Also the midwife suggested I start running again, both to manage my anxiety/depression and to help prepare for the physical demands of labor.
I'm both excited and dreading it at once. Excited because I didn't think she'd tell me I could start again in the middle of pregnancy, but dreading the worry that I know will come with PGAL brain.
akraus2015 - Good luck with running! Definitely start slow. My midwife would agree with yours. She told me at my first appointment that everyone who says you can't up your exercise or start something new while pregnant is full of baloney.
Take it slow and easy. Your body will tell you if you do too much. Also going to tag in BabyStandish as I've seen her mention Braxton-Hicks after running sometimes and I'm assuming you would dial back if that happened?

The MW mentioned that I might feel BH more often if I was running. She said not to worry about it and just stay hydrated. I'm going to start with like just one mile. And it will probably be a verrry slow one, lol.

Definitely take it easy at first and I'm glad she mentioned more BH, because you probably will feel more.

akraus2015 good luck running! You might notice your running form has changed and your joints feel a little different so be prepared to be a lot slower and not as graceful. I'm a good 2-3 minutes slower per mile these days. You might also notice that your feet aren't as comfortable so if that's the case you may want to look into a new pair of running shoes. I usually have 5-6 in my rotation (working at a running store problems), but now I'm down to just one pair that feels somewhat good. If you start feeling too hot/out of breath that's a good signal to your body to take a walking break. I get braxton-hicks after most of my evening runs and my long runs. I'm guessing I get them after my night runs because I tend to slow my hydration as the day goes on. I'm still drinking a little over a gallon a day, but I think drinking even more might help with that...or it might just be part of my normal now. They go away after a few hours or after I've slept.

Thank you for all this good info!! I'll start slow and see how things go. 😊

littlelion lol. No offense taken! In my role, even as HR Manager, I'm not the subject matter expert on leaves. I instruct them to call the department within HR that handles LOA/FMLA! Hell, I even had to call to get specifics for myself!

Ugh I need this kid to wake up so I know she is okay. I hate when I don't pay attention to her movements and then I freak out because I haven't felt her in awhile.

Hugs, that's the worst. Have you had a snack or some juice to help perk her up?

Yeah I was eating cereal so that's why I found it weird she wasn't waking up. I played Shape Of You under my belly and she started dancing - I feel better now.

I hate when they do that! Stubborn babies. That's about the time I start playing "guess the body part" and start poking and rubbing around until they get annoyed enough to start moving one.

It's one of our favorite games to play 🙄 is this a head? A foot? I don't know, but I'll keep pushing until you move
