My plan is to "forget" the carseat in our car so it is at the hospital with us. That way theres no chance of anyone driving him anywhere unless my H leaves and picks him up.
My MIL has "dreams" of DD staying with her overnight. It just doesn't make sense. My parents are coming up, and we would only have to install the carseat once. Also her house is not toddler proof. At all. I don't need to be stressed about what is happening when I'm in labor.
EXACTLY. My MIL has tile through he entire house. The only "baby proofing" he has is a gate at the bottom of her stairs. C can open doors and climb and gets into everything. Id be scared of what could happen overnight since all the bedrooms are upstairs. Plus her 2 dogs, as sweet as they are, are not well trained. One is a total oaf (bulldog) that knocks C over and the other jumps on him (boston terrier).
She acts like it is her last chance to have C alone since a new baby is coming. It makes no sense.
OMG the pet situation. My mom has a cat and she's a total asshole. This cat doesn't like kids and will scratch. So it's a hard pass.

SFIL just called and him and DS are leaving for lunch and errands. Thank you Jesus. My level of grumpiness has increased since my brother brought some stressful info about our work finances to my attention. I'm over it.
@priss08 if my mom did that, I would hope to go into labor while she is gone, just to prove a point. Sorry you are dealing with that though. And glad you have a plan for DS regardless.
Sorry for all the ladies grumpy today. It is easy to do at this stage!
Man, I'm sorry for everyone that is dealing with annoying family members. I basically gave all the grandparents (3 sets) a key and said whoever is closest when I go into labor please come over and stay with DD. There are fresh sheets/towels in the closet. I also have 2 daycare teachers who are willing to stay with her.
I really hope it is my mom though. Then I won't get 1 million questions. But the likelihood of her being around is small since she travels for work.

I so wish this was our situation.
Originally we were going to say whoever can get time off work to stay at our place with DS is welcome to. Then, we became really unhappy with my OB and the hospital here so we decided to return to my previous OB who is located near my hometown. So now we will be staying at my moms leading up to delivery day.
Im so much happier with my level of care and the confidence I have in the hospital I will deliver at, which is what matters most. It has definitely complicated things with family though.

@justinslovo if it makes you feel any better about waiting and seeing, the MW I see don't care about swelling unless it is excessive and painful. They've told me the latest research says it isn't consistently related to high blood pressure, and is just a common pregnancy symptom that doesn't necessarily indicate a problem.

I think the most frustrating thing about work right now (to continue my rant) is that we are supposed to be transitioning from me doing things to other people doing things. That way those people could learn from me and get feedback and be prepared to do these things for the next 5 months. Instead, what seems to be happening is everyone would like me to work ahead on things as much as possible before I leave, and then they'll pick up the pieces once I'm gone and figure out how to KOKO. I feel like I'm literally going to send 50 half-finished items out to each project on Friday at 5pm and say, "Bye, good luck."

I'm having sympathy itching for the ladies that have been itching I think. Seems fair since DH seems to be taking all the heartburn for me. Its just my lower legs, feet (not the bottoms) and arms, so I don't think I need to be concerned?
Today is one of those days that definitely needs a glass of wine but a big bowl of ice cream would be a fine substitute so I'm not sure how I'm going to deal with my feelings after work since booze and ice cream are both off limits at the moment.

While the bottoms of your feet and palms of your hands are the signature areas for ICP itching, it can be anywhere on your body. This is my second pregnancy having it, and while they've been itchy, my hands and feet have only been a bit more than a minor annoyance both times. The most intense itching for me has been on my arms, shoulders, lower legs and ankles, and my cleavage/where my bra band sits.
When in doubt, get tested, especially this late in pregnancy. You are at a slightly higher risk for having it due to having had progesterone shots. Also, there's somewhat of a link between ICP and GD: if I remember correctly, approximately 15% of ICP pregnancies are also complicated by GD.
Well shit. I go Thursday for an appt. am I stupid for waiting to see if it keeps up?
erinshelley21 - FWIW, my OB had me check for more traditional reasons for itching first like dry skin in winter or an allergic reaction. She told me to call if I still was having issues after seeing if it was a more common explanation. I tried Benedryl for a couple of days and lots of lotion. It was when I woke up in the middle of the night itching that I knew I needed to call. This isn't to say don't call your OB, I definitely would if I was worried. I just wanted to offer that hopefully it's a more 'normal' explanation.

suelou18 that makes me feel better. I haven't used any new products but haven't been as diligent with my lotion and exfoliating this winter so Ive been trying to focus on that for the last week or so. Not using any new products though.

