnight when we decide it's too cold and the ground is too hard and there are suspicious noises waking us up, we can just go inside and sleep in our comfortable beds.
I more than hate camping. I don't even like to be outside unless I'm on the beach or poolside. I don't like wild animals or bugs or hot or cold or not having proper bathrooms. I love that our priority sports are gymnastics and hockey. Even though hockey is cold, it's never windy or rainy and there are bathrooms and snack stands. Baseball and soccer start the season freezing then end with me sweating my ass off.
I hate the beach when it's warm, sand everywhere, to much people, I don't like sunbathing. I do like to swim in the ocean and take walks on the beach in the winter. I'm weird I guess...
Not weird. I almost have to have a 'craving' to go to the beach, if that makes sense. I guess b/c I grew up so close to it, I take the beach for granted. I won't go when it's really hot, and we bring a cabana and I mostly avoid the sun. At least here in FL, there is always plenty of room to spread out.

I'd like to go glamping! The closest I've been to camping in the past decade are the little huts at Yosemite, which was fine, but I was jealous of the real campers that had tires and stuff from home.
In 8th grade I did a school backpacking trip and we hiked the Shenandoah Park section of the Appalachian Trail, so about 110 miles and we carried everything. I have forgotten everything though, so would need to go with an experienced camper. We are day hikers now..
Have you girls ever been 'glamping'? Dh and I did for our mini honeymoon (we had to wait two months for the real one). It was a safari tent with a massive bed, a claw foot tub, wood burner, breakfast and diner could be ordered and was brought to you with a golf cart.
That looks dreamy. I would love this.
We actually are going camping the weekend after next! Two nights at the lake with our camper and kayaks. There's a marina and store and restaurant on the other side of the lake that would could get too if we needed something. (Last time I drove over to get us more beer.😳 it was like $30 for a 12 pack!) were also only about an hour outside Phoenix so I do t feel totally cut off from civilization.
