Anyone dealing with this or have dealt with it before?
I think my fenugreek tea caused DS to get constipated - at least that's the only change recently. I stopped drinking it on Wed but he is still constipated.
Of course when I was at his doctors on Tuesday he had 2 bowel movements before the appt so I told the doctor he seemed cleared up now.
If it keeps goingg over the weekend I will take him in again on Tuesday when DH can drive us.
Anything else I can do other than some stomach rubbing and some leg movements?
It feels like we can't seem to catch a break right now

This is going to sound like a stupid question, but I'm serious and not trying to insult you: are you sure he's constipated?
Breastfed babies can go several days without pooping. Like over a week.
If he's acting really uncomfortable that's of course a different situation, but if he's just not pooping I wouldn't automatically worry.
I don't think there is much else you can do if he IS constipated than the rubbing/bicycling. I've seen some people have success with taking a rectal temperature to help things out, because sometimes their bodies get confused and shut that sphincter when it should be open. Worth a try if he's in a bad way.
Thanks at kristhegirl. He is very uncomfortable and he cries bad while trying to push. So I'm almost certain he is clogged up.
He does fart alot so at least the gas is getting out ok.
I admittingly tried the rectal thermometer today after googling but it didn't help and I felt a bit silly listening to strangers so I figured to ask here.
I keep thinking how could they let me leave the hospital as if I know what I'm doing with a newborn.
It's only been 2 days so I guess that's not too bad as he is getting more breast milk than formula most feeds.
It's incredible how much someone else's bodily functions suddenly mean to you. This is why parents just casually talk about pee/poop/vomit - it's basically always on your mind for a while.

The warm water in the shower will help. Just hold him on you and let the warm water hit his back. Also, hold him in a frog like position -- let he is going to play leap frog. Sorry he is pain. That's worst 😞
mikaela20 I'm sorry you (and baby) are dealing with that Our girls sometimes went a couple days in between poops and did get uncomfortable. We just did the usual tummy massage and bicycled legs. Also, I would make a special note if his poop is actually firm like a log or red/white/black (if he does get some out) and give your pedi a call sooner if that is the case. Otherwise I hope he gets it out soon and gets some relief!
