My lovely children do not sleep in, 6am-ish every day. I feel like I'm "on" all day during the week as I don't get any me time, especially since I'm in the middle of the newborn stage. So last night I negotiated sleeping in this morning. I got an extra 1.5 hours with no children in the room. It was glorious. Then I came downstairs to coffee and a breakfast sandwich. Mh will be getting lucky today.
We're splitting up the kids up to run errands this morning. It will be more efficient and then we can chill at home the rest of the day. I feel invincible. I can take on allllll the stores with just one kid! Plus I have dd and the baby bucket plus a sleeping baby make it incredibly easy.
B has a cold. He went 3hrs, 2 hrs, then 2.5 hrs. Waaah.
I'm solo today because DH is picking up a new mattress for us. I'm embarrassed to admit that it's been 12 years since we've gotten a new one. It's sorely needed. 😬
Oh also - my super awesome news is that they're moving DD up a room at daycare!!! She's skipping ahead of 4 other older kids because she's more ready than they are. I'm thankful because it was so obvious that she was acting out due to boredom. She came home all smiles yesterday after her first day in the new room. She's so much happier when she's being challenged.
Binge watching hgtv is the only thing I miss about not having cable carrots, enjoy!
I have a Kohls gift card from returned baby gifts we didn't need due to size or style but now I don't know what to spend it on. I think it's a combination of Kohls isn't my style, the kids don't really need anything right now, and I hate paying full price for things they'll be in for a short time. Plus I love the thrill of the second hand hunt. I wandered around for a bit but nothing caught my eye. I'm kind of bummed I couldn't find anything.
I had like $200 in kohls cash from buying my 5 point harness booster car seats for DD lakegirl and couldn't for the life of me find anything I wanted to spend it on. Kohls is not really my style either apparently.

I never pay full price at kohls. #clearanceracks4lyfe
ellabee, great news about DD. I'm glad she's being challenged.
We didn't have as good of a night as we've been having but still not awful. C went down around 9 and was up at 130, then 3-730. Of course I didn't go to bed til after 11, so I'm tired but such is life. We're getting ready to go to ILs for the C meet n greet with that side of the family. Hopefully she stays happy!
L had an AWESOME night. But I woke up engorged an hour before he did, and then my brain decided motn was a great time to contemplate the future of my career, so I've been up since 2 am lol. My boss and another colleague both sent me an open role the other day they wanted to make sure I didn't miss, and I realized I'm really not sure what I want my next step to be.
I had one of my best friends come over today to meet baby F, it was good to catch up with her. She's getting married next May and is very excited to start TTC right away.
We are on our way home from ILs now. C did ok, we played pass the baby, but luckily everyone washed their hands so hopefully she doesn't come down with anything. I did get lots of eye rolling advice from Hs great aunt and aunt. Like "she's hungry, give her some formula" (knowing I nurse). And "add some cereal to her bottle to fill her up" also knowing she rarely gets bottles. Grandma wasn't able to be there because her leg was bothering her so that was a bummer, but I definitely got closer to Hs cousins fiancé because she put up with all the same crazy when she had their son almost 2 years ago, so we talked while I nursed and everyone else left me alone because they're not comfortable around nursing moms.
I did a mini clean out session of my dresser. I'm excited to get rid of the maternity tops that are not conducive for nursing. I tried on my regular jeans. I could button them but they wouldn't be comfy for an extended period. So then I took the dog for a walk in the freezing cold. The wind chill burns extra calories right?
Have not braved regular jeans yet. My maternity jeans are falling down tho, I've been living in leggings and sweats. Hopefully maxi dress weather arrives soon.

I'm in the same boat hiking up my maternity pants so I thought I'd give real pants a try. Sadly real pants highlighted that the 20 pregnancy pounds I need to lose are all squishy, two babies wrecked my tummy pounds. Oh well, at least the kids are cute.

My regular jeans fit but are uncomfortable even though I'm under my pre-pregnancy weight. My flab has resettled itself lower which I think is part of the problem.
My work pants better fit in eight weeks or I'm gonna be in trouble.
Not much happening here this weekend. DH had to work Thursday, Friday Saturday so I'm wiped out. I want to do some exchanges of baby clothes but not sure I'll have the motivation to do it tomorrow. Actually the mall will probably be quieter Monday...
B hates sleeping. I don't know what happened but now every tin I put him in his bassinet for bed he'll go 15-20 minutes before fussing and being awake again. He did this from 7-10 and even after he managed to go down fully he only went 3hrs. The I put him back down and he's asleep for 15 minutes before being awake again. I've been patting his bum on and off for the last 20 minutes and he'll snooze for a bit then wake again.
I'm struggling and at a loss. DD was never like this. Once I got her down she'd be down and I could always see her trending towards longer stretches.
I feel like B was going in the right direction but then regressed. I know he'd do great if we co-slept, but I refuse to have that be my normal because it makes me sleep like crap worrying about him.
ellabee I'm sorry, that is rough, and it does such a number on your sanity. We are having crappier sleep but nothing like that. I hope he starts giving you some rest and longer stretches.
Coming out of lurking. We had a sleepy day yesterday, growth spurt or leap or a combo not sure but he slept all day and night. I got a 5am wake up which included a poopy nappy change and then the ejection of his bottle. So that meant 2 changes of clothes. He got a weigh in on Monday and is 12lb 7 in size 3-6 month baby grows , Max was never this big so quick
Heyyyyy I'm in the city at the flower show with my college bff! We went to High Tea and everything was delicious. Everything is so pretty and colorful, a nice pop of color before we get more snow.

otepoti N is almost on pace for DS at this age and he started out a pound heavier and was small for his age after. She'll be 11lbs by two months which seems huge to me (she was just under 7 at birth)
silvermelody, Poor Max was only just back to his birth weight by 6 weeks due to breastfeeding struggles but caught up once on the bottle (more or less) in a matter of weeks. It is nice in a way to have such a solid little boy this time. I love the counting from your A14, DS likes to go 1,7,8 when asked to count but can count solidly to 7 when he thinks we're not paying attention.
I'm doing 4 hours at work tomorrow as a "Keep in touch" day to keep some of my training valid while I'm off. I'm looking forwards to it and dreading it.

otepoti my A14 was under for a while because of BF issues but with him we had to do formula for a few weeks and he was over birth weight by 6 weeks (I looked back at my records to compare). It's kind of nice having a chubby baby this time except she's going to outgrow clothes so much faster!
DS likes to count objects, not just count out loud. Not sure if that would make a difference with M.
Good luck at work tomorrow. I keep an eye on my email a few times a week but only intervene if it's really urgent or no one else can handle it.
