It's official. We have a crawler. I was just telling my mom that I thought he was going to skip it as he's begun pulling himself up and is more interested in standing and two days later he started crawling. Let the good times roll! Ds1 is a great cheerleader for him and was sooooo excited when he first crawled! It was so cute!
We have a crawler as well! He is mostly motivated by things he shouldn't have, i.e., my phone, cords, the remote, carpet cleaner. He is certainly getting better at it quickly. He crawled right over to the toys at the babysitter's this morning. L will be right there with him before you know it. She's taken a few crawling "steps" so far.

yup, pacifiers, remotes, phones, stray cheerios, and toys sister doesnt want her to have are all the motivators.

Hah! That's one thing the dog is good for...stray puff duty.

Another cord lover here. He doesn't officially crawl yet, but omg he can army crawl so fast to cords I didn't even know existed. He also likes stray carpet fibers and tufts of dog hair, which is basically a reminder to vacuum daily. 🙄
This weekend will be spent babyproofing. G crawled to me as I was getting ready this morning. It's so exciting/nervewracking to have a mobile baby.
Yeah we need to do the same. We've officially reached the era when running to the kitchen for a cup of coffee means coming back and finding the baby in a totally different room chewing on an electrical cord...
The gates are making their appearance this weekend. We need a few more. And some cabinet locks.

Yep!! Same here. Yesterday I went pee and came back to him chewing on the dog's bone. Lol
Top of the stairs gate is also a necessity. And we need to find a way to secure/hide the power strip behind DH's recliner. Cord city!
I have a kid that's a magnet for phones, remotes and cords too. How do they know everything they aren't supposed to have? Floor full of colorful toys that make sounds? No thanks, I'll squeeze myself into this space between the couch and end table to reach the phone cord-that's way more fun.
We have to start our baby proofing as well... DD is not mobile but has started trying to pull up to her knees on things. Everything needs to be secured to the wall!!
Stairs? STEPS?! My kid is a lump in comparison. He army crawls real well?
We're right there with ya! It's amazing how broad the range is for these gross motor milestones. I feel like my DS is just mastering skills that some of these kiddos were doing 2-3 months ago. Still all within normal though - it's important to remember that!
Definitely embracing my very cute potato! 😉 We have no stairs in the condo so pretty sure that won't be a skill she masters any time soon. I feel like this not being mobile yet is a long con... one day DD is just going to break out into a run and I won't be ready!!

oh yeah. I'm cool. DD didn't walk till 15 months so I know nothing but a bit of lumpiness. He's such my BABY that I have a hard time imagining such mobility anyway.
Ugh mobile baby is so challenging. Last night during pj time she's crawling over and opening her drawers and pulling things out. I left the room to toss her diaper and she crawled out of her room and into her sister's room before I got back. I need to make some safe spaces. Also pulling up on everything. Sigh.
I just popped into June 17 to stalk a bit and got a tiny bit nostalgic! Remember how close we were getting this time last year??? Gah! Remember when the June 15 ladies stopped by for an advice thread?! It totally made me cry. We should do that when it gets a bit closer... that was one of my favorite things to read.

I feel broken. I don't miss ds being smaller and am really excited he's getting bigger and more fun now. I've never been a huge fan of the baby stage and have really enjoyed each new stage more than the last. PreK pretty much rocks.
