Hey annabananabomb ! Thanks for doing these checkins over here on the dark side
How was your week? Slowly getting better with symptoms, I can almost taste 2nd tri!
News/developments: Booked in with my midwife, so I'm three vials of blood lighter. Awaiting my letter giving me an U/S appointment.
Symptoms/cravings/body changes: Crazy nose, craaaazy tired, still lots of food aversions. My boobs are unrecognizable.
GTKY: how many children do you plan on having? I think we'll be one and done (as in together, DH has a 16yo daughter). I won't want to get pregnant again after I'm 30, cuz DH is old.

Good Morning! Thanks for bringing the check in over here.
How was your week? It was another long one. The workdays just feel so long! I'm now 10 weeks and really starting to get excited about the possibility of feeling better in another 2 to 3 weeks.
News/developments: Eager for my first appointment with my new OB in just under 2 weeks.
Symptoms/cravings/body changes: The nausea is still my strongest symptom and gas is a close second. I'm thankful that my vomiting hs moved to evenings so that it's not usually happening at work. I was never a burper and lately I am out of control!
GTKY: how many children do you plan on having? I really wanted three, but DH wants 2. Years ago we agreed that if we had one of each gender then we'd stop, but if we had two of the same we'd go for the third. Although it's taken us almost 4 years to get a successful pregnancy so I'm counting my blessings with one to start!
How was your week? Very stressful at work, but I try not to bring that home with me. Most nights this week we ate dinner then I spent the rest of the evening in bed on my tablet, generally dozing off by 9pm.
News/developments: The home doppler came in the mail last Friday evening. Finding the heartbeat for the first time took patience and about two hours of searching/youtube videos. Finding it was such a relief though. I look for the bubb every couple days and it really eases my mind to hear the heart beating away in there, since it is too early still to feel movement.
Symptoms/cravings/body changes: I get hungry every 3 hours and feel gross if I don't eat right away. I think my food aversions are slowly going away, but I haven't strayed too far from the familiar comfort foods yet. Also, while I can't see it, when I feel my stomach above my pubic bone I like to think that I can feel the top of my ute starting to peek up over the bone. Whether it is actually my ute or not I don't know, but right around that location is also where I can hear baby's heartbeat on the doppler (I'll be 12 weeks on Sunday).
GTKY: how many children do you plan on having? We've said that we'd like at least two, and we'll reevaluate after two to determine whether or not we'd like/can handle more. My wonky ovaries that never really felt like ovulating made it rough ttc this bubb, so we'll see how this pregnancy goes and how long it takes us to conceive a second.
How was your week? My week was pretty boring. I helped my sister move and went grocery shopping. I also sanded the ceilings and did some light sanding on the upstairs walls.
News/developments: It was exciting and stressful. We heard the heartbeat and the baby is growing well (measuring 10wks+1) but I was also labeled high risk and have to get a more in depth ultrasound in a couple of weeks to check for defects. Also, my blood pressure is getting high so I'm focused on bringing that down.
Symptoms/cravings/body changes: Still exhausted and constipated. Luckily my mood has improved thiugh so I am getting more things done.
GTKY: how many children do you plan on having?<br/> we always said 3 max. If my mood can stay stable we'll stick to that. If not, this could be our only one due to the safety concerns.
Glad to see the check-ins have continued over here, annabananabomb! Thanks for doing this.
How was your week? It has been absolutely hectic and confusing, but all said and done it has turned out much better than I expected.
News/developments: I had my 8 week appointment a couple of days ago. It was my third appointment with my OB, with the initial appointment at 4 weeks and a dating ultrasound at 6, during which I got to see and hear my baby's strong heartbeat of 127 bpm. She says everything is looking great! 12 week appointment is set for right before Valentine's day so hubby and I are going to make a date day out of it. No better way to celebrate love than to get to hear our baby's heartbeat again. She's going to try the doppler at the next appointment, but has promised to do an ultrasound if it's still too early for the doppler to pick it up.
Symptoms/cravings/body changes: Nausea is still rearing its ugly head. Before it was mainly in the evenings, but recently has been an all-day thing. Most food continues to be unappealing, but good thing is I can usually keep most things I actually eat down. I got some Preggy Pop Drops two days ago, and they work pretty well when I start feeling very sick. My biggest craving lately has been ChickFilA Lemonade, which also has helped me with nausea. I've started buying it by the gallon.
GTKY: how many children do you plan on having? At least two, but probably not more than 3.
How was your week? Pretty good. I managed to make work and school all week.
News/developments: I had my last RE appointment. My MIL wentwith me so she could see the ultrasound. The fetus was dancing all around ams my MIL ams I got to tease each other about if it's a boy or a girl (she is totally convinced is a boy because about a year and a half ago she dreamed we had a little boy. I counter with I had 2 dreams since I've gotten BFP that is a girl. We each have a 50% chance of being right. ) I have my first OB appointment Monday. I'm site we'll need to discuss what testing we're going to do since I'll be 12w on Tuesday.
Symptoms/cravings/body changes: Eating all of the food. Still really tired, but that seems to be backing down a little.
GTKY: how many children do you plan on having? When I was younger I always wanted 3, but I also didn't think I'd be 35 when I had my first. We're going to see after this one gets here. We have 8 frozen embryos, so we have the chances if we decide to try again.
How was your week? It was alright. Not stellar but it's almost over.
News/developments: Well, my Thursday night is documented in my "in the ER" thread. That sucked and was/is still scary. But we got to see our little bean who is right on track. Just some fluid that they want to keep and eye on.
Symptoms/cravings/body changes: Boobs are still out of control!! Need to buy new bras today. Food aversions all week as well. Blah.
GTKY: how many children do you plan on having? 3! Or 4.....I might be crazy.

