I was considering LeTote akraus2015 I has mixed results from stitchfix though so not sure!
I thought stitchfix was a scam. The amount the charge for the quality of clothes is laughable.
I loved it at first bc I always kept everything, so the prices were a bit high but not outrageous considering they were good pieces that really fit in my wardrobe. But...then it started not fitting, not being my style, etc...and as soon as you aren't keeping everything, it quickly becomes outrageous.
TTC since July 2014. CP March 2015. IVF #1 March 2016, 5R, 3M, 2F with ICSI. Transferred 2 on day 3. CP. Surprise BFP and then CP August 2016 (prep cycle for IVF). IVF #2: zero eggs retrieved IVF #3: 6R, 5M, 5F, 3 (2 8A and 1 11A) transferred, one "B" graded embryo frozen on day 5. BFP (at home 7dp3dt, confirmed 14dp3dt with 1552 beta) and U/S at 5w5d, 2 sacs and 2 yolks!
How do you go about choosing a pediatrician? I called one today, a pretty well established medical group that is affiliated with the big hospital here, and they are accepting new patients. They asked me what I was looking for in a doctor (they have a few to choose from) and I had no idea how to respond and then felt like I should have done more research. I think I would probably feel fine just choosing one randomly but then I wonder if I'm doing it wrong.
I'm trying to decide whether to announce on FB...I have far flung friends and family and I want to try to celebrate this pregnancy since it's probably the only one I'll have, but I'm still nervous. I'm 14w3d and so far so good... MH originally wanted us to hold off bc we have a friend's father's funeral this weekend and he didn't want everyone to ask about it there...but...it's pretty obvious, so I don't think there's much avoiding that (or everyone will just whisper about the weight I've gained...in the shape of a volleyball). And in that case, I'd rather do it now, way ahead of the funeral...or maybe his first thought was right and I try to hide it this weekend and we announce later? I'm way overthinking this, ha!

I think I'll only work up until around May (Due in July). But I work outside for half of my day and live in the desert. It'll hit 90 by next month and I just don't think it'll be comfortable to work in that kind of heat.
If I had an office job, I'd probably work until birth too.

I felt like this picking my OB...my insurance changed as if Jan. 1 (right when we were doing our first u/s and testing for this pregnancy...convenient. So I needed to find an OB quick and had no idea what to search for other than convenient and takes my insurance.
I think maybe if you have any specific thoughts about types of care you want or don't want, mention that. Or if you're someone who wants everything explained in detail or not, if it's really important that you get along with the person or just want them to tell you what to do, anything like that, just mention it. Or if you like to integrate natural or homeopathic/alternative medicine, mention that?
With my OB I just said I was a nervous nelly and wanted someone sympathetic to my crazy, ha. They have us rotate through all the docs in the practice since you don't know who will be on when you go into labor, so it doesn't matter a lot, though.

My maternity leave start coincides with the end of a pay period which was the deciding factor for my boss. So I'll stop working about a week and two days before babies come. But I think working to 36.5 weeks with twins is a pretty good achievement.
As for those stitch fix and whatever things. I found a men's one for DH. I had an awesome coupon code so he got two months of it for pretty cheap. Unlike stitch fix you pay the monthly fee and get to keep everything. He got two shirts and a jacket that he really liked last month. Stuff he never would have bought himself but they look good on him. But they were too big. No big deal! They do free exchanges! So he got the exchanged sizes last week....but it's all different colors and patterns and they don't look as good. I'll cancel it after this month.

Eh for now I'm going with one recommended by a friends. I figure we can always switch. And this one is within walking distance of our house. I feel like you won't know if you like them until they're actually treating and interacting with your child.
My first maternity box from LeTote came yesterday! Wearing a pencil skirt today and it's so comfy and I love it. I don't think I'm going to keep it though because I think $50 is high for a skirt that has been worn by other people before.
Dang you, akraus. First I buy a LJ and now I sign up for Le Tote. I had been doing RTR Unliimted for almost a year before I got KU and this looks like a kind of similar option, just with less inventory.

I am so grumpy in the mornings, but I feel better after having some coffee. I don't have much planned today besides going to the gym later this morning. I'd like to go to Home Depot to buy some herbs, but not sure if that'll happen until the weekend.