This may be zero help but dont forget that pregnancy can change how our skin reacts to things we use. It wasnt until after I delievered C, but I was no longer able to use the brand of moisturizer I had always used. Id get a red rash around my mouth every time. It took about 3 times for me to make the connection but I am effectively mildly allergic to my old cream.

I've been using it during this pregnancy, just not every day like I was. Today is the first I've been itchy though.

You're 36+1? How long have you been itching? If the itching just started and isn't unbearable, you'd probably be okay waiting until Thursday, but if you're able to call your OB and get the labs ordered and drawn today and tomorrow then at least they'd be able to get your liver enzyme levels back prior to your appointment.
I just texted my SIL who is an OB nurse to see what she thinks. I just noticed it more this morning but my feet started itching more Sunday. I just assumed it was dry skin. I'm hoping that's all this yea. I am 36+1 though.
I mean, if she's your BFF, just go ahead and tell her that. If she's a mom too, I'm sure she'll understand! Coffee would also be on my list of things "the baby" needs.
She is my BFF but we are also different. She doesn't appreciate a glass of wine like I would. Plus she has a boy and is having another boy so I'm sure she is just wanting to buy girl stuff. I may tell her to stop at CVS on her way for a bottle though lol.
So...um....speaking of "mommy juice"...
I'm confused about the drinking and breastfeeding rules. One, every couple of day, is okay, right? And if we have a big night out, pumping and dumping is an option, right?
callmeKD, I did go to the Dr, and they gave me some drops. He said it was probably viral, but gave me antibacterial drops in case. I'm finding today they make my eye more red and itchy. So I haven't been taking them. :/
moutonrouge, my last week of work was last week, and that totally sounds like what was going on with me too! I had one group assign me over 30 tickets to review on Monday of my last week. That was over a day and a half worth of work! I had my week planned out already for things that needed to be wrapped up. I called that manager and said I'd get to what I could, but don't expect anything. I worked 2 and then left them in my name. Told the guy taking over for me, to let them reassign, they shouldn't have been in my name anyways.
Y'all are making me nervous with the itchy skin. I have it but mostly just at night on my feet and hands (and belly). My dr said it is probably circulation related since it isn't all day.

Yup! I think the first week home from the hospital with DD, I had a beer every night with dinner. It tasted so good! Then I drank a glass of wine or a beer ever so often with dinner. I tried to time it that I was drinking as soon as I finished a feeding, but not always the case.
I don't think we did a big night out until she was sleeping through the night. Once you sleep it off, I was amazed at how quickly your body processes the alcohol. I had some of the test strips, and I never got a positive by the morning.

One every night is okay lol. I drank a glass every night once ds started sleeping longer stretches. I'm convinced it helped my supply and can't wait to test my theory again.

I usually had a drink a night with DS. I usually had it while I was nursing him because it takes a bit for the alcohol to get into your system and it would be gone by the next session. That said, basically if you're ok to drive, you're ok to nurse, and it was more for my anxiety (eta: the delay in feeding again, not the booze!). Here's an article that was circulating a couple of months ago about the "pump and dump" myth:

@amc25 SIL said the Ob on call tonight wouldn't do anything for me with a complaint of itching so I'm just going to see how things go tonight and in the morning and monitor movement. The link to GD and the progesterone shot risk makes me nervous.

Sounds like a good plan. I'm sorry for making you (and everyone else) nervous about this.
Don't be sorry! You're educating us. I had no idea until you said something that excessive itching was a bad thing during pregnancy.

Sounds familiar. MILS dogs are pretty good around DD, but I could see them being prone to snap if they were pestered enough. I think my MIL has good intentions, but isn't thinking about all of the details.
Again I say, exactly! MIL has a very good heart and I know she comes from a good place but she is just soo far removed from the details of it all.