How was your week? LONG but I am pretty proud of myself for making it through a whole 5 days since the holidays... I had my yearly review and it was FANTASTIC- I am super proud of myself. I applied for a new job (internally), and my boss says he is confident in my chances. So despite the belly aches and exhaustion, it was pretty great week. News/developments: I had a lot of spotting through week 7, and intermittently week 8... this week (9) has been the first one without spotting which has helped me calm the fuck down. Symptoms/cravings/body changes: my nausea has been calming down the last few days which is both a relief and a worry for the paranoid side of my ftm brain. however, i have been getting this weird light headed/headachey feeling despite eating every couple hours... This makes me kind of a bitch too, so my poor dh is probably feeling a little wounded, lol. Cravings... mostly just bread. body changes... my boobs continue to grow- these bitched better produce some killer milk because they were already big before I got knocked up. Also the bloat has me in maternity clothes just for comfort's sake.
GTKY: how many children do you plan on having? I always thought i would have 2, (DH and I both come from 3 and didn't like it) but I am really not enjoying this trimester, haha. sooooo maybe one and done? don't quote me though!

Thanks for doing this! I was so sad (but on your side) to read your message over THERE about the checkin.
How was your week: family drama. No longer speaking to my soon to be ex step father. But I'm probably buying a new car on Monday! And DH has some sort of secret date planned for today, so I'm happy about that.
News: telling the families Sunday. Telling my work on Tuesday since Monday is a holiday. I have an OB appointment Monday morning-going over testing, insurance, detailed family histories. I'm going to ask them why I've gotten almost $300 in blood work bills...not too happy about that. I'm also going to talk to them about my anxiety issues and my total lack of libido. Any suggestions of questions to ask? Starting my list tonight so I don't forget anything.
Symptoms: threw up yesterday. Hadn't eaten anything, so I was just heaving for five minutes and burst a shit ton of blood vessels up by my eyes. I'm a smidge pale, so it's very hard to hide. I'm also getting a spiderweb of STRETCH MARKS on my "pooch" area (below belly button), but I've lost five pounds. I suspect it's due to regular bathroom visits.
GTKY: i think our finances may only allow us to have one, but we would both like at least two.
skylark12 I'm so glad you got good news after your er trip. I'm still sending you good vibes!

Yaaaaaay!!! I live check ins!! Thanks for putting this together!
How was your week? Long, stressful, and over!!
News/developments: I am 12 weeks tomorrow. You can feel the excitement, can't you??
Symptoms/cravings/body changes: insomnia is kicking my butt. I went from not being able to stay awake to not being able to stay asleep without Unisom! Nausea hit me this week (weird, huh) but it was only for a couple of days.
GTKY: how many children do you plan on having? I am done after these two.
TTC#1 since Feb 2011 With an RE since 2012 August 2012/March 2014: Med cycles, 5 IUIs, 5 IVFs and nothing. Diagnosed with Premature Ovarian Failure (POF)
We adopted four embryos! Transferred 2 - they both took!!! Rebecca & Sara born at 23 weeks on 04/06/15. Rest in peace my angels. May 2016 - Transferred one embryo. BFP on 5/11!! We are due in January 2017!

