Tl;dr normal delivery turned cord prolapse stat c-section; turned vaginal birth with vacuum.
So we got to the hospital at 3:30 and I was already at a 3. We did a small dose of cytotec and after the 12 hours we started potocin, got an epidural. Things were going well.
Then, all hell started breaking loose around 2 this afternoon. My water broke while baby was still really high so we had to monitor her internally. That. Freaking Sucked. Then all of a sudden her heart rate took a dive. Dr comes in to check things out and baby is almost here. So he manually took me from 6-7 to a 10.
We'll when he moved his hand the cord slipped out. Full on cord prolapse, they call for a stat c-section and all of a sudden it's a flood of Dr's and nurses. They ran me into the OR and DH got left high and dry; and I panicked.
The drs numbed me up totally then tried to give me something to calm me down and it did nothing. Another, much older Dr came in while they prepped me for the c-section. I am still processing what happened after that. He got me almost to a head stand and pushed the cord back in. Then I was told to push right then. It's still a blur but we got her out with avacuum and two or three pushes.(I don't really remember)
We're both healthy and doing OK. I'm extremely tired, wired, and overwhelmed. I can't believe we pulled off a vaginal birth after all that. It honestly feels like a dream.
PDQ We don't have many pictures yet. I'll have better ones of her soon. *poof*
