Hi ladies. I have no clue what the weather is supposed to bring today, but yesterday it snowed enough to give a light dusting, the sun came out for a bit and it melted away, it hailed heavily, some more sun, and then rain. Elsa must have been having an emotional day.
I found out my grand-niece was born this weekend. I wish it was a happy occasion but it's not. My niece is really messed up and chooses to be homeless (couch surfs) and not work. I feel horrible for the baby and hope social services gets involved.
That's so sad about your niece. When my sister got pregnant we were all concerned, but it ended up being the best thing that could happen to her. She changed her life around and is an amazing mom. It's too bad it doesn't seem like the same for your niece. That poor baby.

Sorry for all the posts. I can't remember what I want to say, so I end up doing all separate posts.
We have had a lot of outside time today which is great. I'm so tired though! C continues to hit, kick, push, ect L ALL THE TIME and it is making me go insane. It makes me so sad for her and so mad at him.
lfigge That sounds so scary to me. I don't know how you're not a basket case.
I'm just used to it at this point. But I have been awkwardly staring at her a lot...lol.
I'm going to go ahead and speak for N13 when I say we certainly understand. I hope she's feeling better soon and that you get some insight at her appointment.
We have scattered showers here today, too. We could use it. I just bought fertilizer for our flowering shrubs because they looked pathetic last year. I need to look up some gardening tips because I plan to do it myself. I could just call my grandma because she has the green thumb in the family.
Other than that, I'm at work and still knee deep in deciding how to make this new school work for us in the fall. Why can't anything in my life just be a simple yes or no? It's so many variables I have to consider that making a decision is so stressful... and that goes for mostly everything when it involves working around our schedules. Blah. Sorry for the rant....
I bought the fertilizer stakes last summer and put them by my tree and bushes. I think it helped. Good luck with the school decision.
Thanks for the sleep info. S falls asleep around 9, give or take, so he's getting 9 or 9.5 hours. His naps are all over the place from none to 3 hours but I'd say average is about 2 hours. So he seems in line with your kiddos.
I miss the later wake up time, but he is definitely ready for bed at bedtime so I can't push it any later.
I can't believe all these N13 kids who have dropped their naps! Millie sleeps about 11 hours at night and a 1.5 hour nap at school and a 3 hour nap on the weekends. Sometimes we skip the naps but she usually is melting down by the end of the day so we try not to. #NappingUntilCollege

I feel you girl. Yesterday O told me to stop yelling. I realized I spent most of the day yelling at him because I'm reacting (and probably overreacting) to him being so mean to Z. I'm trying really hard to tell him what a good boy he is and highlight the nice things he is doing (however few).
I thought of you as I typed that because I know you can relate! It's so frustrating and I lose it and yell so much. I've never spanked him, but you better believe I've been close. I'm trying to praise him like you said. I've also been doing a lot of time outs with him locked in his room. Not sure it's changing his behavior all that much, but it gives me a minute to cool down at least.

M still needs his nap. Sometimes he stays up and then we have to try to keep him up, because if not he just ends up taking a late nap and that is no good for anybody! Once he falls asleep, there is no waking him up for at least 1.5-2 hours. So we usually try to get him to nap by 3 on the weekends if possible.

@snoopnommymom We don't have the exact same situation, Dude is indifferent to X a lot of the time (I think since he's still mostly immobile).
He was being extra challenging for awhile there and I found two things helped tremendously: offer tons of praise when he does something I like (which you're already doing), and I let him role play that he's mommy, daddy or grandma at least once a day. He gets to boss me around (for things that don't matter, like hand washing or eating a snack, etc) and that feeling control let's him get the need to rebel out of his system.
It's also a really good way to see my own behavior reflected back to me because I learn that sometimes there are better ways I could say something but don't realize it until he says them when he's being mom.

I had a situation tonight where I can only describe as B roundhouse-kicking C onto his back.... while they were in the bathtub! I was so upset w her. The sheer look of terror on C's face was an awful sight. He would've gone straight under the water had I not caught him.

I need a speaker system, so I can play stairway to heaven constantly at the house. Cadence was talking non-stop in the car and it came on the radio and she completely zoned out. It was great! And it's a long song!!

I just got sooooo jealous reading this.
Don't be! If you only knew how most of our nights go. The boy is a night owl for sure. I can't blame him because I am, too. It would be nice if he went to bed by 9pm. I should probably start working on that...
klongoria11 we have a Sonos system and have speakers in most rooms that we control with our phone. N loves it because she can request moana or I like to move it from anywhere in the house. Girl loves to dance!
