Odd GTKY: Who Caught Your Bouquet/Garter?

I was just watching the Today show and I'm wondering: who caught the bouquet and garter at your wedding?

If you didn't have a wedding or didn't do the toss, give us a picture of, oh I know know.  Surprise me.



At our wedding, my little 12 yr old cousin caught the bouquet and my 20-something brother caught the garter.  AWWWWKWARD.
(She was all into it too; she didn't realize the implications and was totally egging my brohter on as he put the garter on her ARM, because no way in hell was he doing it on her leg.).

My cousin, who was 13ish, caught the bouquet. I don't think we did the garter.

One of my college roommates caught the bouquet (she was already engaged so she did end up being the next to get married!) & the boyfriend of one of my other college roommates caught the garter. He's no longer in the picture.

MHs cousin caught the bouquet that was 8ish and was the first time I had met her, and my brother also caught the garter. For real... weird MissMusic

We had a very small reception and everyone that came was either a family member or their significant other. So when my cousin caught my bouquet none of the other single guys even went for the garter (since they were either her brother or a male cousin, but they did stand there) and let her boyfriend catch it. Then the actual putting of the garter on her leg got risque because my family is out of control.

EDT: oh and I forgot... I had 4 cousins and their dates attend my wedding. Two of the couples had been together 2 years or more (one 4 years). The cousin that caught the bouquet was the cousin in the 2 year relationship...well the girlfriend of the cousin in the 4 year relationship actually threw a huge fit and cried that she wasn't the one that caught it and caused a huge scene. I shit you not.  Everyone else that was there just kind of played it off and my cousin (her boyfriend) was so embarrassed and I didn't blame him because I would have wanted to crawl in a hole if that was me.  Fun times.

A good friend of mine caught the bouquet. I forgot to put the garter on, so we skipped that one.
Fun fact: In a 2 year span, I caught 6 bouquets. No pressure, DH!

A good friend caught the bouquet. Still not married, but has a serious bf and just had a baby. I don't remember who caught the garter. I will have to ask H.

Our friends and old neighbors in VA caught them, and they were living together, but not engaged. I think they got engaged about a year or two later and married 3 years after our wedding and I was a bridesmaid in their wedding.

The only reason I remember is because they were already a couple, and they were our only friends from VA that were able to make it.... since they had just moved closer to MN where we had the wedding.

We did get an awesome picture of two of my friends diving for it. Haha. And I broke the chandelier when I hit it with the bouquets.
I didn't wear a garter and we didn't do a toss.
I brought my bouquet into school the following monday and used it as a science center in my PreK room. It rocked.

One of my closest friends caught the bouquet. It was a somewhat emotional moment because she was a widow. Her husband had committed suicide when we were about 23 years old. So 4 years later she caught my bouquet and then she actually was the next one to get married! She met a great guy and got married 2 years later. We did not do a garter.

My sister in law caught the bouquet, she is still not married, but she does live with her boyfriend and they have a baby.

We didn't do a garter because just the thought of it makes my shy husband freak out.

We didn't do a bouquet or garter toss. Most of my friends were already married so I just imagined my sister being the only one out there with a bunch of little kids. I'm not a fan of the garter toss so we didn't do it. I think my single friends were grateful.

DH's friend from college caught the bouquet. And his brother caught the garter. We didn't have them do anything together though.

We had a very small wedding with only immediate family and grandparents so there wasn't a dance or reception after for there to be a bouquet toss. We had a small supper after the ceremony and then a big BBQ 3 months later when it was warm. I had a crappy photographer, one of my biggest regrets, so I don't have great pictures. All of my pictures are the same exact pose, us standing together in front of the altar, but here are 2 of my favorite pics:

My H's friend from high school caught the bouquet. She actually ended up getting engaged the next week after our wedding. Her BF already had it planned, but it was kind of neat for that to happen. And my 20 year old cousin caught the garter.

I don't remember who caught my bouquet... One of our crazy friends caught the garter and i only remember because he was hammered and wore it around is head the rest of the night and we have a ridiculous pic of him haha!!

I'm too old for that stuff. We didn't do either. But I did hire a set of swing dancers to "teach" everyone a few steps when we started the dancing. It was pretty hilarious as only 2 couples could even begin to swing dance. I cannot use tinypic at work and it doesn't work on my ipad. No more pictures from me.

We did not do either. We ended up running out of time and had to much fun dancing to worry about the toss. A girl that one of my H's friends was dating actually came up to me and asked for the bouquet. I gave it to her. They ended up getting married in a civil ceremony a year later (it was his 3rd marriage and her 2nd).
They are still married so I guess it was good luck for her.

bliz1712, You just made my day. I loved our photographer - she made me look prettier than I am in real life. I would be a wedding planner in a heartbeat if I didn't have to work with brides.

Lies xanthepants, all lies... you are beautiful in person. And I'm sure those photos are just a testament to how gorgeous you were that day - and I wasn't even there! I'm sure you looked as good, if not better than what they depict.

And I too would be an event/wedding planner if I ever changed careers... I already have a head start since I planned the last 7 years of our company holiday parties, and various other events and picnics for our office in VA!
