The twinkies were absolute monsters last night/this morning. C wants to go back to eating every 3 hours - why?!?! I may have told him, when he was up screaming at 3 am, that he was being an a$$hole. Oops.
But seriously, why would a baby go back to a 3 hour feeding schedule after being on a 4 hour since they got he from the NICU? Ideas? They just went through what I think/thought was a growth spurt a couple weeks ago.

I think there is supposed to be an 8 week growth spurt and then another at 12 weeks / 3 months, so they might be hitting the 3 month growth spurt now?

We had a busy day yesterday, too! We went to lunch with my mom and some of her co-workers, and later we went to my work so everyone could meet Tommy (and H needed his car inspected by the end of the month--I work at a garage/tire retailer) today we're still in jammies. Yep.
IVF+ICSI March 2016 (6R/5M/5F - 3 embryos on ice) 4/7/16: first ever BFP! EDD: 12/17/16 DS Arrived via C-Section 12/19/16! FET #1 June 2019 - 1 embryo didn't survive thaw & the one that did didn't stick around. BFN FET #2 September 2019 - last embryo didn't survive thaw.
Hey everyone - I'm still not sleeping without medication but at this point I'm just accepting it for now. I'm seeing my dr again next week, and I've started counseling, too. Just trying to do everything I can to get back to normal. Not sleeping was ruining me.
I'm also really trying to eat small meals throughout the day, that's helped keep the overnight hunger pains away the last couple of nights.
I'm really hoping it's just a hormonal change that will settle itself soon - as in before I have to go back to work in a few weeks!
I'm just hanging out with baby today and her two month appointment is in a couple of hours.
We're having sleep issues too. She was going consistently 4-5 hours. Last night it was back to 3 hours for the second time this week. I think it may be growth related because she's eating for longer too.

Winnifred The important thing is your sleeping. Hope you can wean off the meds soon. Maybe once baby sleeps thru the night? Or you go back to work? Being at work has chilled me out parenting-wise. I still feel like a chicken with it's head cut off each morning. But last night I actually had a good laugh with Leo over his antics. Being away from both kids does me good.

I know it's probably a little early for anyone in this BMB, but has anyone started taking out new toys like jumperoos or exersaucers? Mine are getting so bored of the rainforest play mat. I need something new.
I'm gonna recommend the Wonder Weeks book again, it has been really great at explaining Abigail's behavior changes. Knowing that a lot of it is cognitive stuff helps. 8 weeks is when they start making sense of patterns. So they are learning a lot of things that are foundations for big milestones. Learning that their hands are controllable so eventually they can grab things kind of stuff. I think the next jump is around 12 weeks. So those of you with near 12 weekers might be prepping for the next jump with the no sleep thing.
We have an easy day planned today. Going to dh's work for lunch but lazy day otherwise.
@kc295905, I flipped Abigail over for tummy time yesterday and she went straight to sleep. She slept for an hour on her play mat. You know they've got to be tired when they fall asleep on all those bright colors and toys.
requiressnacks we do multiple "activities" during play time to help them from getting bored. We use the activity mat, sit-me-up's, tummy time, and then I do some one-on-one play. I stand them on there feet, tickle, sit up, etc.
However, I am dying to take this out of the box and have them use it but I'm pretty sure they're not big enough yet:

Yeah, that's kind of what I do. We have a rotation. I can't wait until they can play together because FFFC.....I find playing with babies to be super boring.
@kc295905 haha! All of mine have done it. Baby did it a couple weeks ago because I couldn't get to him in time while pumping and then going to put the bottles away. Lol. There's always an obligatory pic.

I think I started using the exersaucer and jumperoo with DS1 and 2 around 4 months or so. To keep them from flopping around with excitement in the exersaucer, I'd stick a folded blanket behind or in front of them. They couldn't do too much in the jumperoo, but it was good for a change of scenery and position for a little bit.

There is also a Wonder Weeks app that has a lot of the information - I think it was maybe $2.

My mom is getting me that book for my birthday next week!!! I had it in my wish list on amazon after you mentioned it.

I was given that very same thing from my sister in law. It's so cool and then when they start to walk you can detach the seat and they can walk around it.

I'm having the BEST day. I took DH to work and DD to daycare and worked from home which consists of a couple of meetings and doing a WalMart run, dropping stuff off at Savers and picking up lunch all while catching up with my sister in Colorado on the phone. I'm getting the laundry done and a bunch of other stuff because Jane is at daycare! This weekend I can just relax and hang with her.
It's snowing here ...all weekend and I'm really in the mood to spring clean, but I want to open all the windows and I want it to be warm out. Oh well, it'll come.
So I worked out before work yesterday so now I'm in the mindset of eat everything in site. I've got to keep going and get past this. I want to feel good physically again. The endorphins are sure nice.
Shopping at Walmart alone was amazing. I'm normally a Target girl, but I can't pass up Walmart's baby clothes prices.
Just decided to institute a new plan over here, I'm going to start getting up really early and working out, will continue to stay active throughout the day. Maybe I'm just not doing enough at home all day with the baby and staying in bed too long?
We just had our two month shots, poor baby! My Friday confession is that I laughed at my screaming baby!! Lol. She lost her mind. Currently snuggling and getting the Tylenol ready...
