DD is still in her crib at almost 2.5. Luckily she hasn't tried to climb out of it yet but when we move her to a big bed we will probably move her to a different room which will make us rearrange the other rooms so I'm hoping to put it off as long as possible.
I'm not going to bring it up again unless I need to. I know I'm overreacting. I'm so unhappy at work that it's starting to affect my performance and I dont want that to happen.
I am also a boring parent re: kid beds. My big bed question is if they share a room eventually do we do two twins or bunks? I fell out of the top bunk a lot but I also didn't sleep there regularly (just when visiting relatives kicked me out of my bed).
There are so many cool bunk bed styles now that I would always do bunk beds when sharing a room if you need to save a bit of space.
I've never seen one without rails at the top.
If our kids end up sharing a room, I want to get a set with a full bed on the bottom and a twin on the top so that we have a good space to snuggle and read stories. Right now, our bedtime routine with DS is my favorite part of parenting.
DD was 2.5 when someone gave us a free toddler bed, so we figured that was as good of a time as any to transition. I think it was from PlaySkool. It was plastic and had a bright pink house as the headboard. She's now in a white, iron twin because I have a thing for metal bedframes.
DS switched to his black, iron twin after Christmas. We bought it because we needed another bed to use for an adult during Christmas.
Neither kid ever attempted to leave their crib on their own. With DD, and now with DS, she wouldn't leave the bed unless someone came into the room to tell her it was OK to get up. It's a mixed bag of awesome vs. annoying and makes night time potty training interesting.

Again, my concern would be changing sheets on the top bunk - like what if the kid pukes in bed?
We were offered a queen size bed for DS (7) and I'm debating if I want the hassle because it will be shoved against one wall. But then we'd have room for guests - which DH sees as the disadvantage
I also confess that DD wants to put her brother's old twin bed (if he gets the queen) in her bedroom so that she can turn her daybed into a reading couch and line it with all of her stuffed animals and dolls. And I'm kind of on board with that if she agrees not to put anything on the bed she sleeps in because having to remove 57 toys to change the sheets each week gets pretty old.
In awe of how long some of your kiddos stayed in cribs! My boys had the smooth ninja escape perfected early.
My oldest escaped crib by climbing the bars st 7 months. With nothing in the crib and mattress at lowest setting. I thought it was a fluke til he repeated it several times My youngest took a little longer like 9 mos
We picked the rides we wanted to do most and just got to the park at opening to do them first before any real lines form. We got onto the safari at Animal Kingdom in about a 15-minute wait (which is NOTHING for that one) by doing it first thing upon arrival.
At Magic Kingdom, we went straight to our fave rides at opening each AM and never waited more than 20 minutes without FP.
So maybe save the FP rides for later in the day when it gets super crowded.
Except that mine train. Always a 70 minute wait. Always.
I really need this Disney trip to come already because I'm lost in a sea of dining and ride plans.
I have to make fast pass selections in two weeks and I'm so lost. DH is ZERO help.
and I keep buying clothes and shoes as if I need a new wardrobe for this vacation
I'm still tweaking mine. I checked ride wait times this morning to get a sense of what we could walk-on with limited wait time and what we couldn't and then adjusted some of my FP+. I did all of them in the morning because we'll have park hoppers and I don't know if/when/where we'd hop to in the afternoon.

I was just watching DD wash her hands and she starts squirting soap all over the sink and small toys she had with her, washing them. And she continued to squirt soap and I tell her that it was enough and she had to stop. She looks at me and goes "Don't be angry" and happily continues to squirt soap.
Also, the dog is limping 😕 Seems to be worse when she's been sleeping or lying down for a while. Ugh, really don't feel like a vet outing but guess it has to be done.
I got FP for mine train on day 3 at like noon. I felt like I won the lottery.
There's something to be said with checking times obsessively early in the morning and late at night because I've been able to move lots of my plans around as I change my mind.
I'm no Disney expert by any means but I'd get out a map of the park and book the FP's by location of desired rides so it makes sense instead of having to walk back & forth a lot (especially with kids who aren't in strollers). It's a LOT of walking. We skipped a stroller and ended up with the 3yr old on DH's shoulders or in my arms by the end of each day.
Yeah, Cher mentioned that to me, so I've been staring at maps and making mental plans. We're bringing a stroller because DNW to carry a 40 pound 4 year old.

You're going to have so much fun - I'm excited for you!
did you guys have a great time? DS and I are giddy. H...not so much.

If you don't mind me asking, where did you get your DD's twin bed? I love metal beds and am having a hard time finding one I like enough to buy right now.

Definitely, definitely bring a stroller. Even J wound up spending some time in the stroller. My phone claims I walked 9 miles one of the days we were there.
Haven't read the thread. Left ear failed,so follow up appointments have been scheduled. In the realm of issues my kid could have, I'll count my blessings that potential hearing loss is all we are dealing with.
