Just had my 38 week check and ended up with a surprise NST. So far baby is low but I'm still not dilated. Baby is head down and fluid is okay so it's still a waiting game here. I had terrible back pain last night but thankfully woke up ok.
mosdub I spent my entire last week pregnant obsessing over the weather and looking when storms were forecasted so I could predict if my baby would arrive with the barometric changes, lol.
If I have another baby, I'm just going to have to live at the hospital in the last week; they told me if I have another baby to come in the instant contractions start because of how quickly things progressed this time a 17 hour labor with #1, a 5 hour labor with #2..... I fear that #3 would be like a 1 hour labor. Definite car baby
DS helping DH build a table is the most adorable thing I've ever seen. He loves tools so handing things to daddy and blowing the dust off after DH drills is making his day. The cuteness is killing me. I can see them doing building projects for years and it makes me so happy.
Home alone with both kiddos all day for the first time. Big one peed pants (first time in month). Little one has big blow out. Big one only napped 20 minutes and won't listen. While I showered DD1 got all her games out.
Oh my. This little guy did not want to sleep at all. He had his circumcision before we left the hospital yesterday. He didn't pee until right after we all went to bed. It was the worst scream /cry ever. I think he was just uncomfortable after that and wanted to be held. So tired, need coffee.
+1 to all of this. Baby C had his circumcision yesterday and was a mess all night. He wanted to just constantly feed for comfort, and my nipples are not happy about it. Ugh. I think I got an hour stretch of sleep at one point, but that's about it.
Hopefully things are better for you and baby today. DS seems better, but yes, it was an all night nursing session last night.
I'm feeling some kind of way about my mom inviting herself over.
I mean, just ask it would be fine. Not this, I'll be over at 5 bullshit.
I need a heads up too. That was why I was a little uneasy about moving to the same town as the inlaws.
The first time MIL let herself in without knocking she saw the look on my face, and never did it again. I also told her that sometimes when I'm alone I don't close the bathroom door. That fixed that problem.
Guys, I'm kind of freaking out. They're calling for either a "major" or "crippling" snowstorm here on Monday into Tuesday. The weather blog I follow compared it to the blizzard of '93 (which means something if you're on the east coast) and said roads will be impassible. It's early and that could change but I'm terrified I'll go into labor. I have no idea what we would do!
@priss08 opposite over here. DD loves to be swaddled, but can roll over, so we can't swaddle her at night. Poor baby sleeps so much better during the day when I swaddle her and watch her.
caer that would freak me out too! I hope the storm isn't as bad as they are predicting. How far are you from the hospital?
About 25 minutes. And our childcare is over an hour away. So it could be interesting! I've gone into psycho mode and am wondering if we should get a hotel room near the hospital. But yes, hopefully the predictions are wrong and we won't have to worry about it.

The night I had DD they were predicting a foot of snow/blizzard. My parents were worried they wouldn't be able to get to the hospital. It snowed 0 inches.

Maybe the doctor's or midwives would have some recommendations for you? I don't think it is crazy to get a hotel room near the hospital.
That's a good idea. I have an appointments early on Monday morning and should have a better idea of the forecast at point.

D'S also loved it. It's so strange how two kids can be so different already.
No! caer! That's scary! My friend went into labor during a huge snow storm. They had to call 911 and tell them to bring a plow because they wouldn't be able to make it down her street. The storm won't hit wear you are though.

We are well into the marathon that is the second night. DD has been latched for nearly 2 hours. She's giving me a break for some skin to skin snuggles but I feel like it will be short lived. She is a MUCH better nurser than DS was so I'm hoping it continues to be smooth sailing on the eating front.

Oh no! That's scary.
It is. Sorry. That was supposed to be more of a you will be ok though. Don't worry story. 😬
It's still a few days away caer, if I were you I'd wait until maybe Sunday morning/Saturday night to see the projection on snow fall. There have been times we were supposed to get a huge storm only for it to fizzle or pass around us. If you know it's going to hit and be bad, maybe it couldn't hurt to get a room for a night or two!

Thanks! I'm trying not to borrow trouble but my anxiety is making it hard. Hopefully you're right and it ends up being NBD.
I have my 37 week appointment today at 11:30am. Part of me is irrationally nervous because this was the appointment with DD where my blood pressure was through the roof and they ultimately decided to induce me the next day. Not that I would hate that, it's just nerve-racking.
That's exactly how I was feeling this week too! I had my 37 week apt and I was terrified as my daughter was induced at 37 weeks for htn. Of course too my diastolic was high this week but they are letting him cook!