I read some online reviews for pediatricians before choosing one and ended up choosing one based on proximity to where we live that had good reviews. I also saw her picture and thought she had a very kind face, which for some reason was very important to me in picking a pedi. She has worked out great but DD is also very healthy and has only ever had to go see her once twice outside of the normal well baby/well kid checkups.

DS has had two and I chose them in different manners (we moved so needed a new pedi).
Pedi #1 was female I asked my OB if he had recommendations. There were two offices in the area, one of which had nursery privileges. I chose that practice and then looked at the available pediatricians. I set up a prenatal appointment around 34 weeks with the one I was leaning towards and we just chatted. I asked questions such as:
- views on formula vs breastfeeding and would she support a mother's right to choose how to feed baby - views on vaccines and having all patients vaccinated - thoughts on circumcision - practice policy on keeping potentially sick unvaccinated patients from young babies or from vaccinated patients - off hours policy
We chose to stay with her and loved her.
Pedi #2- male When we moved, I had one requirement- the office must require all patients to be vaccinated unless there was a valid medical excuse. I didn't have a preference for a pedi and was assigned one from the staff but could always switch. We actually go between two males based on availability. DS2 will go there as well although they don't have privileges at the hospital I'll be at
My OB with DS1 was chosen for me- I chose the practice I wanted (the only one that delivered at the hospital I wanted) and they assigned an OB. I could have tried a different OB with the practice but I loved him and stayed with him as my primary

Just left my OB. Amniotic fluid test came back negative so I guess I'm just constantly leaking urine now. Yay? But I am definitely losing pieces of my mucus plug. Which is gross but exciting because I'm ready to get this show on the road.

We're here right now too. My midwife wants us to have one selected by my next appointment (in three weeks). Since we'll be moving out of this area when baby is a year old, we're less particular about the ped we choose here.
But for where we stay more or less permanently, some things we're considering: - Admitting rights to our preferred hospital - Clinic hours - Nurse/call line hours - Walk-ins available? - General philosophies on things like antibiotics and vaccinations
As far as personality, we're pretty sure we'll be relatively breezy parents so would like a ped who can balance that out with healthy precautions.
wannabmama, I did consider a naturopathic doctor or a DO but I also do like that this place is affiliated with the big hospital (but independent at the same time) and it is in a convenient location. I had considered switching to them for myself as well (there was a ridiculous waitlist though) so I think it might be convenient to go to the same practice (or maybe switch him to the same family medicine doctor within the practice at some point). I read their bios and they didn't mention anything about naturopathic but I could ask. I don't really know what else I'm looking for - I just want them to be good doctors?

Right? I mean I could meet with them but I won't know how they are with kids, which is the most important part.

It's also not a forever thing. If you pick one and it's not working, you can always make a switch. Even within a practice, I've found it to be totally fine with my own health and I'd assume the same for a ped.

I lost what I'm pretty sure was a piece of my mucus plug yesterday for the first time. I even googled which I do not recommend. Gross. Anyways, when I told H, he started freaking out. I had to explain that I could be losing pieces of the plug for weeks before I go into labor. It did get me a little excited though. I'm in the homestretch too and ready for things to start rolling whenever they feel like it.

Underwear snot.
I've been losing mine for a couple weeks now. It means nothing but I like the reassurance that the end is near lol.
hpnegirl, circumcision was really the only thing I could think of on the phone since we are leaning towards not circumcising and wanted to make sure they would be okay with that, which they were.
Hours, walk-ins, off-hour set-ups are all good questions. They do have a larger location 15 minutes away so I think that might help with getting last minute appointments, but I'll have to ask. They're not affiliated with the hospital I'm delivering at but I prefer the other hospital for anything other than birthing.
One of the two doctors available at this location is the chief of pediatrics for the practice, so I wonder if that means her availability will be more limited.

PirateCat I chose our pediatrician based on the fact that my ob recommended him and he's a runner....LOL. Clearly, I really think about the important things.

Our pediatrician prior to moving was in my triathlon club with me. Priorities.

I chose the group that all my friends go to. Then after DS was born we saw a diff doc each time until we clicked with one and stuck with her. Actually it ended up being one of the nurse practitioners.
Eta: This practice has morning walk in hours and is open nights and weekends. As a working mother all of this was super important to me.
