This morning got off on the wrong foot and everyone in my house cried before we finally got off to school. I hate feeling out of control of my emotions. Boo hormones!!
I'm currently at dr waiting for my appt and hoping it won't take too long so I can go eat lunch with a friend.
Trying so hard to listen to the motivational sticker I put in my planner "Today I choose joy."

loubug we all have those days. Hope you have a good appt and lunch.
I went to yoga this morning and then ran a mile on the treadmill. Now I'm about to head home and eat some lunch. I need to start a grocery list but I have no idea what I want to make this next week.
Sorry your day started off crappy loubug. Hope it gets better!
So my MIL keeps buying baby clothes, which is fine that she's so excited but ALL of them have phrases on them. DH brought one home yesterday and it says "I'm cute, moms hot, dads lucky" and I was like ohhh that's interesting. DH goes my sons not wearing that lol. Thank goodness he said it because I was going to conveniently misplace it until it was too little.

txcatlady, I'm ok with phrases on baby clothes, within reason, and that one is not ok with me. SIL sent us some onesies and 3 out of the 5 were camo, which is definitely not our style. H just looked at them and said "Those are going in the back of the closet, right?" She also sent 2 pairs of baby shoes, which I will not use. I appreciate the thought but I hate people spending money on stuff we will definitely not use.
My mom has a knack for picking out the ugliest clothes. Like if I'd be better off if she went into a store and picked something while blindfolded. She bought two outfits for him so far and she thought they were the best ever - one had random balls on them, the other had purses and necklaces. Thankfully, she approves of bargain-shopping and I bought most of the baby clothes at a consignment store and told her we really don't need any more clothes.

BabyStandish, SIL gave us a pink "real tree" camo onesie when DD was a baby. That went straight to the garage sale pile. And it was one of the first things to sell. Tells you a lot about where I live. But I must admit that I did but baby boy a dark blue camo print sleeper but I bought it more because it was one of the few I could find without feet and it was on clearance.
I don't mind writing on clothing like "daddy's all star" or something benign like that but hard pass to anything that says "stud" or "chicks dig me". Those get.....lost in the laundry.
I'm running out of ways to keep DS entertained without the TV these days. I know he's bored with his toys, he never really cared to play with toys to begin with. I can't wait until it's consistently nice outside so we can play in the yard. There just aren't any nice indoor play areas around us. There was one close by that I would take my nephew to and we loved it but they closed last year, I was so disappointed.

My MIL just buys us impractical clothing. She bought some fleece sleepers and long sleeved onesies and pants outfits for our baby who will be born in May in FL. And no sooner do I tell her than I'm not a fan of shirts on infants (I prefer onesies until they're walking) then she buys multiple t-shirt and shorts outfits for baby boy.

lupincat, I must admit that the TV has kept DD entertained a lot more than it should lately. Setting her up with a movie is the only way I can get things done sometimes. I'm not proud.
sleepymonkey and lupincat C doesn't really care about the tv but she could watch YouTube on her iPad all day if I let her. FFTC that's usually how I get my makeup done in the morning lol

tortor4, youtube is how I get through Target when it's just me and DD. I swear youtube is like crack to small children. She could sit and watch for hours if I let her, and no matter how long she has watched, she will throw a tantrum when I take it away. That's why she's only allowed to watch when we go to Target and she has to give me back my phone when we get to the car. And she proceeds to cry the whole way home, but at least it's not a public meltdown.
loubug, they make you pee on sticks? That sounds unpleasant. I just have to pee in a cup.
Yeah they hand you the test strip to pee on and then you show it to the nurse. They do not want to touch so then you have to throw it in the trash too. Just gets more difficult the bigger I get to only pee on the strip 😳 in sure they would give me a cup if I asked though.
Kiddo's been complaining about his stomach hurting for a while now. Turns out that temporary lactose intolerance post stomach bug like norovirus is a thing. So we have to have him go dairy free for a week and see if his stomach feels better. Kiddo consumes most of his calories in milk, cheese, and yogurt, so this is going to be an interesting exercise. Especially on Wednesdays which is Pizza Day at lunch. We'll figure out something and hope that full elimination works and he feels better and that slow reintroduction also works and we can get him back to where he was.
Meanwhile, anyone else starting to get BH? They aren't painful, and if it wasn't for my weird belly poking habit, I'd probably barely notice they were happening. STM, but I can't remember when they started happening last time.
jennyelf oh yeah, mine have been happening for at least the 12 weeks. Mine get pretty uncomfortable and I have them all.the.time. I did with C too so I was kind of expecting it.

jennyelf mine have been happening since 22ish weeks. It's usually on days that I workout. They are a little painful though so I definitely notice them. I don't think they happened until the last couple months with DS1.

i didn't have them much with DS, but have definitely noticed them more frequently, for the last 3-4 weeks. Especially on days I don't drink enough water or am more active (i.e. when I'm late for the train and try to run, ha...)
jennyelf I don't remember getting them with DS but I've definitely noticed them starting this time earlier this week (I'm 30+6) especially after lifting my toddler. Today has felt like one giant BH but I can't tell if that's because I tend to over do it on Thursdays (really long super busy clinic day) or if she's just lying in a weird spot because my stomach has felt rock hard all day. Not painful, but definitely uncomfortable. And I got a lot of "you look very pregnant today" or "are you going to have that baby tomorrow" today so apparently i loook as uncomfortable as I feel haha.
Yes to the BH contractions. I started getting them pretty early, like before 20 weeks. They aren't painful but just feel like a tightening sensation. Mildly uncomfortable at the worst.
Like so many of you, I'm not a big fan of lots of words on baby clothes. My MIL couldn't resist a few princess shirts, including daddy's princess, which will make it straight to the sale/donate pile.
Most of the time I get BH when I have a full bladder or right after I've gone. Does not help the situation. I also get them sometimes when my water intake hasn't been good that day. They aren't painful at all for me though.
