Hooray weekend! Hope you all have some fun or relaxing plans (or are peeing on a stick...)
DS2 actually slept pretty good! He went to bed around 7:30/8, woke up at 2 to eat, then 6:30. He fussed for awhile after his 2am feeding, but never cried so I didn't go back in. I'm hoping this wasn't a fluke because I could do one MOTN wake up for awhile.
DS1 is now up so I guess weekend playtime begins now!
We've been up for an hour. DS1 starts the "I have to go potty" every 15 minutes show about 6ish these days. We're #old and were in bed by 8:30 last night, so I just got up with him instead of "sending him back to bed until 7." DS2 woke around 6:20, but is back down now. At least it won't be a huge shock to these kids' systems when they're having to be up around 6:30a M-Th next week.
We have big painting plans today. We're gonna tackle the basement while DS2 takes his long nap. Hopefully we can finish it in the 2 hours he usually sleeps. If we can finish it, we're going to prime the mud room and then paint that tomorrow. Fun stuff at Britta's house.
G went down easily last night, and made up for it by waking up at 1:30. He didn't fall asleep again until after 2, and was up around 5:30 to eat. MH is working today and I have no idea what we're going to do today. I think we'll take it easy since the boys still have their colds and I feel one coming on. If I feel ambitious, maybe we'll go to the outlets to look for a bathing suit and sneakers for N.
britta I also went to sleep at 8:30. O woke up only 4-5 times instead of 8-12 like she has been, so I feel semi-human. DH got up with her and I'm still in bed.
She's started rolling to her belly to sleep now that she's in a sleep sack.
Sleep was also ok here. DD went down around 10, then woke up at 2:30 and 5:30 to eat. She is eating now, and it seems as though she might be falling back to sleep. I think MH and I have decided we are going to sign DS up for soccer this year. The town has a 2-3 year old program on Saturday mornings, and we really think it'll help him burn off some energy (and MH was a soccer player so obv DS needs to play too😉). It should be super cute!
Good morning and happy weekend! I'm up and showered, having some coffee while waiting for Target and the butcher shop to open, so I can run and get what I need before I have to bring my dogs to the vet at 10:30. I want to get everything done and out of the way so we can start on DD1's bedroom when we get home from the vet. We told her about her bedroom makeover last night and she was so excited that she was all teary eyed. I hope everything that I bought looks good together with her current wall color.
Aw @snuff9861 I'm sorry. Though good you and your H are on the same page about #3, so maybe a BFP soon for you. And it really may just be early for a BFP this time. Hugs no matter what

We won't try for a couple of years. Or at least that was the plan.

😴😴😴😴
That is all. I was in bed at 830 but then shit hit the fan. DD peed through her pull up so we had to change the sheets. DS woke up and needed a diaper change too. Then everyone was wide awake and we didn't all get to sleep until 1030 or so. Both kids up at 630.
Gymnastics this morning. Its bring a friend day so DD's friend is coming and they are taking her back to their place for a playdate this afternoon.
I was hoping my mom would babysit so DH and I could go see a movie but she seems to have booked up her day with volunteer work. Her memory is spotty these days so I guess I should have made my request more formal...
So not sure what else we'll end up doing. Tomorrow is my birthday and we're going out for brunch with my mom, sister and her fiance. I want to do something else in the afternoon but haven't decided what.
@snuff9861, hugs for however you feel about the BFN. hikingmama222, happy early birthday! Mine is on Monday and we're sort of in the same boat of, how do we go out without reliable babysitters? Enjoy your birthday brunch!!!
DH was a doll and came home from Boston and gave me a break from the baby almost all evening, and took the whole night so I could sleep in til 8. I was going on three days with <12 hrs of sleep. Now I'm showered, the house smells like bacon, and I'm making a grocery list so we can hit up Wegman's later - we haven't been since the baby was born because it's a 30min drive away.
adouces06 I've been hawking our local paper for when out Parks & Rec kids sports start. DS1 WILL be doing something-he also needs to burn off some energy. I wanted to sign him up last year, but you have to be 3 by April 1 around here. He was only 2.5. 😩 hikingmama222 enjoy your birthday weekend!! @holachica I'm jealous of your day!
Attempting to get DS2 down for his first nap. He's fussing a little, but not crying, so I'm sitting outside his door waiting to see what he does.

I got donuts this am so things are looking good. It's rainy and cool outside. The only plans this weekend are to go grocery shopping and possibly go see my bff's new baby depending on when she makes her arrival. They are on day two of an induction currently but some progress has been made.

@snuff9861, completely understandable, still, hugs! vavavictoria, sending smooth birthing vibes to your friend.
Got some unexpected good news here! DH's payroll hit yesterday and I noticed it was larger than usual. Significantly so. Hard to notice a lot because he forgets to submit timesheets frequently so we get hit with two or three at once. I asked him to check it out - thought maybe they'd piled his reimbursement for travel on top of his paycheck. NOPE! He got a raise! So they didn't hire him, yeah, that sucks on job security, but turns out because of that, they gave him a 25% raise. He's FINALLY getting paid for the amount of work he's doing, he was underpaid by like $30k compared to other doing the same job at his agency!
Relieved because I was doing our budget last week and was wondering whether we could afford to give DS a little sibling with the age gap we wanted (2 years). Now it's possible!
We're hanging out. It snowed here. h took the kids to the store to get donuts and milk and I slept until 8. Baby got up just at 3. He's already taken two naps today. He's just the cutest little sleeper I've ever seen. The big is being... needy. I can't decide if the whining is worth all the trouble to get out with two. I might start drinking.
I'm going to a women's fair with a Mom friend. Just waiting for her at the entrance because she got locked in a parking garage. Like she went in the wrong one and the gate closed and wouldn't open. She had to call somebody to get her free.

Enjoying my girls day with DD (I mean as much as you can with a 4 month old right?). Chill morning and then we just got back from Target. I needed to get some travel toiletries for mine and DS1's trip next weekend plus a birthday gift for a party we have tomorrow.
Nothing else planned for our day...DH will pick up the boys from his parents around dinner time so it will be nice and quiet at home for a few more hours.
Took the kids to a county park to make seed bombs this morning. They got to mix mud, clay, and native wildflower seeds together and roll them into balls. The nature center also has other exhibits so they played in the water table and dressed as butterflies. Can't wait to go back when the weather is nicer and walk the nature trails.

Ok ladies. Talk to me about screen time for the second kid. With #1 we really restricted screen time until she got pretty close to 2. Even now she doesn't watch a lot but we like to watch a movie on the weekend. #2 is very interested. What do y'all do?

DD at 2 years and 3 months still isn't interested in TV when DS1 is watching. She's had plenty of opportunities to watch it but it just doesn't keep her attention. I was also worried about limiting screen time for the second but it hasn't been an issue. DS2 loves it too but that doesn't mean anything at 4 months old. It's just lights to him.

If DD1 (she's 3) wakes up early she's allowed two episodes, I think they're about 20 minutes. She stopped napping around 2 so on non daycare days she gets one hour of quiet time on her Kindle Fire. And this started when DH was out of town a few weeks ago-she gets one Paw Patrol before bed. We've had trouble getting her to stop moving to get sleepy at night, and it's working like a charm that she falls asleep about 5 minutes after it.
So she gets anywhere from half an hour on daycare days that she sleeps in to two hours on weekends. This is an increase since O was born.
Plus anytime I'm desperate.
ETA: you were asking about the second kid. So far O has zero interest.