How was your week? Awesome! Nausea disappeared for most of the week, only showing its wretched face every now & then!
News/developments: Went for my NT scan. Baby was really active and kept trying to swat away the tech with her US probe thing. She called baby "feisty".
Symptoms/cravings/body changes: Craving watermelon & bacon like a crazy person!
GTKY: how many children do you plan on having? 2 and done for us. We'd like to consider adoption after both kids are a bit older.
How was your week? Not too bad, getting into my studio more often so that's nice.
News/developments: Hm, I don't think I have any news. Just waiting on my first ultrasound, which is 2 weeks away.
Symptoms/cravings/body changes: The extreme fatigue is letting up finally! Still tired of course, but I no longer feel like every last drop of life force has been sucked away. I'm on a nice schedule of throwing up every other day. Still dry heaving every couple of hours though. Really looking forward to this magical 2nd trimester I hear about.
GTKY: how many children do you plan on having? This will be our first, and we'd like at least 2. H wants to have 3, but I'm saying we'll see how 2 goes and decide from there.
Hi! I didn't participate in the FTM check-ins on TB, but figured I'll jump in now. Thanks for organizing this.
How was your week? It seemed long, but work was busy at the same time. I've been on edge waiting for my NT scan.
News/developments: Not just yet. NT scan is Monday morning and I'm SO nervous (this was when we discovered mmc 5 months ago).
Symptoms/cravings/body changes: My symptoms have been SO mild. I threw up twice this week, but this has only happened in the morning after taking my prenatal - so I started taking them with food. I noticed more veins in my boobs, but I don't think they're growing yet (). I've had a lot of mild abdominal pain and RLP in my groin/hips in the last couple days. Had a couple days of bad headaches, but coffee helped a lot.
GTKY: how many children do you plan on having? I used to want, like, 4 - but DH vetoed that. We settled on 2, but this process has been so stressful, sometimes I think maybe I'd be okay with just 1. We'll see.

How was your week? Crazy. Work has been so busy and I started school again so I just need to sleep all the time.
News/developments: nothing new, more crazy dreams more often.
Symptoms/cravings/body changes:still sick, it hits me the hardest in the evening, which I guess is good because I can get through my workday. But I am so ready for this part to be over.
GTKY: how many children do you plan on having? H wants 3. I wanted 2. Ask me again when I forget how miserable the first trimester is.
How was your week? Week was good! Productive at work and it's slowed down enough I actually left work early both Thursday and Friday...trying to knock this cold out once and for all!
News/developments: 9 weeks yesterday! No news to report this week...my next dr appointment isn't until February 12, so I have some time. We're waiting to tell anyone (except our immediate families) until after that appointment.
Symptoms/cravings/body changes: I almost passed out in the shower this morning...that was a little scary. Craving all carbs (I could be happy eating pizza for every meal), and dealing with this lovely bloat!
GTKY: how many children do you plan on having? Ok, so I'm one of 6 kids and loved growing up in a big family. I've always said I want more than 3 kids. Realistically, I'll be 34 when this little one is born...so maybe 2 or 3 is a more logical number at this point.

I never participated in the other place but I'm going to jump in
How was your week? OK. I have been working out of town. Tuesday was a bad MS day but since then I have felt pretty good.
News/developments: Nothing much new. I scheduled my NT scan for 1/29 and am anxiously waiting for it. My H is going to try to be there which would be nice. I ordered a home doppler and it should be there by the time I get home monday night. I can't wait!
Symptoms/cravings/body changes: Like arimaythea I also think I can feel the top of my Ute just above my pubic symphysis. Still pretty bloated and living in soft pants and fat pants. I have a pair of pants that were about a size too big and now they are a bit small but work for now. Still consuming all the carbs since it is all that sounds good.
GTKY: how many children do you plan on having? We really want 2 but we are old and have already had one loss so I don't know if it will happen.

