*Set a schedule when you get home from the hospital and make DH help you overnight. I don't care if he works. I made my DH take the 7pm-11-12am shift. DD usually slept her longest stretch then. If she was hungry, he would bring her to me to quickly nurse in the dark then take her back down so I could get some sleep. He slept 12-6am. Rest helps so much with recovery and parenting during the day!
*white noise machines help a ton! Get a portable one and you can put it next to the baby in a pnp in the den. It helps them sleep and gets you some time to yourself.
*Happiest Baby on the Block DVD for the win. I made DH watch it and it helped him fee like he had some tools when DD would cry. He later told me it made all the difference for him.

Does anyone have any recommendations on a double stroller? We have the Chicco Keyfit 30 infant seat so I'd like to find something compatible with that if possible.

westiemom I use a set of receiving blankets on the change pad for that purpose. I know which ones are my bum ones vs spit catching
I have a set of the Boppy changing pad liners that I use on top of the changing pad cover and they have been awesome. You can throw them right in the washer and dryer and they hold up well.

I've only been a mom for a week but I second the Halo swaddles! They are the best!
Add me to the fans of the halo sleep sack! Our hospital sent us home with one and I just ordered another in the next size up to keep using (they gave us a premie one since Z was so small and now it's too short for her).

Mountain Buggy Duet!!! I'm obsessed. It's super compact for a side-by-side, but doesn't feel squished, and there is plenty of storage space underneath. It moves smoothly and is easy to turn/maneuver.
The seats lay all the way back for newborns, so we always used it without the carseats. You can buy carseat adaptors but with 2 carseats you have to stagger them and it's sort of a pain to set up, so we never bothered.

Also Lucie's List has a whole section on double strollers that I found super helpful.
Just adding to the chorus of praise for the Halo sleep sack swaddles. The first time we put DD in it she was maybe 3 or 4 weeks old and she slept for 5 whole hours. It was amazing.
About how many onesies/sleepers/etc did you have in NB and 0-3 to start?
Also, I need to sterilize stuff, but some of the things (like those wubbanubs or whatever) have stuffed animals or dangly stuff on it. Any tips?
I had a big baby, she was never in nb and only in 3m clothes for about a month. She had maybe 20 onesies and 5 pajamas. She was a mid May baby and pretty much lived in just a onesie. I did laundry once a week.
Eta: this was more than enough. I'm pretty sure there were some she never even wore.

We lived in NB for a good month. You could get by with 7-8 onesies/sleepers to start. DD lived in onesies because it was summer but I would do sleepers only if I did it again. I think they need more clothes than I probably did! Haha! We were in 0-3 months for about 3 months so I went through a good 10 outfits and 3 pjs.

we had maybe 5 newborn onesies and 3 newborn sleepers and that was plenty. She outgrew the footies sleepers within weeks. We had more in 0-3 month. Maybe 10-12 onsies and 5 sleepers and we were good with that. However she never spit up much so you would likely need more with a spitter.

City Select! It's expensive, but amazing. I couldn't fit the Graco double into the good size trunk of my Accord, but we packed for a week AND put this stroller in the trunk. Watch the videos on YouTube. You can basically take every part of it off, folds easily and compact and isn't as heavy and awkward to pick up as some of the doubles. We also have the glider board that DS1 can stand on. When we're done with it, it can be sold on Craigslist or one of the online yard sales for a decent amount. You might be able to find one on one of those sites or at a MoM sale. I decided on it after DS2 came and didn't have time to find one on the sites.

I'm on mobile so can't see your sig/when you're due, but if you're having a colder weather baby, be sure to get some long sleeved onesies! My DD was born in Dec and when we got home we realized we had all these cute short sleeve onesies but hardly any long sleeve ones - I had to send my mom out to buy some.
I'd get 5-10 onesies in each size, but keep the tags on - you won't really know what you need until they are born. Everyone told me newborn clothes last for like a week, but my DD could fit into NB stuff for 2 months, and at 11 weeks still can wear newborn shirts/hoodies.

jennykat Z was smaller, just over 6 pounds. She's a little over 8 pounds now and 6 weeks old, and she's still in newborn clothes. It'll probably be another week or two before we have to move up. We have TONS of clothes in newborn and 0-3 but mostly because people kept giving them to us. All that's to say it honestly might be easier to just get a few in each size until you see what size your baby is and what people bring you. You can get stuff so quickly so you'd be fine.

Does anyone use a city select stroller with the britax bsafe car seat? I feel like I read it wouldn't work with that stroller but the chart mrswillie posted seems to say it would. I think. I'm looking for a good double stroller for toddler and baby.

@jennycat I had a big baby (8lbs 14oz, 21 in.) So she started out in mostly in 0-3 and moved quickly to 3 month stuff. I had some newborn onsies that fit. She was an August baby and lived in cotton sleepers and then slept in a onsie and muslin swaddle. I think we only had like 6 sleepers and 15 onsies in each of the smaller sizes.

They should have the adapter on their website or the rainforest. I have the Graco classic connect car seat which isn't even listed on their comparability chart any more, but I do have the adapter for it.
Also check out YouTube. There's probably a video with your seat.
