This is my last full week of maternity leave. I'm having all the feels. I also had a daycare nightmare last night. They kept losing my baby's bottles. It was terrible.
@kc295905 hope you start feeling better soon! requiressnacks sorry about the daycare nightmare. Enjoy your last full week of leave!
This is also my last full week of leave. Not sure how I feel about that. We're doing a test run with the babysitter tomorrow. Kind of nervous but kind of excited to have a day to myself.
The twinkies have been successfully sleeping their crib for the past week so that's been nice. I've been trying to get them used to the pack n play for naps but that is not going well. Anyone have any tips or suggestions? They're going g to have to sleep in them at the babysitters as well as my parents house so...
Good luck today, @kc295905! I hope your day goes quickly. And I hope you are feeling better!
Thank you. I'm definitely not at work. I was throwing up all night. Upside is I lost 4 pounds... 🤢
Wow. That's quite a stomach bug you picked up. 🤢🤢🤢
They slept pretty well in the PnPs. It was like 7:30p-4a. And I like having them in our room but not directly next to the bed. I think I slept a little better hearing less of the little groans and grunts.

requiressnacks enjoy your last week home! Did you get most of your to-do list done?
dream2be3 When I put alex in the pnp and see he's about to fuss, I swing his mattress. Just put your hand flat on the mattress & move it back and forth. That usually helps.
It's day two of operation nap in the crib, and we're making progress! We elevated the crib mattress slightly on one end, per our doctor's recommendation, and it seems to be helping a lot. She's also doing better with just laying peacefully in the crib. My husband left for another work trip this morning, so thankfully my mom is here for reinforcements.

The minute we woke up I got us dressed and out the door. We went to DD for breakfast, grocery store, & then the car wash. Unfortunately, that only took up 2 hrs. Now I have to think of how else to keep Leo entertained.
Yesterday I went thru the toys in the basement and took out a (lrg) garbage bag full. I still have to tackle my closets down there.
I've got the windows open and the day promises to be warm and sunny.

My mom was here over the weekend from out of town and took Jane two nights in a row so I could sleep. OMG that was awesome. We're swaddling Jane again. My mom started doing it and she goes to sleep so much better when her arms aren't going everywhere. So burrito baby it is. I tried putting her in the rock and play last night but she ended up in bed with me again. I think I almost have this cold beat. Too bad I didn't get the day off today, my husband did. But the cleaners come today so I'm excited. :-)
requiressnacks, dream2be3, Enjoy your last week! I hope next week goes really well for the both of you. I did enjoy getting into a routine because of going back to work, but miss the just kind of doing whatever we wanted with Jane during the day.
Anyone have baby dandruff issues? I know they call it cradle crud, and I put olive oil on it yesterday. She seems to just have one little patch.
Also, things on what to try to get her to sleep on her own - in the rock and play or pack and play are most welcome.

We're working on this too. Right now she sleeps in the Mamaroo at night. I think she knows the routine now, which helps (diaper change, pajamas, feeding with all of the lights out except a small battery operated candle, then rocking for just a minute and putting her down when she's still awake). If she's not settled, I'll rest my hand on her chest and hold the pacifier in until she gets still.
She'll sit in the RNP for a bit, but not sleep. The crib/PNP is hit or miss. She'll lay in it for a bit, but we have to work to get her to sleep. For us, physical contact is key, so that means hand on the chest or rubbing her temple/forehead until she starts dozing off. Things that also seem to be helping are: white noise close to her head, pacifier (she's a comfort sucker) and a Nested Bean Sleep Sack, which has a small bean bag part on the chest to mimic the weight of a hand.
Still troubleshooting over here, so suggestions are welcome. Unfortunately she is not a fan of the swaddle, and is also starting to roll so it's off the table.

I have no sleep advice really, but mine have definitely benefited from a sleep routine. We swaddle (with one arm out now) and we use a sound machine, light blocking curtains and they are put down drowsy and awake, with pacifiers. It's also usually 1.5 hrs after they woke up last. We are on a consistent 3 hour feed, wake/play, nap schedule.
It's kind of a double edged sword though, because I think mine are becoming sleep divas.

littlelion, I'd say I got 75-80%of my todo list done. I definitely underestimated how much energy and time parenting twins would take on a daily basis.
And I'm sure I'll get nothing productive done this week because all I want to do is cuddle my babies before I only seee them 2 days per week. I was thinking about it today...,they will literally nap at DC more than at home. ðŸ˜ðŸ˜ðŸ˜ðŸ˜
Also, totally random, but a lady called Cora tall this morning. It made me wonder how short her baby is if my not-on-the-growth-chart baby is tall to her.
I just tried on my (non stretchy) work pants. They don't fit. Sigh
I won't tell if you won't tell. Yesterday at dinner I said I still needed to lose the baby weight. Even tho that's been gone 3 wks now.
Oddly enough, my weight is at my pre-pregnancy number. But my body shape is totally different now. I have way more belly than ever before. I hope it goes away someday. 😬😬😬😬😬

Yes! My belly feels more out too. Does this mean I gotta do sit ups? I hate sit ups.
Same here. Not sure how to tighten those muscles. My doctor said sit-ups put pressure on the pelvic floor, so planking or modified sit-ups are better (if you don't want to be peeing yourself when you're 50).
