LO got a doll for her bday and her reaction to it was pretty hilarious. At first she was kind scared of it, like it was a new person. Then she was trying to get it to talk. Then she carried it around for 10 minutes periodically kissing/biting its head. Then got pissed when I gave it a hug and batted it out of my hands and climbed in my lap.

It's my last week at this job!! Thanks to maternity leave I am still in the hole 20 hours so I don't plan on working TOO hard this week when half of it is unpaid anyway. My motto is "what are they gonna do, fire me?"
J will not eat table food at home. DCP says he eats well there, but even when I try the same foods at home he won't have anything to do with them. He went from eating just about everything I put in front of him to refusing just about everything. It's getting frustrating. He's currently yelling "all done" at me when he hasn't touched his food.

Well LO is allergic to ants. We spent the evening at urgent care but everything is fine now. The doctor said that they may want to do some more allergy testing when she is a bit older. She is all loopy on Benadryl and sleeping now.

Oh no! How scary! Do you mean an ant bite?
Ya. She was playing outside and hit an ant hill with her hand, she got like maybe 5 bites on her hand then a few minutes later just erupted in hives everywhere. Her neck was especially bad so we took her jic but she was breathing ok.

Hey ladies!!! Popping in to say hello and I miss you all. I hope (if you will have me) that I'm in a place that I can finally start to be more active again. I'm more than happy to re-intro if anyone feels it's necessary or update or what not. Just wanted to say a quick hello for now though. So crazy we are at the 1 year mark!! Woo hoo!!

LO is doing pretty well, the bites still look awful, and she definitely has a few more than we thought originally. Her hives are gone and she just has a slight patchy rash in some places. They said everything but the bites should be gone in 24-48 hours so she hopefully she is all fine by her party this weekend! I will be calling our big guys to come again ASAP! It's just been so warm here.
almachs0786 welcome back! Definitely give us an update!

Wow I'm so glad she is ok. It never occurred to me that someone could be allergic to ant bites. Its a good thing to watch out for.
Do they think its something she'll outgrow? Do they want you to see an allergist?

That's awful! When I was 5 I stepped on an ant hill and got attacked by ants. I didn't have an allergic reaction, but it was horrible. It hurt so bad. I hope she feels better soon!

I didn't know it either. We just were at urgent care, not her regular doctor because it happened after the office closed, but it was a pediatric urgent care, fortunately we live super close to a just for kids urgent care so they are used to babies, etc... the doctor there said she will probably need to see an allergist when she is a bit older, we will talk to her pediatrician about it and see what she thinks. Idk if it's related but LO also has a mild soy allergy/intolerance they think, but that the doctor did think she would outgrow, and the reaction there was nothing like this... she has had mosquito bites before with no unusual reaction but no other bites or stings so idk. Her 1 year appt is Monday so I'm sure we will talk more about it.
Also if you don't have a thing of children's Benadryl in your house go get some! It is incredibly fast acting, within a minute of taking it her hives stopped spreading and already began going down. Apparently you never know when or where an allergy can strike!

Were they red ants or the normal black ants. I'm now going to be freaked out about ants.
I hope she grows out of it because as an allergy kid growing up, I know they suck big time.
My mom gets in today everyone else tomorrow. Now we find out if it was totally insane to have my mom, dad, his GF and MIL in the house at the same time!
A got discharged from the physical therapist yesterday! She's really happy with her progress but says if she's still not walking in a couple of months or I am worried I can call her. A is now pulling up and starting to cruise, walking while holding hands, and just yesterday (after our appointment) she started letting go and standing on her own for a few seconds at a time! I think she's caught up for the most part.
