Body Changes

Any noticeable differences?
My wife's been extra sensitive and sore up top, noticeable veins spidering to the nipples; and it is looking like she has a little bump going already. We keep speculating if it is twins since everything that is going on with her seems to be earlier than average and intensified. 

She is nauseous, has shortness of breath and gets tired by 730pm almost nightly.

This is the first pregnancy.

Nothing for me - although I might be more hungry than usual. I noticed that a few days before I took the HPT, it's like I need to eat something every few hours or my stomach will literally rumble in hunger (no it's not gas lol!!)

Im also wondering if mine is twins, as we have twins on both side (and natural triplets on my side!) my grandad is a twin, and DH's aunt/uncle are twins. We were very surprised when our first child wasn't a twin. I honestly only want a singleton pregnancy though!

beefinch, Re: twins, other than the aunt/uncle who are obviously fraternal, are the other twins/triplets identical or fraternal? It makes a difference! One is a fluke while the other has a genetic component.

I actually don't know about my Grandad, unfortunately he passed away when I was 1. Never thought to ask my Dad if my Grandad was identical or not. I know his twin was a man though, but he has also passed away 25+ years ago (they were the 3rd eldest out of 11 siblings) but there was also another set of twins in those 11 siblings, they weren't identical. I was very close to 1 of those twins, he passed away last year (they are number 10 & 11, my great Grandmother passed away giving birth to them) and the remaining twin lives in Scotland and I've only seen him a handful of times. I have a feeling that my Grandad wasn't identical, as I have seen some pictures.


The triplets are all identical, and are also on my Dad's side. They are my Dads uncles sons, the uncle passed away a couple years ago. The mother also passed away giving birth to them, they were all very premature and unfortunately have physical problems due to it. I think they are all at least 65+ now, and all live together which I think is adorable.

I know twins skip a generation, and from my Grandads children, they are only 5 grandchildren, and none have had twins so far! My cousin has just announced his pregnancy with his fiancé, and another single child. I'm the only one out of the grandchildren to have a second child so far, so I'm wondering what it'll be!

Most "symptoms" I have like bloating and sore boobs are from the progesterone I'm taking. The only thing I've got going on that is a tell tale pregnancy symptom for me is waking up in the middle of the night to pee. I've been waking up between 2 and 3 every morning, and that's not typical for me when I'm not pregnant.

I dont have any symptoms, and didn't this early in with my DD. I am extremely moody and cranky but I'm not sure if it's hormonal or the fact I'm fighting a pretty nasty sinus infection and feel like crap. Maybe both. My poor H.

I only have some really slight symptoms. My boobs are a tiny bit sore, I have a tiny bit of cramping and nausea and I think I'm peeing slightly more. Half of those might be in my head though!

@thatgoldbitch acid reflux was my biggest symptom with my first too. To the point where I was getting sick several times a day from about week 7-18. It was not fun. I didn't have any heart burn with it, but just this bloated very full feeling after I would eat, and then I would get sick. It was so weird. I'm already feeling that bloated, full feeling which isn't a good sign...I don't think I had any symptoms at this point before.
Ive been a bit moody and emotional lately, which I haven't minded too much. Sometimes it's nice to have a good cry, and at least now I have an excuse!

@thatgolfbitch,  That was how I thought to test yesterday - I was laying in bed feeling like crap and all I could think was "I need to take a shower, I'm gross" and then I realized that there was no other reason for me to feel that way!

I'm also feeling the being tired! I went to bed last night at 10pm, I normally play on my phone for a good hour before rolling over and going to sleep. I was asleep by 11pm, which only ever happens when I'm fighting a cold (which I'm not) and I've been napping while DS has his nap for the past couple days, and still sleeping at night fine. I used to not be able to nap as it would take me hours to fall asleep.

I'm also getting all the stretching sensation/very small cramping quite a lot. The cramping makes me nervous but the day before my BFP I had SO much cramping all day, so I'm not to worried. Plus I'm still doing HPT's every morning/afternoon as I'm one of those where the line gets darker as the day goes on. FMU doesn't work as well for me as the afternoons. I'm using FR every morning and a cheapie in afternoon just to watch the line progression as my doctors refused a beta test for me, hmph.

I've also been still testing. I tested yesterday and lines weren't that much darker which worried me. But I figure I just haven't given it enough time. And my FRER line was a bit darker and a lot quicker to appear, so that's good.

I tried to find the Clearblue test with weeks predictor but it has apparently dropped off the face of the planet. I guess there was a recall?