I never participate in this, but I suppose today is the day.
How was your week?
I only threw up twice this week. I consider that a success. Also got to see the heartbeat. I've felt pretty gross though. Mostly exhausted and the nausea. But all and all my week had ups and downs.
News/developments:
Nothing really new. So ready to not be exhausted anymore.
Symptoms/cravings/body changes:
When I say I'm hungry, I start a quest for immediate gratification. Waiting ten minutes makes me want to vomit. Such a short time frame from "I'm hungry" to "if I don't eat right this second I'm going to vomit everywhere."
GTKY: how many children do you plan on having?
Right now, my answer is one. Lol ask me a little later down the road.

How was your week? It started out great, we had our second U/S with our OB Monday morning. Then it followed with a week of chaos at work with ms and fatigue and a yeast infection. Friday night, my fetal doppler arrived and scored a ton of free baby stuff from my SIL (including a bassinet).
News/developments: Baby looks great on U/S but couldn't find the heart rate on the doppler at home probably because it may be too early.
Symptoms/cravings/body changes: Definitely had to go up a cup size on my bras this week. Nausea but no throwing up. Nothing sounds good so I don't want to eat but if I get too hungry I feel sick. My OB said I need to be eating every couple hours because when I did my 1 hour glucose tolerance test I actually became hypoglycemic. Tried Unisom for the nausea but it just makes my exhaustion worse (I slept 10 hours last night and had 2 naps this afternoon- one 30 minutes long and one hour long). Will go get some B6 tomorrow to try and if that doesn't help, I'm gonna ask for a Zofran prescription. On top of my pregnancy symptoms, I've got a yeast infection.
GTKY: how many children do you plan on having? We've planned on 2.
Post by annabananabomb on Jan 17, 2015 22:19:13 GMT -5
How was your week? Slow and steady.
News/developments: We made it to 12 weeks! Yay!
Symptoms/cravings/body changes: All fat guts, big sore bewbs, RLP, and exhaustion over here. Plus dizzy spells. At least the nausea has let up! People are beginning to notice that I'm "showing" aka "getting fat". Really looking forward to getting my energy back.
GTKY: how many children do you plan on having? No plan. If money and health were no issue I'd love four. My egg stores are very low so I count myself lucky we've got this one on the way. Anymore in the future will have to be a "play it by ear situation".

I never participate in this on TB but I'm trying to get more involved here.
How was your week?
Long. Pretty shitty at work. I have no patience right now & I'm not happy with how my team lead is handing out work.
News/developments:
Had my OB intake appt w/ the head nurse. She was pretty awesome though I'm still not sure about the whole "Get to know everyone in the practice b/c whoever's on call delivers the baby." Also did a bunch of labs & the 1 hr glucose screening. Anxious for the results. Scheduled 1st tri screening, the Harmony, & an appt with one of the midwives.
Symptoms/cravings/body changes:
Nausea is easing up, though nights are still rough. Gas pains like crazy. (Gall bladder removed years ago but it's the gift that keeps giving. Bastard.) H (snores like a bear) has been sleeping on the couch so I can sleep through most of the night. It's been so helpful but it's no long term solution. Maybe in a few weeks I'll sleep more soundly, like I used to do? Mac & cheese forever! I've got quite the blump though I've only gained 6 of my previously lost 10. I'm totally fine with that though. Just wish the gas & bloating would ease up. Also my already large boobs may smother me in my sleep! Thank god for heavy duty sports bras!
GTKY: how many children do you plan on having?
Well it took a couple years & 2 rounds of IVF for this one plus I'll be 36 when the baby gets here. So I'm not holding my breath. We do have 2 frozen so we'll see. H would be perfectly happy with one. He's an only child which has been...interesting.
ETA: Hall bladder is not a thing & sounds really gross.

