NJgirl84 we have both my kids tamiflu at the beginning of Feb. We didn't have any bad side effects, but dd1 refused to take it sometimes. I asked my friend who is a pharmacist about puttik gthe meds into her sippy cup of milk and giving it to her that way, and she said tHat it would be ok to do.

Super tired this morning was lounging on the couch while DD watched paw patrol. She stopped and "read" me a story and sang me a lullaby so "Mommy can take rest". Love this kid.
Has anyone given their child Tamiflu? DS1 has the flu and we caught it early so they prescribed it. It tastes awful and it took us almost an hour last night to get him to take the 2nd dose (out of 10).
Then 2 hours later he woke up and threw it all back up and screamed the whole time no more medicine. He also woke up a few times after saying weird things like he was still dreaming but his eyes were open and he was awake.
His fever broke around the time he vomited so it wasn't feverish dreams. Have any other LOs gotten any of the strange side effects from Tamiflu?
I'm going to call his ped today because I'm not sure if it was Tamiflu or the actual flu making him act so strange last night. Also, not sure if it's worth the fight to get him to take 4 more days of this medicine for a slight decrease in days of symptoms.
We chose not to give DD2 tamiflu when she had the flu because it was a pretty mild form and I've heard the side effects from the medicine can be almost worse than the actual flu. If you don't want to feel guilty for stopping it, it doesn't cure the flu, just shortens it slightly.
The HOA landscapers are here putting down mulch and they just filled up our fenced in English garden area! That area is supposed to be maintained by us, but they must have extra or saw how sad it looked. Hell yea! One thing crossed off the list.
Today was not bad but I fear for the coming weeks/months. I think most people took today off to be honest - and also, Gwinnett is out of school today and then also all next week for spring break. So I THINK that maybe through next week I will be okay.
That being said, I take the toll lanes to/from work to shorten my commute (on 85) and this morning they said HOV 3+ people only. If they continue that...I am totally screwed. I also think once spring break is over traffic will be insanely heavy. I'm really worried about what will happen to my commute, but I guess luckily it only affects me going TO work and not going home.
scout251 how is your DD1 feeling? Hope she is doing better!
Oh she's totally fine now....after we decided to keep her home today also of course! But at least she's happy and not whining for me to hold her all day. 🙄
Huh. Well this flu/Tamiflu talk is timely because DS1 just tested positive for the flu. Dr prescribed Tamiflu. My parents took him so I wasn't able to ask questions. H is also sick and DS2 has a stuffy nose as of this morning. Great.
ETA we all got flu shots.
ETA2 I guess all our plans for the weekend are now cancelled. I was going to take DS1 to see his first movie, The Boss Baby. He was excited. I was too.
Last year I think some people were looking for the long sleeve long leg pjs without footies attached? If any of you moms with littles are looking for some I just saw Carter's had a bunch for the spring. So very random.

I'm in Baltimore right now, but I saw it in the news. I don't take 85, but that means 75 will be even worse. This will affect my staff majorly. I haven't read anywhere what started the fire.
We filled the prescription but I don't think I'm going to give DS1 the Tamiflu. He has a very mild case and is playing fine. If DS2 comes down with it, I will call the Dr about giving it to him. If I come down with it, FFFC, I may take it too. DNW full blown flu.

Yep - they are channeling everyone to 75 and 285, which is not a good solution, as you know. It should only affect 75 north though, not south (for the most part). I do take 85 but I don't go that far into the city, but my exit is before 285 and with them making everyone go that way....I can only imagine how it will back up my route.

What are his symptoms right now?
DS2 has a sign on his door at daycare that they have a confirmed case (maybe cases) of flu in there. He has been extra snotty but to my knowledge, no fever. He got a flu shot as well, and I know sometimes that can make it a milder case....but I keep debating on whether to take him in.

Runny nose. Low grade fever. Cough. I thought it was an ear infection or maybe even pneumonia with that cough. I really debated taking him and almost didn't because he doesn't seem that sick. But now I'm glad I know what it is in case DS2 or I get it.
It's one of those frazzled mind days. On top of that my MP3 player has started acting funny (it's brand new). The company told me to do stuff that only made things worse. Now I'm deleting and re-added thousands of songs/albums again. I need a drink.

Probably a good choice. DS1 definitely had the stomach upset from it. He's also doing much better today so I'm not forcing him to take it. Why would I choose to make my child feel worse?

Wtf is up with this flu season
My ped said this was a weird flu season. The vaccine wasn't a good match and they have seen a lot of kids without fevers or strange combination of symptoms. He felt the news wasn't portraying how widespread the flu was this season.

But damn it was like $35!
Yeah that's what sucks. Although my ped asked ahead what kind of plan I had because it can cost 200 for some high deductible plans. So at least it wasn't 200?