The clearblue weeks predictor are everywhere here, I actually just got some yesterday. Took one and it came back saying 1-2 weeks which I obviously know anyway. Going to take the second one, probably Monday just to make sure lol.

Have you checked online? I find they are £2 or more cheaper online here.

My FRER was the same darkness as yesterday's one. But my cheapie is considerably darker than yesterday's one, weird lol

I tested Monday, then yesterday and I'll test again tomorrow with a weeks predictor test that I've had for a couple of months now.  I had no idea that there had been a recall!

BTW - I would totally test even more but my sister is staying with us this week and I didn't want to seem like a freak LOL

Ugghhh same except 3 year old. I guess the one perk of working at 5 is that I am off at 1:30, and can nap a bit before picking up DD at 4:30.

Honestly my dressing table is full of HPT's, at least 20/25 from the past 4 days 😂
DH calls me crazy each time he sees them.

I have no idea why I'm so obsessed with them, with DS I think I only took like 3 and that was it. They are in his memory basket.

This baby is going to need one massive basket 😂

Also the pressure on my bladder has started. I'm noticing it each time I pee, it's like a pushing sensation. I have been peeing more than usual, but its deffo like a weird sensation going on.

I'd be testing that much too if I wasn't getting my betas done. I'm (not so) patiently waiting to get my results online from my test this morning.

I've been a bit crampy all along, no different feelings today thus far!

How long does it take normally for them to put them up?

I seem to get the results within about 5 hours! That's pretty impressive to me. Anyway, it's all good news, went from 140 two days ago to 420 today, so more than doubling.

I'm done with blood draws for awhile now. I'll have an ultrasound at the fertility clinic on the 22nd when I'm back from vacation I really hope I'll make it through the vacation feeling at least half decent. But we're just going to Phoenix to watch spring training baseball so it'll be pretty relaxing.

Great betas! I usually get my blood drawn at 7:30-8am and hear by 11 or so. Mine were 236 on Monday (up from 66 Friday). I go back next Monday for betas again, and then we'll probably schedule an ultrasound. My RE always does 3 rounds of betas.

Add me to the "testing all the time" club. I'm out of cheap ones now, so I have one more CB digi I'm holding onto until end of next week. Last Thursday was my first positive on a digi and I got 1-2 weeks. Took another digi today and it came up 2-3, so I'm feeling reassured despite thinking that my FRER lines haven't gotten dark as quickly as my last pregnancy.

Exhaustion hit me hard the last few days. Glad to know I'm not alone, at least. Last time around I was nearly falling asleep at red lights on the way home.

I still have one digi too, I think I'll use it next week sometime b/c, why not?! 

I'm lucky that I'm still pretty energetic, but like, oddly energetic!

Man, my nipples are in some mood today. Normally don't get sore nipples at all, but I put on my bra this morning and nearly yelped.

Was so glad to get home for the day and take it off!

I know that's TMI but thing will get a lot worse than sore nipples in a couple months time 😂 I look forward to TMI Tuesdays when we start getting more Nov17 mums! It was my highlight of my week when I was heavily pregnant with DS 😂

My boobs feel full but no pain yet. No real body changes yet. Fullness in my belly. I didn't start showing till at least 6 months the first time around. I expect the second time around to be a bit sooner.

I don't remember when I started showing with DD. Hmm. I think somewhere in the mid teens? I had extra amniotic fluid with her but not until a bit later.

I need to hide this pregnancy at work until like... 12 weeks. So I am hoping I don't show super early. Who knows.

I bet you'd be able to hide it till then! Maybe wear a lot of loose flowy shirts( that may give it away though lol)

I started showing around 18 weeks with DS, and I was skinner than I am now so I don't expect to really look pregnant till a lot later on.

DS ruined the muscles I had on my stomach, now they are just extra skin 😂 he was a big boy, and at the end of his pregnancy I was measuring 45 weeks, and I was only 1 day over due lol

It was two men, even. Who weren't even parents of my students, they were parents from the other class I was on the trip with. It was so weird and jarring.

There is no way I was showing enough for either of them to have made that kind of comment confidently. I had no idea how to respond to either one. I wish I could have just said "mind your own fucking business" but. Professionalism or something. So I stammered awkwardly and ended up just telling them because WTF.

I hadn't told my colleagues yet, so then of course I felt like I had to tell them later that day before they could hear from our parent community or even our students, and it was all just SO weird. PgAL brain made me really anxious about saying anything before I was ready, and I felt forced to.

I'm not sure what to even think about that story Miss Killjoy. It's just so shocking that 2 guys even cared that much to make a big stink. Hopefully you'll be able to tell when you are ready this time.
