What's your fav white wine? I'm drinking a late autumn Riesling but I'm not a big fan. I think I might not like white anymore but should probably give everyone else another try before calling it a day.
I like Pinot Grigio or Sauvignon blanc for good 'every day' whites. Prosecco if I want sparkling; I got hooked on it in Italy almost 15 years ago and it's since caught on here in popularity. I like Lunetta. Estancia pinot grigio is also one of my favorites.
I don't know why my phone insists on capitalizing those but oh well.
Well, DH and co are trying to get back from the islands. Their first flight had mechanical issues so they missed the connection, etc. I find it funny bc when I was stressing about all we have to do before the house hits the market and DH being gone for essentially 10 days (he leaves for a work trip tmrw), he was like, we'll have all afternoon Sunday to do stuff! Hahaha. I'll be lucky if he's home before dinner tonight. I love and hate being right sometimes.
Otherwise, not much going on. I think we'll go hang at my mom's for a while, I'm getting cabin-feverish.
LizInFL it would be nice being right if it didn't cause more stress and headache now. Hope you get some stuff done at some point!
cookswithwine9 the last time we went out someone had to be holding E the whole time. We just rotated who it was. Pain in the arse. I think I remember it getting better with O when he could sit in the high chair and actually play with toys. So another 1-2 months maybe? But they are always quick dinners, even now.
I'm here just enjoying quiet nap time. E was up a lot last night and O woke up at 5:15 for the day. Bless my H for getting up with him, washing some leftover dishes, preparing the soccer bag and then cooking us breakfast this morning.
We're on the road heading home from the Cape. My weekend was extremely uneventful. I never left the property from the time we got there Friday night til we drove away just now. The kids' opposing nap schedules are killing me. As is DS's nonstop whining. I've had enough of that to last me the rest of my life.
We're actually going to pop by the New Balance friends and family sale on our way home. After that not much on the agenda except counting down to the toddler's bedtime. I think H is hoping for some action tonight too. Sigh. We'll see.
Oh yea, and I seem to missing out on this Prosecco thing. I've never had it before. How similar is it to champagne? Because I'm not a fan of that.
It's pretty similar. But you can definitely get ones that are less dry.
Re: other wines, I go through phases with them. I am really into sauvignon blanc recently. Oyster Bay is a nice brand. I prefer the New Zealand ones to California but some of the pricier ones are from Cali so I feel like I'm supposed to like them.
For reds I like rioja right now. I loved Argentinian malbec (e.g., Los Alamos) for a long time but am kind of off them now, no idea why.

I love Vouvray - Chateau Moncontour. I love vouvrays in general, but that's my favorite. I also like pinot gris and viognier.
We had a nice morning looking at TVs and walking around the outlet mall. Now I'm just at home, relaxing, watching Lilah pull herself off the playmat and try to make her way across the floor. Later we're having bbq at my dad's.
My older child has decided naps are something she does in the car for 20 minutes (except yesterday when she took a 3.5 hr nap...oops). I've adjusted to this, but we've also been having more success at an 8 or 8:30 bedtime with her as opposed to 9 or 9:30.
Ooh ClassyMrsA I also love vouvrey. Especially in summer. It's so light and refreshing.
Yup. It's amazing. My anniversary is on Thursday. I'm thinking we may need a bottle. Or maybe DH will take me to my favorite French restaurant where they serve my favorite wine.
I pick my wine by price. Is that tacky? I don't care for Chardonnay and much prefer red (better going down and better buzz in my opinion plus surprisingly I get less heartburn from red wine than white). So I don't know labels but I do know price tag.
Santa Margherita, amazing wine, but not my Friday night wine. At $29 (around here) that is a birthday or special occasion wine. OMG I'm embarassing myself aren't I.
Speaking of wine, send it. Send it all. There is no regression hell quite like that of these twins. Omg will we EVER sleep again?
It's been getting worse and worse and its made worse by all our colds.
Last night, let's see ... Adeline slept for, 2 +2 is 4 plus 3 is 7 plus... Oh that's right, five hours. Five hours total. But of course not in a chunk.. Because God forbid mommy gets enough sleep to survive on. Nope, she slept in 30-40 minute intervals and was screaming in between. Alec was just as bad and when I went downstairs at 4:00am for more bottles, H was watching Rocky wth Alec sleeping on his tummy next to him and I quote "I said F#ck it, I give up" (as he takes a sip of scotch and looks down at Alec now soundly sleeping). 4am and drinking scotch, it's still night if you never went to bed right?
We went got target this morning. They slept the whole time. Bastards. And I made a twin mom friend there!! Very cool.
Adeline has been sleeping for 1hr 50mins and woken 4 times. God help me if tonight is a repeat. I work in the morning.
That was us...it's a blur...two weeks ago maybe? My brain actually stopped functioning. That times two? Please do whatever you need for some self care. We're back to our ~2 hour wake ups after that one unicorn night, but that feels like HEAVEN after the no sleep hell we were in. I hope this week the switch turns the other way and they remember sleep is a good thing.
Mh loves long showers! I also think he uses that time to catch up on Boom beach and other apps he doesn't play around me. I've asked him to limit them especially when I need help with the baby.
Niece's dance was great, I forgot how cheesy those things could be! One girl's lyrical number was beautiful and there were Irish dancers who were really impressive!
L did great on the road so that made it easier for me to feel comfortable with future traveling. First night home I think he was just so tired that he just slept, last night he was so grumpy!
hangry, I used to like regular Chardonnay but now I like it only from a steel barrel not an oak. Pregnancy man! I prefer my Rieslings from Germany. I'm more of a sweet wine kind of girl like a moscato, but also like gerwürztraminer. kleigh, I hope you got sleep last night!
kleigh Damn. I'm sorry your babies slept so poorly. Do what you gotta do. They'll sleep again soon.
Re wine price and labels: Yes all the way. I will not buy wine that's over $10 a bottle unless it's a special occasion. And I have to like the label and description. I'm very particular about flavor so just a cute bottle won't do it for me. I have a few I like that I only know by sight. All whites since reds give me migraines. Also, haven't met a chardonnay that I like yet.
I need to find this channel. That was quality programming. I wonder if it's the same one that shows re-runs of Legends of the Hidden Temple.
I'll have to find it after work today and omg Legends of the Hidden Temple! I loved that show!
Oh yea I saw an ad on FB and forgot that they had a special channel. We don't have cable though so I'm not sure if I'll be able to stream it with whatever app H is using now. I love me some retro cartoons!
But beware because some shows don't age well. I tried to rewatch Hey Dude and it was AWFUL. I decided to stop before it ruined my childhood memories.