Jumping in on this... Good Morning Ladies!
How was your week? Pretty good. We got a lot done this week and I only puked yesterday! Which was exhilarating!
News/developments:I can't believe I am in the middle of my 12th week! It is insane how much has changed since I found out little one was on the way. Got back the results of my lab work from my first appointment and so far everything looks good. I was really concerned that I would have an abnormal pap, as cervical cancer runs in the family. So relieved everything is still normal all around with baby!
Symptoms/cravings/body changes: Give me ALL the spicy foods!!! OMG, buffalo chicken, Thai curry, green chile etc., The amazing part is that I've been getting heartburn from water, but my favorite spicy foods are just fine. My guess is baby is going to be just like me and LOVE all the spices! On another note, my ribs are always on fire... I didn't believe anyone when they told me my rib cage would expand. Why would I, being 6'2", need my ribcage to expand for baby???
GTKY: how many children do you plan on having?DH and I argue this one quite a lot. Honestly, I think it will depend on how well I recover from this baby, emotionally and physically. I think 2 or 3 would be wonderful, but we will have to see what my body can handle.
How was your week? Second week in new job, so getting settled into a routine there, but still hating it.
News/developments:
Symptoms/cravings/body changes: This weekend I am finally starting to feel human again (10w5d). Unpacked a room (we just moved and the guest room had been neglected) and went to the gym. Dying for some sushi but I'm in a new city so don't know where is safe! Bloating is going down a little but boobs still have a daily growth spurt.
GTKY: how many children do you plan on having? I used to say 3, now i think it's crazy talk. Maybe 2 if i have the second one really soon? I'm getting old and set in my ways, i don't plan on trying for long next time around before i throw in the towel. If we lose this one I'll probably stop trying altogether.
Post by flippinchica on Jan 18, 2015 16:11:56 GMT -5
shortstack I had the same issue with the unisom and found that taking 1/2 tab at night took the edge off the nausea but still allows me to be awake during the day. Zofran is worth a try as well. Just watch out for the constipation.
Post by divinemsbee on Jan 18, 2015 16:38:39 GMT -5
How was your week? Pretty quiet here. H has been working like a madman trying to get this work project done, so it's been a lot of me on my own. Which has been nice, I get to read million page threads on TB and figure out how to Proboard. And watch lots of TV.
News/developments: Nothing so far. Still on progesterone, which sucks when I forget a pantyliner and get a white blotch on the outside of my pants (classy). This is the longest I've ever made it, so the panic is starting to creep in. I need to go to the lab this week and sit for my first 3 hour glucose, which even my doc says is a total waste of time with my A1c being totally normal, but, it's protocol. Not looking forward to it. Symptoms/cravings/body changes: I really feel pretty normal. A little bloated, but overall the same. I can't eat before noon, though. And I've gone from sleeping 12 hours a night to not sleeping and having crazy weird dreams.
GTKY: how many children do you plan on having? When we started, we wanted 4 and I wanted my last pregnancy to be no later than 35. That was 2 years ago, so, obviously, things do not go as planned. We haven't quite given up on 4, but a lot is going to depend on how this pregnancy goes for me. It's great that we seem to have found and fixed the issue, but I'm extending my deadline to closer to 37. It's kind of a big we'll see at this point.

How was your week? My week was pretty darn good, got a new job (in a new city). Now just need to find a place to live!
News/developments: had my second OB appointment Friday. Found out I have a fibroid, I had been feeling it (lump on the left side of uterus area) and done so much searching as to what the lump was. Now I know, just keeping an eye on it. The midwife was curious so she asked if we could do another U/S right then, of course!! So not only did I hear the little nuggets heart beat for the first time (glorious) but got too see the little bean also Symptoms/cravings/body changes: nothing much, feeling back to normal
GTKY: how many children do you plan on having? I've always wanted two but let's just start with one and see how it goes!
I loved reading all the updates sorry mine was so long!

How was your week?
Not bad. I actually managed to make it to work every day. I had my first doctors appt this week, which was pretty much just paperwork. I thought I would get to hear the heartbeat, but the dr didn't think we would hear much so I have to wait until my next appt. So that was disappointing but I'll survive.
News: Not much news. I've scheduled my NT scan for Feb 3. I'm pretty anxious about it. I'm also leaving on vacation next Saturday (I'm off to Vegas with my hubby for a week), so I'm looking forward to some warmer weather and sunshine.
Symptoms/ Cravings: I'm pretty tired. My dr put me on diclectin for the nausea that I've been having, but it's main side effect is drowsiness. I don't have specific cravings but I sometimes get fixated on specific foods. My appetite is about half of what it used to be.
GTKY: We've always talked about 3 kids. If I'm being honest, I don't think I want to go through this feeling like crap 24/7 thing ever again. Hopefully, by the time we start talking about #2 I will forget how shitty I feel right now.
