It's freezing again and I don't want to leave the house but I have a much needed hair appointment at 11. Then I'm going to have some alone time and FINALLY go to Target and do whatever else I need.
I grinded up some oatmeal for C. But as much as I talked about wanting to start solids, I'm so not ready lol. It helps to know that it's just for fun right now though.
Hugs and coffee to all the tired mamas this morning.
I'm just laying in bed with a sleeping D right now. I'm kinda hungry but don't want to get up yet, plus she will almost certainly wake up if I (and my body heat) leave the bed. H took DS to the city so we're going to have a lazy girls' morning. Coffee will definitely be involved.
I think later today all four of us are going to meet up with one of my new friends from my moms group and her H (and baby, obv) at a sports bar. Her DS is one day younger than D I hope her H is cool. I met some of the best friends of my life in my moms group after having DS 2 years ago and we all still get together at least once a week, but DH never really bonded with any of the dads. He has lots of friends but it would be nice for him to have a local dad friend or two as well.
Okay, random gripe but... I was just browsing on zulily, which has Spanx for sale. The models they have wearing the stuff have zero fat anywhere and literally would never be using shape wear. As a consumer I have trouble figuring out what I want to buy because I am not seeing the product's intended use. Would it kill them to hire some plus-sized girls for this?
On a related note, has anyone on here had good luck with shape wear? I have not, because I have a short torso and wide rib cage and IME I can't pull the thing up enough to not have it roll over at the top edge because it can't fit over my ribcage. And when it rolls over you can clearly see it under clothes.
Recommendations? This working out thing is great but I still have a ton of loose fat and skin around my belly that is not going to disappear in the next month before I have to go back to work and wear real clothes again.

dashook I've tried shapeware but have the same issues. Either I'm pouring out over the top or I have a bulge on the bottom. I had this issue even when I was at my thinnest (lol at myself for thinking I needed it back then when I would kill to get back there now).
My only way around this when I go back to work is finding some loose fitting shirts. We're business casual though so that might be a good option for you.

Yeah, I think a shopping trip is happening as soon as DH gets paid this month.
waitwhat that sounds like a great day, have fun with your dad! It's totally normal too to feel that way about parting with the baby clothes. Those things really can evoke all the feels.

DS1's birthday is next week so we're doing his party today. Nothing big, just family at our house. I'm excited, even though he doesn't really care at all.
Add me to the no sleep club. I took my first "nap when they nap" nap today with Adeline - 1.5 hours and it was heavenly. So much stuff to do around the house but she was up fussing all night (I'm confident bc of her immunizations) and was running a low fever and diarrhea. Poor girl.
My mom is watching the kids tonight so H and I can hang out with friends. Just going to the Irish club and Naybe a bar after. My brother and his two kids (10, 8) are staying over also, his kids love our house and feel cool sleeping on the trundle beds in the guest bedroom so I figure I'll get their favorite snacks and set them up with movies and their dad (my brother) can help my mom with A & A.
Not much going on here. We went to the indoor play place again and now I'm just trying to keep E napping while feeding her. She needs this quiet time to nap but the only dark room in the house is where O is napping so she keeps waking up. It's going to suck if she only gets another 20 min map right now.
Hi and happy Saturday! Wishing everyone who needs them naps and caffeine.
I met a friend for pedicures earlier today and since getting home, C and I have been "supervising" DH and B doing yardwork (i.e., enjoying the fresh air and sunshine). They just left for round 2 of mulch, so I'm going to try and finish some trim painting (it. is. never-ending.) while C naps.
Sorry to have been MIA the last couple days, the house and threenager are keeping me running. House goes live on Thursday so I can just survive this week hopefully I'll be around more.

Hope your hair is looking fabulous right now goldenlove3!
Please tell me M at least still naps @tgrimes1989? 5:45...lawd!
Oooh enjoy the sports bar dashook! I hope the H's hit it off. Also, after my loss I refused to wear maternity clothes and my regular clothes weren't flattering at all so I used my belly support belt. It cranked everything back into a better and smoother position.
Is it the cutest thing in the world to listen to them bake a cake together danib? Because in my mind that just sounds adorable.
waitwhat what time is dinner? I'll bring everyone their own bottle of wine.
That picture is adorable vinolove! I'd love to be at the beach right about now.
Enjoy the party jubilantsquirrel! I hope J has fun! Is there a theme?
have ALL THE FUN tonight kleigh!! I'm squeeing a bit for you that you get to let loose for a bit with your H.
hangry M had progressively needed less and less stimuli during nap time too. Even a blank wall becomes the most interesting thing in the world when she needs sleep.
We have no power. Hoyses are losing shingles and siding, whole patios are ripped off, trees and power lines are cracked off. What a mess!!! Fingers crossed we escape any damage.
Yikes! These winter storms are no joke. Stay safe and hopefully it's over soon so you can have power restored.
We had some crazy wind here recently that caused a ton of damage and power outages--so unusual for this time of year (we typically don't see that til hurricane season.)
We are going on 5 hours of awake time without a nap. I'm going to lose my fucking mind.
ETA I just fed him an hour ago but I knew if I nursed him he would fall asleep (and I've tried everything) so I did. And he's out cold. Like within minutes. And now I feel like an asshole for losing my patience and getting angry with him.

