I'm curious as to whether anyone has done this (whether it be this pregnancy or another) or has a close friend who has done it- I'm looking for experiences. Our Mat21 came back clear, but the accuracy rate can be lower due to the loss of one of the twins. So, I'm opting for the amino, since we were not allowed to participate in the state testing. I'm terrified of needles as is, so I'm just looking for good (and bad too) experiences.....
My friend had one after her NIPT came back inconclusive twice. She is also super terrified of needles and medical procedures in general. She said one of the hardest parts was that she had to stay super still and was nervous the whole time that she'd move without thinking. She also said she got super nervous when she saw the needle, so maybe try not to look at that (I've never had one myself so I don't know how feasible that is). Hers turned out good and she now has a healthy three year old and she says it was totally worth it just to not have that worry through the pregnancy. Good luck! I know it's not a fun procedure but at least will give you peace of mind moving forward.
