Thanks for the commiseration guys. At least I have one "easy" child still. @peachsmama if he knows that time outs mean he's in trouble I'd just keep it up.
Why are 3 year old such assholes? I woke up in a great mood this morning, S slept the best she has in months. Then I decided to take the girls to the library, and a friend met us there. H did fine until about the last 15 minutes. She was running around, not listening, etc. So I picked up some of the toys she was playing with, got S bundled up and then told her it was time to go. She threw a huge fit and kept asking me, over and over, for her friend to come to our house. I told her no about 12 times. Then I put her into the car, not buckled, so I could get S in and she was trying to climb in the back, open her door, etc. I yelled at her, so she cried the whole way home. Then when we got home I told her that if she whined she was going straight to time out. 2 minutes later she was whining about something so time out it was. Then I had to wait for her to stop crying before I would start the timer for her time out. Eventually she stopped, did her time, and then sat at the table to eat lunch. Where she proceeded to screw around and take forever to actually eat. I got my lunch, ate it (at a normal speed) and she still wasn't finished. I gave her about 15 minutes longer then put her in her room and told her it was nap time. I went back out to the living room to nurse S. When I was done with that and laid her down I went to check on H. She opened a bottle of lotion that was on her dresser and got it all over the wall, carpet, and some toys. I threw the toys away and cleaned everything else up. She is finally asleep, thank god.

Cadence has started telling me her feet hurt at night when we're doing bedtime. I don't know if they actually hurt or she's just trying to stall, but I do rub them a bit just in case. The other night I asked where on her foot it hurt and she said, "Just on this one little toe."....guess it's just a stall tactic.

It's a stall tactic! Don't give in! Maybe these three year olds consult a blog on new stall tactics. C has been complaining of belly aches so I lay with him longer.
Oh yes, she says her tummy hurts every single night. I tell her it is because her tummy is tired and she needs to go to sleep to make it feel better.
trtlcrzy I need to get one of those! O stopped napping.
I was considering dropping H's naps to see if that would help night sleep, but she still falls asleep pretty easily for nap and I need the break midday.
H woke up about an hour ago and so far is doing a better job of listening. The day isn't over, she still has lots of time to be naughty. I did have a talk with her and told her that she's not getting any chances this afternoon. I tell her once and then it's a time out.

C got his first daycare birthday party invite! We can't go through. I'm slightly annoyed cause there is only a phone number to rsvp, no email. Is it rude to text or do I need to call?

wineallthetime Every birthday party we've been invited to had only RSVP numbers and we all sent texts. I think it's the norm here. I just text my name, M's mom and that M will/will not be in attendance.
The text v. email etiquette question is good to know about! So far we've only invited family/close friends to B's parties so far so I just put my cell, which everyone already knows anyway. Next year will probably be the first that we include friends from school.

I rcvd one last month and it had both email and cell. I chose to text. I don't know why everyone here is making fun of email! I think that's a legit option. 😜
Omg I hate phone numbers on invites...Email all the way! I thought phones were only for the blue-hairs, it wouldn't cross my mind to text. We have mostly been invited to evite or paperless post parties though.

Right!? All about that email. I don't mind phone numbers if they say to call or text the rsvp. I hate talking on the phone, I need an option where I don't need to call you and have an awkward conversation. I always worry the phone is a home phone number and not a cell!
@surelycantbesrs we rented it last weekend! I liked it, one of the better ones that has come out lately, I thought!!
Add me to the group with kids that are being terrors lately. And the second one of them starts acting right another one loses it. The beginning of the month is always hard because dh ends up stuck at work late a lot and they push me to my limits.
We're busy getting ready for camping this weekend! It's suppose to be 80 up at the lake and cool at night! I can't wait! Someone hand me a beer and my book and I'll be in a chair on the lakes edge!!
