Was it a learn as you go situation or did you already know all about it? I really feel like it could be my passion but I wasn't kidding about researching as I go this is the first chance I've ever had to actually garden.
We know nothing. We put good soil in our planter boxes, add seedlings or seeds according to the recommendations on the packets, and hope for the best. I have read a handful of books about gardening but tbh I know nothing.
This is really great to hear. I was thinking I could just follow instructions and read blogs. Good to know

That's how I am. I've had a garden for at least 15 years and still don't know much. lol I followed a local gardening blog on what is good to plant, timing, soil etc. That helped me a ton at the beginning.
The farmers at our local farmer's market are helpful too. We dealt with blight in our tomatoes 2 years ago and they advised us to rotate our crops.
Our home was the first actual home on our street. It used to be a farm, owned and run by my great aunt and uncle. I'm excited to get a garden going. The soil here is great. My parents live nextdoor on what used to be the actual farm, and My dad has a sick garden every year.

I think I'm going to try a smaller container garden this year for tomatoes, zuchini, and herbs. We have raised beds in our backyard, but our fight with weeds was exhausting last year. I don't think I have it in me to tackle a full-on garden with a newborn. Plus, letting the beds lay fallow with leaf mulch for a year should be good for them.
H has grand garden plans for this year. Weed, tomatoes, zuchinni, so many peppers, cucumbers, all the herbs (did I mention weed?), lettuce and... pumpkins. Im least excited for pumpkins. They spread too much.
Dinner was so good. DD ate all of it except for the onions. And I cleaned up as I went so my kitchen is clean other than needing to mop. We are putting Storks on now to watch. My kid has a ton of energy since she took a really late nap.
I thought my baby had fingernails that grow freakishly fast, but it occurred to me that I am probably just more aware of it because his goal in life is to get his fingers in my mouth, eyes, and nose.
I eventually want to plant a veggie garden but I'm not sure where we would do it right now. We are having our landscaper completely redo our flower bed with the exception of the rose bushes. And planting two fruitless plum trees. We are extending our patio so maybe we can do some raised garden beds with veggies. I know nothing about gardening.
