I'm oddly happy it's Monday. The boys were crazy this weekend. More tantrums by naptime Saturday than the whole prior week. I'm hoping they've snapped out of it and will be pleasant tonight.
And I just realized I have to decide by the end of this week if I want to take the GRE on April 8th so I can maybe start a master's program summer 2018. I still don't even know if the summer program will be enough for the type of certification I want, and it's a commitment of 3 summers and a lot of money. So I haven't even decided if I want to pursue that yet, but if I do, I want to take the GRE now instead of waiting until fall because theoretically I have more time to study now than I ever will again.
The weather is probably going to suck. I'll be in a conference all day Friday and Saturday, so I don't even have to leave the hotel. But I feel bad for H trying to do fun stuff with DS during that time.

Yeah, I think this is what he'll end up doing on Friday. We'll be fairly close to Navy Pier. Google maps says it's a 20 minute walk, which might really suck if it's cold and windy, but it also really sucks driving there, so I don't know what he'll do. Then on Saturday he's going to try to meet up with a friend who has 2 kids and lives in the suburbs.
I really love the field museum, and there's a giant T-Rex skeleton there, but I think aside from the T-Rex DS is too young to care about anything else, and the 3D T-Rex movie would probably be too scary for him.

Maybe a bus or the train? You don't need a car seat like you would in a taxi or an Uber.

I'm pretty sure he can take a taxi without a car seat. But not Uber. I hadn't really thought about a bus. I'm betting the hotel concierge can help him figure out how to get there. I'm just bummed that it's going to be so cold. This would be such a fun weekend if we could walk around outside

I took the train in Chicago when DS1 was a baby, you fold up your stroller and then can sit- typically you can get pretty close using the train and then walk .

DH is a lot more comfortable/knowledgeable about the train in Chicago than I am, so I'm just gonna leave that up to him. It sounds like he found a fire station on the way to Navy Pier that will give tours to kids if they're not busy, so that would help break up the walk a little. The hotel is actually really pretty close to Navy Pier (but google maps still says it's 20 minutes to walk) so I'm not sure taking the train would help.
