My husband and daughter were home yesterday because it was Presidents' Day and now today everything is cancelled from snow. I love them but they are screwing up my routine!!
Hello! I hope that I can intro over here! I was active my first trimester over on the bump on the Feb '15 boards. Due to how rough my pregnancy got with my hip issues, I kinda fell off the wagon. My son was born 2 weeks early (EDD 2/5/15) in January (1/22/15) due to pre-e. I hope I can hang around here since he falls into this age group a little more! Really excited to be back.

Boo boo was an absolute terror to put to sleep last night she was up from 5:30pm until 1130pm. I'm so disoriented waking up for this feed since she had been going longer in between. Today is definitely going to be nap on the couch day.
M was hungry at 9:30, an hour earlier than normal. So I fed him and we went to bed. 30 minutes after he's asleep he wakes up. After another 30 minutes of trying to get him to sleep I get up and go set on the couch with the boppy. We both fell asleep at one point. At 12:30 we go get in bed. At 1 we wake again for food. I'm on day 3 of crap for sleep! Hoping he goes down for a long stretch after this! Mama needs it!

We apparently are having regular witching hours from about 7:00 to whenever LO finally falls asleep (9:30 last night). It sucks, of course, but then LO rewards me for my patience by sleeping until approx 3:30 or 4:00.
Our nanny starts today. When I was preggo I thought it would be a good idea to have her start two weeks before I go back to work so I could be here to answer questions, etc. Now I wish she wasn't going to start until next week so I could enjoy another quiet-ish week alone with LO.
I've been up every hour since 1am with LO...feed, gas pains, puke, feed, diaper change and now feeding again. To top it off, my stupid f-ing cat started scratching at the blinds at 5am wanting food. I tried to text DH to feed him since he's sleeping downstairs tonight and in my delusional state I text my friend instead...oops, hope I didn't wake her up. Ugh I'm gonna need all the naps today.
Just got done nursing and now waiting for her to be sleep enough to put her back in bassinet. Found out last night she will not sleep in a room without us. Tried to put her to bed last night and she would move and fuss until I came back and picked her up. She would then just fall asleep in my arms or rock n play in living room. Going to work on that soon, or I see some "fun" times in our future. ILs will be here later this week through the weekend. I am looking forward to seeing them. I miss them terribly. (I've got to be only person who says that!) They are so awesome and I'm looking forward to seeing my FIL (big tall guy) with this tiny baby! I have a feeling I'm going to cry tears of joy a lot this weekend.
I have a hair appointment today that I've been looking forward to for months! My mom is coming to watch the boys, but they're saying the roads could be icy. So now I'm nervous that she won't be able to come and I'll have to cancel, but of course safety is the first priority.
I told DH earlier this year that I'd be perfectly happy to move to PR, southern CA or FL, or another tropical climate, and I stand by that statement.

B is the same way with the witching hour basically up screaming and fussing asleep at 9:45 up for our first feed at 3:45. It's amazing!
raven It's nice to hear about a good IL relationship. Gives me hope as a future MIL. I have a decent relationship with mine, but I wouldn't say I'm excited to see them.
I'm sorry so many people are sleeping poorly. It's good to have a reminder this is all totally normal though. That being said, I don't know how much longer I can handle feeds every 1.5 hours throughout the night.

Got our second night in a row with a 6-hour stretch of sleep. We paid for it last night though with her being crazy gassy, having to keep her upright and bouncing, cluster feeding and gas drops from 7:30-12. At least DS was exhausted and crashed by 7:30 so we were only dealing with one fussy pants.

Last night was not our best. E woke up more often than usual. He was fussy even when he was eating and kept biting my nipples. They might fall off today.
I don't know what to do about the swaddle either. He fights with it do much and spends half the night kicking and grunting. But if we don't swaddle him he wakes up as soon as he hits the bed :/

DS went to sleep around 9 last night and when he woke up at 12 instead of 2 I was so disappointed. But then he slept from 1 to 530, so I forgave him Excited that my DH is home for a snow day! His work never closes, but we got major ice so we are sitting in bed together drinking coffee while the baby sleeps!
Snow day today for the girl. Already sent her out the door because she was driving me nuts. Had her clean the car for dad to get to work. Now I told her to build a snow family. Let's see how long I can keep her out of my hair today so I can get some stuff done around the house.
I got my husband's sleeping schedule fixed and I'm so happy. He's so bad about staying up all night then sleeping all day and it drives me crazy. He's like a kid. Last night around 11:30 I asked him if he wanted to go to sleep. He said no quite grumpily and then proceeded to pass out on the end of the bed. I had to wake him up to get him to move so I could get in bed after I turned all the lights out and such. And now baby girl is giving us a 5 hour stretch and a 4 hour stretch of sleep the last two nights. I'm a pretty happy mamma.

I'm submitting my resume today for a job opportunity that I'm really excited about but I have to finish up my cover letter. What's a really professional way of saying "I have the skills, talent, and drive to kick ass at this job. You should hire me becuase we'd be great together?"
I'm also feeling all sorts of guilt for applying for another position while I'm on materinty leave. My current job is good but the new job would almost double my pay, has great benefits, and would be fantastically challenging.
Also, my baby is starting to look like a cute baby instead of having the wrinkled old man newborn look. She is so cute today!

I feel like I've been gone forever! I lurked a few times over the weekend, but I was busy with visiting with family.
I noticed we are voting on a name for this site. I'm not a fan of any of those names. Anything with stork, and snarky shouldn't be in the name for this site.

I had to take Liam to urgent care on Friday. He's had a rash for a while and nothing is clearing it, and it started to bleed. They gave me anti fungal cream and it's still not working! I'm gonna take him back in! In the meantime, I'll be stripping all my cloth diapers today and putting him in prefolds to "air him" out.

Sorry about the rash. We got a really bad one here too but on his face. I finally took him in and we are putting hydrocortisone on twice a day and it's almost cleared up after only a couple of days. I hope your little one feels better soon. It's no fun when they are uncomfortable.

Beau's crying the poor dog is outside in -1 cold barking and I'm stuck on the toilet from something I ate yesterday. This whole day is already bad and it's not even 9 yet.

Aaaaand after an hour and a half I fired the nanny. She was going to bring her daughter with her while babysitting, and I found out she doesn't vaccinate.
So now I have 2 more weeks of quality mommy-baby time to selfishly enjoy, but I have to find another nanny ASAP.

Good call on letting her go like a bad habit! I mean I'm all for freedom of choice to a certain extent, but that also gives us the choice to not expose our kids to antivaxers.
