Hi all! DS is almost 5 so we've gotten rid of a good amount of the baby crap. So what do we need for a new baby now?? There seems to be lots of new stuff.
We have a few big things still, a crib, highchair, stroller. But we need to get some sort of swing again, a tub, and another infant seat because I'm pretty sure our old one is expired.

My kids are only 2.5 years apart, so I still had pretty much everything and didn't need a ton of new stuff.
We reused/will be reusing:
Swing Bouncy/vibration chair thing PNP Crib Crib mattress and sheets Most clothes (had to get some new ones since DS1 is a March baby and DS2 is a November baby.) Dresser/changing table Changing table pad and covers Beco carrier High chair Car seat (not expired yet) SwaddleMe swaddles Towels
Bought new:
Bottles and nipples Pump and pump parts Diaper bag Play mat Wash cloths A&A swaddles Burp cloths Blankets Nursery decor Glider (old one went into DS1's big kid room) Baby toys Stroller (one of those sit and stand ones) Baby toys
Must haves: Glider- we got a new one for DS1's room and moved the wooden one to the nursery since it matches the nursery (DH picked the colors of the fabric 😒) Swing/bouncer- we have a graco that doubles as both Activity center- DS1 hated the exersaucer and preferred a stand alone jumper. I finally just got rid of our exersaucer (it was gifted to us as a "omg you'll use this all the time!" gift) Swaddles- recommend A&A, swaddleme (the Velcro swaddles), and halo sleepsack swaddles Play mat Baby carrier(s) Place for baby to sleep in your room (we used a pack n play)

Thanks guys! I JUST gave away the PnP too lol. I didn't have an RnP for DS but I think I'm going to buy one this time; if you've used one, can they sleep in that at night? Or is it better for just shorter spans?
I do need to invest in another carrier; I have a Moby but I want something smaller this time. A friend of mine is super into wraps and has a ton so I'm going to see if I can try a few and maybe buy one from her. We'll see.

Ours are/will be 2.25 years apart:
A second glider (I still use the one in the toddler's room every day) A new/updated monitor that can do two rooms Some clothes to fill in gaps (apparently my first only wore PJs for an entire size) Fresh pump parts/tubing More cloth diapers Car seat Fresh nursing bras/tanks for me Infant sized binkies And +1 to carriers! I wore DS1 a lot and my stash has gotten rather, um, large... but baby was used as an excuse to buy a few more.
We kept everything, though, so that's helped minimize the shopping list.

This reminds me. I need to come over and try carriers!!!
We still have almost everything from DS but I'll need some new pacifiers, some extra clothes (different seasons and we find out sex in a couple days), a second diaper genie (17 months apart, I'll definitely have 2 in diapers), diapers, a new convertible car seat eventually but our infant seat is still good, a few extra bibs because the dog chewed up some of DS's. Maybe a couple extra baby toys because again the dog destroyed a few. And I'm keeping my out for a sale/good used double stroller.
My dog doesn't touch any of the baby stuff while we're home but when we go out she chews anything that got accidentally left on the ground. On the plus side DS will have a really good incentive to pick up his toys when he's a bit older
I just made a registry last weekend to keep track and for completion discounts
STMs - do I need a diaper genie??? Is this super important? I honestly feel like we will just take the diapers to the garbage pail....
We didn't use one until we met moved when DS was 6 months old. When they're little the diapers don't smell much (I BFed so I don't know if it's different for FF babies). We just emptied our little regular garbage in our bedroom every couple days as it got filled up and put it down the garbage shute (we were in an apartment)
Now though I love my diaper genie, they go through a gross transitional stage where it stinks but it's not ploppable and it's so much easier with a diaper genie. I could take the diapers down to the outdoor garbage immediately but it's inconvenient enough for me that I don't mind buying the refills. The refills come in packs of 3, and I think each 3 pack lasts me about 2-3 months.
I want a diaper genie for the newborn stage this time because my 1 yr old likes to pick things out of the garbage and DNW dirty diapers thrown around.

I loved our diaper genie but only the one that has the step open. I had one that you had to open with your hand and I didn't like it. We never had an issue with odor. DD's room is far from the kitchen so I did not want to have to walk the dirty diapers across the house to throw them away. Baby boy's nursery is much closer to the kitchen but I still like the convenience of a diaper genie.

Our kids will be 3 1/2 years apart and we kept most of the big stuff (FX it's still in good usable condition). Luckily most of the big stuff is pretty gender neutral except for the swing but baby boy will be using a pink butterfly swing because I refuse to buy a new one. The new things we bought/are buying: Nursery furniture (DD kept hers and we converted the crib to a bed) Stroller with a sit or stand option for when DD is lazy and won't walk Bassinet (did not like the RNP for night time sleep) New baby tub Baby carrier Bouncer seat Monitor that has 2 cameras since we still use a monitor in DD's room Boppy Bottles/nipples Play mat Aden&Anais burpy bibs

Our kids will be almost 2.5 years apart so we have most everything. The things we are getting are:
1. glider (I never had one for DS and I want one this time) 2. infant carseat (AA lost ours on a flight when DS was 6 months old so we just got a convertible as a replacement) 3. another backseat mirror 4. double jogging stroller (won't get this til maybe Christmas) 5. More cloth diapers 6. 2-3 different bottles to try 7. Another monitor/camera
I love my diaper genie, and I second getting the one with the step open thing. Costco also sells refills.
Target also has their own brand refills that fit the diaper genie. They work just as well and are cheaper (and often go on sale or have a cartwheel deal for them).

You know, I thought I tried the Target brand before and they didn't really fit. It must have been some other brand (I seriously can't keep track of a lot of this stuff), I'll have to pick up some next time I'm there!

What we did buy: -different brand baby carrier & wrap - new crib + mattress - changing table - a new playmat - double stroller - and clothes because he's a boy and she's a girl lol
Thanks! See, this is the stuff I'm talking about, this is new! And compact! The swing I had when DS was a baby was ginormous. Hence why we sold it when he outgrew it.
I highly recommend the graco glider combo for baby. Ours is slightly different - it has the removable bouncer seat but no bassinet. It also has a sound machine and vibration

I weirdly kept my giant baby swing. It still works. It only runs on D batteries, no way to plus it in. I definitely should have sold it but dang it still works.
My friend leant me her mamaroo though so we shall see which the bambino prefers.

onesweetworld, we got the arm & hammer version of the diaper genie that dispenses baking soda every time you shut it. We love it and still use it for DD's pull-ups from overnight. It's nice not having to take them all out to the garage.

My 2 are going to be 3 years apart. We were living in a condo- all on one floor- when DD was a baby and now are in a house where we use the basement play room quite a bit, so I need to double up on quite a few things so we have a spot to put baby downstairs, too. We also got a 2nd car. We're team green this time, and knew that DD was going to be a girl, so we're needing some gender-neutral stuff, too.
Here's what I've bought so far (due in April):
Standard Tula 3 Newborn gender-neutral sleep & plays Kick & play piano Infantino Mei Tai carrier 2 gender-neutral crib sheets Gender-neutral colored changing pad cover Bouncy seat
And here's what's on the "must-have" list still to get:
2nd infant car seat base- our infant seat doesn't expire for another year Laundry hamper for nursery Sound machine- DD still uses hers One more neutral crib sheet Boon grass 2 more neutral changing pad covers Pacifiers O-ball- DD's got shoved in the corner of a toy box and warped Gender-neutral towels Cool mist humidifier- DD still uses hers
DS will be 27 months apart from DD. So we basically still have everything.
