arimaythea, I also work in healthcare software. My company isn't very WFH friendly, though. We can WFH when necessary, but not consistently. I do need to be in the office a few days a week for meetings and collaboration with my team, but I'd love to WFH 1-2 days a week.
Push for it!!! I work in client services, my company hired me back PT after I had DS (I was their first PT employee), then I pushed for WFH access so that I can make up any additional hours (I'm allowed up to 30) or days like if DS is sick, since I don't get PTO.
They were like...oh...ok. Let's see how it goes. And it's been great. I haven't told them I'm pregnant this time yet but depending on how it goes, I may see if I can resume PT WFH after this LO is born. DS would be in kindy and once the new LO grows out of potato mode then I definitely need childcare, but...I'd like to have the option.
Shit doesn't always just happen. L: arrived 5.23.13 at 34 weeks with gastroschisis. 131 days in the NICU; short bowel syndrome, g-tube, home TPN; 11 surgeries. Line-free since 12.28.16! Blog
Re: WFH - my husband WFH full time managing a team of call center reps, who all also WFH. No way he could do that without FT childcare, but there are a lot of advantages.

When we decided to move back home, I initially quit because I knew there were no offices nearby. My boss was the one who asked if I'd like to stay on remotely. I never even thought that was an option. So don't be afraid to ask.
I now feel like this is an appropriate place to show off some newfound diversity among the followers of my blog that's basically made my morning - his last tweet is a link to my last post:

In our part of the company it really depends on your particular management team. Â The dev side of the house doesn't get as much WFH flexibility as the services side. Â They were having some issues with cubicle space in our building recently as they are trying to downsize the number of floors they are leasing, so there was a little extra push to get some more people permanently WFH, which fit right in with my boss making me WFH. Â One other person on my team also went perma-WFH, but he also rarely went into the office anyway.
I honestly didn't mind going into the office before kids, I liked the camaraderie. Â But with my son now it was definitely invaluable to be able to stay home.
I'm also in software and none of our services team comes into the office anymore. We can WFH on Thursdays, and I do take advantage of that. But since I'm in QA it's a lot easier to be there with the engineers.
There's someone at our partner company who WFH full-time. He has a little girl and she's home all day with him. There are times when I'm on the phone with him and she's screaming in the background. I don't get it.
Just requested my Amazon Welcome Box through my registry. I know they were out last week so if anyone has started or thinking about starting a registry through Amazon, they are back in stock.
Besides being excited about getting a freebie, I am exhausted and cranky. DS woke me out of a dead sleep around 12 then I was in and out of sleep until he woke me up again at 5. Usually I don't look forward to daylight savings time but I am super excited for the time change to get him back on track. So sick of these 5am wake ups. I am also annoyed with MH...I am just cranky pants all around.
Tell me more about this welcome box?? How come I've never heard of this???

Ugh add me to the really queasy list. When I dropped DS off at my parents house this morning, my mom handed me a packed lunch. She decided to try to make stuffed salmon. The thought of it makes me want to puke. Now she's asking for all this feedback after I eat it. There's no way I can eat this today. I'm thinking about lying and saying it was good and echo whatever her comments are.

Someone talk to me about sciatic nerve pain. Ouch.
Yikes! Already?? I never had it but my right hip is hurting so bad!! I thought I was the only one. It's mainly when I'm walking.
I mean, that's what I think the pain going from my butt to my knee is. I've nearly had my leg go out on me a couple of times already because of the pain!

Yes! I'm already in a lot of pain. But I also think it's because I gained some weight right before I got PG. I've been doing stretches, heat and then massage.

No way I could stomach that today. NEWP.
I decided to roll the dice and just do it. Everyone else's food in the lunch room smelled disgusting so mine wasn't that bad. I ate really slowly though and managed to keep everything down.

Chiropractor?
I think this is the route I'm headed. I don't see my OB for another 2.5 weeks, so if it could continue to be manageable until then, I'll probably just bring it up then.
Ooh, I meant to thank trinitrotoluene and mrstommyshelby for the Crazy Ex GF mentions. We're all caught up on our shows so I was looking for a new one last night. Watched the first two episodes and I already can't wait to watch more tonight.

That's what I told her *cough Rama cough*. I've been seeing mine since like 5 days after my BFP.

Hey hey hey. I cannot find the right foods or combination if foods/amounts of foods that will satisfy my stomach. I did manage to keep lunch down, so yay. Small victories at this point.
I'm currently binge watching Gilmore Girls.
I'm like a whole new lady on b6 and unisom but now I am STARVING. Like, feed me or die.

What is the dosage for these. I wonder of they would be ok to take with my hypertension.
Recommended dose is 25mg of B6 (1 in the morning, 1 in the afternoon and 1 at night for 75mg total daily) and 1/2 tablet of unisom I'm the AM and other half in the afternoon. You can take a whole tablet of unisom at night. (So 2 total unisom a day if you need that much)
I'm finding that the morning dose is lasting me all day so I just take AM dose and nighttime dose. I'll take the full unisom before bed. Also, I don't feel sleepy with the morning unisom.
*also I fucked up my b6 purchase and got 100mg pills. I just split them in half, my doc said 100/day is just fine.

I wanted to make Swedish meatballs from scratch for the kids. Trying for the first time so I did it during the day in case it was a bust. They turned out great! I tasted one, then two, then a few more and before I knew it I'd eaten a 1/2lb of beef. 😳 No regrets now, and I hope none later!
Awesome seeing all the WAH moms! I started when I had really bad ms and it kinda morphed over time into a permanent thing. I have FT childcare of course. It's such a big help with keeping my sanity but definitely has its drawbacks.
