Yay Friday! We have C's appointment and shots this morning so nothing else on the agenda. I *might* go to Target for a couple things after since it's next to the pediatrician but that will depend on how C is doing.
Morning all. I'm meeting another mom for lunch today and she wants to go for a walk afterwards, on the beach, where it's usually windy AF. It's suppose to be 26* today. I'll have to find a polite way to say no thank you, I would like to stay warm on this Friday. I may use crappy sleep as an excuse so I don't look like a wimp.
The whole time change, springing ahead, thing feels like an entirely new ballgame now that there's a baby involved.
Yes.. H and I were just talking about this. No idea how it's going to affect C. My dog will be happy though because she'll be eating dinner "early". I really wish they would just stop daylight savings time. It's so pointless now.
H is getting off shift this morning and has the next two days off! Not sure what we're going to do yet, but he's said he'd go along with whatever plans I make. Maybe I'll make some more coffee and think of something fun to do!

At this age it's not that big of a deal. Just wait a few years
Ehh...it's been frustrating not being able to put her in her bed before 10:30. I might lose my mind if that becomes 11:30 every night.
ETA: cannot imagine it with a toddler though. Yeah...nope.
Good luck everybody?
I'm in the same boat as you because I also have a baby that goes to bed very late. I'm not excited about the time change at all. It just means even less adult time than I already get. Also more daylight which means she is more likely to want to start her day at the 6 a.m. wakeup rather than fall back asleep with me for another 2 hours.
But it's not all doom and gloom with a toddler. It depends on the kid. DS does perfectly fine with time changes. He's not on a rigid schedule so he adjusts easily. I have no problem still putting him to bed at 7:30 (even if it feels like 6:30 to him) because he just sits up in his crib talking to himself for hours anyway. What's an extra hour lol?

E just had the most massive blow out. Like through 3 layers of clothes, up the side, in the front. It was in her belly button for gods sake! But I'm suppose to be meeting this person for lunch at noon so no time for a bath. I just gave her a fake bath with lots of wipes. #moty

Today will not be terribly exciting. It's a rest day for me, which is a good thing because I'm sore AF from Orangetheory yesterday. After D wakes up from her next nap I'm going to the Verizon store to yell at them for a bit, then to the grocery store.
That's really it. DH did say he'd try to be home by both kids' bedtimes tonight. That'd be a nice change, so we'll see. Whenever he does get home, we'll be watching the new Survivor on our DVR!

Since Mia refuses a bottle I've collected a small stash of breast milk in the freezer. I'm proud of it and thought that if she never takes a bottle I can at least mix it in her purees. I have a pile of fruits and veggies to premake and freeze purees this weekend and just realized that you can't refreeze previously frozen BM. And by the time she starts with a sippy cup the largest part my stash will have to be tossed.

I kept O home from daycare today. So he lasted a whopping 4 days...He appeared more sick last night. He has a ped appt at 12:45 that my H is taking him to. I wish I could be there but I have taken too much time off this week. H never asks enough questions. Also the person that hit him doesn't have "enough" insurance to fix his car... sooo we are going to have to file a claim on ours to make up the difference! Yay! Not. So he's super pissed about that too... fun times in the cookswithwine household.

Not enough insurance?!! Shit @cookswithwine I'm so sorry. I always wondered about those bare minimum insurance plans and if they actually covered anything.

Well we're back from our 4 month appointment. She gave us the OK to start cereals right now but said to do oatmeal, barley, etc more than rice because there may be some concerns about the arsenic levels in rice. And she recommended we go through those first for a couple weeks before adding in more food. I also think she said that once we start adding in food, it's ok to start trying ANYTHING and we're not restricted to just fruits and veggies but to stick with one thing for 3 to 4 days before trying the next thing.
She also wants us to get an ultrasound done on C's head because it grew so much. He went from 49th to 85th %. She doesn't expect any issue but just wants to make sure. His development is all right on track so she's happy with everything else.
Shots he did ok with. He cried really hard for a few minutes and wouldn't settle in his car seat. Eventually he fell asleep though. Then on our way home, I started crying myself. I don't know why but the ultrasound and his crying just got to me. Made me think back to when he was just days old and having to get an IV and heal pricks and his crying was just so upsetting. I'm sure his US will be fine but I'm avoiding google right now.

waitwhat Well I'm sorry you don't know how to enjoy good music! 😛
hangry There is no way I'd go for a walk in 20s degree weather (even without kids lol) let alone on a beach. Hopefully Es blow out somehow translated into a good excuse!
sophiegrace Still no luck with bottles? Do we know if anyone has tried the Bare bottle.. MH was asking me if "any of [my] internet friends" we're talking about it lol.
tgrimes1980 How is H feeling? Is his cold/congestion the reason he was up so much or no clue? I'm sorry YH slept through it, makes a shitty frustrating situation even shittier.
Yay waitwhat! I've heard that some babies go back to belly first.
hangry Have definitely done. In fact, Lilah had a terrible blow out when we were out one day. I'm pretty sure I didn't remember to give her a bath when we got home...just the wipe bath she got.
I'm sorry starbuck27. I hope Saturday night comes quickly and you get tons of well deserved rest!

I'm so sorry for the stressful appointment goldenlove3. Did they by any chance remeasure? The difference between 49% and 85% is mayyyyybe a half an inch so if C moved or they did it quickly it could have very easily been measured a smidge wrong. I hope he's feeling better already and you have your smiley baby back!
One more night starbuck27, you've got this. It seems like a lot of the pediatricians are on board with starting at least cereals at four months. Would that help them get a longer stretch at night maybe? I don't know if that's the route you want to take, but man I wish they'd sleep a bit better for you.
kleigh I had to look that bottle up! It looks so cool. I'm tempted to try it, but I think I'm just going to throw in the towel. It's another month and a half before she can start a sippy so I'm just going to keep hoping she takes to that. Stubborn lady.
Oh poor O cookswithwine9!! How miserable for both of you.
Go J!!!! waitwhat Back to belly first?! I love it.
