Congratulations, Cherhorowitz! I am so happy for you and your family and very optimistic for a healthy, uneventful pregnancy. Don't worry about being the crazy patient. Your doctor knows you and your story, and I promise she wants you to call her and let her know any concerns or questions you have. She wants you to give her the opportunity to talk you down from the ledge, calm your fears, and give you the reassurance you are looking for.
Chase has been all over the house today, crawling and playing and generally being in a good mood. He only got about a 15 minute morning nap so he slept 2:45 this afternoon. And he's suddenly willing to eat more non-baby food fruits and veggies. He's like a whole new baby. Amazing!

I'm sorry to hear that your Nanny took a turn for the worse. sweetpotato I can't imagine what it's like to watch someone you love go through such tough times. Sending hugs to you all and I hope she can find something to ease her pain.

Oh sweetpotato, that breaks my heart. I'm so sorry. I know she is such a big part of your family and sounds like an amazing person. Lots of thoughts and prayers.
My dads mom. Still in the ER. She's DNR. So as long as she doesn't code.. we don't know anything about the state of her heart yet because there's to much fluid in her lungs. They're working on that first I guess. I'm not there because Alex is at his massage I got him. So when he's done I'll probably go up. There's like 5 people there so I don't want to crowd the ER.
If there is fluid in her lungs, then they will have to clear it out first so there is less stress on the heart. They will push iv fluids to help clear them out. I'm sorry they are having to deal with that. I hope she recovers soon.
sweetpotato I'm so sorry to hear about M's nanny. I know she is like part of your family and means so much to y'all. That pic of the two of them is so sweet, definitely frame worthy.
One of the teachers wants to come and talk me out of this, right?
Especially given the lunatic running the show at the Department of Education...
Do you want to be talked out of it? It has an exceptionally high burnout rate.
Not really.
I know there is high turnover, I definitely don't have trouble imagining why that's the case, but I'm sure there are plenty of things I can't anticipate at the moment.
Apparently I have a newborn, dd woke up every hour/ hour and a half. Most sleep I got was between 10.30-00.30...
L had been doing this, I finally had to put my foot down and we did some CIO 2 nights ago. I'm fine if she still needs to eat once at night or something, but my 11 month old should not be up every hour demanding a bottle (that she'd only take 2 sips of)!

My MIL and one of my best friends are both special education teachers. They teach under very different circumstances. MIL has always taught young kids in wealthy districts while my friend teaches high schoolers in an inner city. Neither has any issue with job security. My MIL cannot retire - she's tried - she loves her kids and finds the job that rewarding.
It is 8 degrees out. The "feels like" temperature reads -7. The race doesn't start for 3 hours but what the hell? They pushed the start 1/2 hour later than usual in hopes that it would warm up, and the water stops will be self-service so no one has to be out there. I may just run instead of race because it's easier to get injured in extreme cold, and this certainly qualifies.
On a positive note, I woke up and DH is MIA, but he took the monitor with him. So either Chase was having a rough night or he left because of his own coughing. Either way, I would have been fine - it's going to take awhile before I've caught up on the last few months - but that was super thoughtful.

This! But replace 11 with 9mo and bottle with boob 😖😖😖.
I think I'm bagging on the race. The temps haven't budged in the last 2 hours so I'm going to hang out with the boys and run during naptime when it should be up to 25/30. I feel like such a wimp but I can't get hurt or sick right now.
JoeLies That sounds miserable, I don't blame you for skipping it.
Morning! We had a good time at my cousins' bday dinner last night. It was a late night--almost 10 when we got home--so I thought bedtime would be a nightmare. Thankfully, both kids went right to sleep and didn't get up til 7:30.
DH gets back today; he leaves tomorrow for a work trip but we'll be glad to have him home for a bit.
Cherhorowitz congratulations! I think if you call your doctor 3 times everyday, he or she would be ok with that. After my sister's loss, her doctor gave her a pass to show up without an appointment any time she felt like she needed reassurance in her other pregnancies.
cagoldi I have been teaching for 14 years. It is very different then it once was. My salary has gone up $30,000 since I started but my take home pay has only increased by $700 a month due to ever increasing pension/medical percentages. The responsibilities are less and less about the kids but I remind myself everyday that they come first. I'm very lucky that in the past few years, things have gone well for DH at work and my job is just fun money for us. I do what the kids need me to and get to the rest when I can. I have always been a multitasker and you know my schedule with my own kids. I don't bring work home ever but it all gets done. Also, I teach middle school math. Not too many people like math and almost no one likes middle school kids so basically, my job is safe.