It's so cold here. It wouldn't be such a big if it hadn't been 78 on Wednesday.
H is still sick, but at least in a good mood. Except he dropped giant thing of yogurt this morning. Idk wtf he did when he was "cleaning" it up, but I now have to figure out how to get it out from in between the hardwood. Thank goodness I'm in a good mood and it's somehow hilarious to me. This would be enough to send me off the deep end some days.

Did I ever tell you guys about the time (about 3 years ago) that H and I got into the. worst. fight. ever. - fueled by infertility struggles - and I threw a jar of plastic honey ?
Don't do it. Don't ever ever ever throw a jar of honey. Honey is the most impossible thing to get up/out especially from hardwood creases! Thank god we were tearing N the house down two months later because otherwise our dog would still be licking honey from the cracks ! Lol
But don't you love when you're I a good mood and you can take these things like NBD - helps when the H is in a good mood 😉

sophiegrace, fire trucks! But I'm bummed because I can't find a fire truck balloon to save my life. With everyone being sick for the last week and a half I had to wait until last minute to buy things. I had no idea fire truck balloons were so hard to find or I would have just ordered one off Amazon.

Honey kleigh?! HONEY?! I would have to move. I probably would have done something similar though, assuming the plastic wouldn't crack only to have it explode everywhere. Speaking of your dog, how's that crazy gal doing? I've said many times since M got here that I'm never getting another dog again.
I would have thought the same thing about a fire truck balloon jubilantsquirrel. Everyone feeling ok today?
Mmm cider waitwhat. You've inspired my drink of choice tonight.
Didn't think about tornados danib. Or hurricanes. Or earthquakes. Or tsunamis. Come to think of it, I live in what must be one of the tamer weather areas because everything extreme gives me the worries.
That stinks tgrimes1980. I can never manage nap when M naps and she never seems to want to go down when I'm sleepy. Mehhh.

Y'all...I'm not even going to try to reply. Forgive me. I'm so effing tired right now.
Lilah gave me 6 hours! Whaaaat? That hasn't happened in a while. But, I didn't go to sleep until midnight and then Lillian woke me up at 5:30. Lilah nursed at 4. So...not much sleep. Then we went for a 1.5 mile walk in drizzle. After we got home, I spent a couple of hours setting up our new TV and sound bar. DH helped. And then I had to put everything away. DVDs, games, pictures, tools, user manuals, etc. I took a break to eat and feed Lilah, took a shower, and then cleaned like a crazy person. My in laws will be here tomorrow so I have to get the house looking nice. I still have about half of the things to do. But! Major progress. DH is taking me to dinner. He said I worked really hard today and shouldn't have to cook on top of it. He's so sweet.
We did not let Lillian nap today in preparation for daylight savings. She's going to bed at 7 tonight and we expect she'll get up around 7 tomorrow morning. That should set her up to go to bed at 8:30 tomorrow.
Good luck and godspeed to all tonight. Some of your babies really owe you.
Mine is about to go down for her last nap of the day and then hopefully she'll just chill quietly with us til her bedtime so we can have some TV time. Obviously I have to moderate the drinky drinks til after she goes down but still, I'm looking forward to it.
DS didn't nap today (again) so I'm letting DH handle his cranky ass upstairs. I'm really glad it isn't me right now.

My mom texted me while I was getting my hair done and she decided to make one of my favorite meals last minute.. so we came over here for dinner. We thought maybe we could have an impromptu night out but none of our friends are available (it was a long shot anyway). C is being difficult getting to nap anyway so we'll probably head home soon so we can get him ready for bed.
But before getting crabby, he was being funny and discovered a new game called put my hand in mom's face while she's trying to shush me to sleep. I could not stop laughing and that in turn made C smile and even chuckle a couple times. My mom had to take over because I was laughing so much.
Whew! Long day. I've been doing inside chores while DH and B worked in the yard. We made a lot of progress so I'm feeling slightly less stressed.
C legit laughed for the first time this past week but I haven't heard it again since. Today DH had her giggling non-stop. Apparently I'm not the funny one 😂
Pizza for dinner, and I think we may attempt to catch up on some DVRed shows once the kids are in bed. I just want to put my feet up and relax (preferably with a bowl of the B&J double fudge brownie ice cream that's waiting for me).

Birthday party was a success!
House is 90% clean and gifts are 80% put away. Both boys are passed out, the dog is happily chewing on a dog bone and MH went out to some concert. I'm in the recliner sipping hot lemon water with honey (I'M NOT GETTING SICK, OK?!) and watching the series finale of The Vampire Diaries.
We got the Sit Me Up seat back from H's brother yesterday, and not a day too soon. D loves it! She's lording over her old toys with such pride now that she can look at them from a different angle.
I'm guessing she'll use this for another 6 weeks and then it'll be time to lend it back to BIL. They're expecting their second in October
