ssm it's probably still good. It's sealed and it's not real milk. Pretty sure that stuff could survive a nuclear holocaust.
thats what dh said. He said it says refrigerate after opening. And its ultra pasteurized so NOTHING could live in it. He told me to taste each carton before giving it to b.
This morning I woke up before everyone else and was craving donuts. Before pregnancy I was gluten free for thyroid issues. I can't hang while being pregnant and caved and ate two chocolate iced donuts filled with custard. #noregrets #yet 🍩🍩
o was gf mostly too. It upset my stomach with bloating a lot. But since getting pregnant, I don't bloat with gluten!! And it's glorious!

I haven't gotten diarrhea from it yet so I can't stop, won't stop. I do try to intake in moderation- i.e. Not eating all 6 donuts.

Well the baby decided that spending St. Patrick's Day in the emergency room would be fun. Nothing like a bunch of bright red bleeding to send you straight to 11.
Good news is baby looks fine and we can't see a reason for the bleed

kboyet I am GF too and last pregnancy I was able to tolerate quite a bit in my diet. I had so many delicious things then. I'm back to being GF and this pregnancy I haven't been able to tolerate it. Luckily I found an amazing GF bakery and bought some treats.
Sorry for blowing up this thread but I'm being lazy.
I will be 12 weeks tomorrow. I can't believe how fast this seems to be going. We get to see our little bebe on Monday and I can't wait!
Oh hi twin! 12 weeks tomorrow and we have our level two U/S Monday along with blood work for genetic screening. Excited to see baby!
I'm also GF and was dairy free as well. Not so much now. It is so hard to stop when I don't have any symptoms/consequence from indulging. I keep telling myself I'll do better when the nausea and food aversions slow down.......

Wow we are life twins. I was dairy free too- still avoid milk and ice cream. May I ask why you were gf and dairy free?

Spending a day at your favorite wineries NOT drinking sucks as much as you'd imagine. But we stocked up on stuff that can age nicely for 7 months. And at our favorite winery, the owners are like DS's surrogate grandparents, they were so excited to hear about baby cougar 2.0. In fact, I think they were more excited than my in-laws, haha.
I lost my patience with DS acting like a 2 year old (how dare he, right?) at dinner, but the waitress asked if she should bring out his pasta first. I almost cried as I said yes. That did the trick, phew.

I have an auto immune disease called Ankylosing Spondylitis, which is arthritis of the spine. There's a specific diet that has shown to help, which is a starch free diet. So gluten free + lots more restrictions. Last fall I went dairy free in addition to no starch and was able to stop all pain meds, which was amazing, I was basically managing the disease with diet alone. I hope to go back to at least a lower starch diet after all these food aversions and nausea reside. I don't do milk but have added some cheese and a bit of ice cream with no issues so far.

Ah, I too, have an auto immune disease called Graves Disease. I was able to regulate which was awesome because they wanted to burn out my thyroid. My levels right now are a tad hyper but my dr isn't concerned at this point. I may need to reign it in soon.
Also, awesome that you were able to use diet to get off pain meds! It's pretty incredible.
I'm up enjoying some snuggle time on the couch with my son while he watches kid shows. I should really be up starting my laundry marathon, but that will have to wait. Today is my niece's birthday which means pizza and cake for dinner. I think my two year old and I are equally as excited.
kboyet I have Graves' disease too. I developed it after DD.
Did you have it with your first?
I was diagnosed a couple of years before I got pregnant with my first. I am allergic to methimazole and took a low dose of ptu the entire first pregnancy and then went into remission. It reared its ugly head again last summer and I changed my diet to avoid medication/surgery/RAI. Are you currently on medication? Right now I am just getting bloodwork drawn every month. My TSH has been .01 but my T3 and T4 are in range so my doctor isn't worried.

My endo switched me to PTU when I got pregnant. I was on methimazole before that. I'm on a low dose of the PTU because I swung hypo on my last set of bloodwork. Right now I'm getting bloodwork done every two weeks. I just had my antibodies check too and they were present but lower than when I got diagnosed.
I want to go with midwives like I did with my first but my endo is concerned about it. Midwifery is fairly new in my province and highly regulated so I'm not sure if it's because he's unfamiliar with the type of care or if there's something I'm missing. A lot of the stuff I read about complications seems to be related to women who are diagnosed during pregnancy and have been untreated. Did you have any issues with your first?
Sorry for all the questions, I'm having a hard time finding good research on pregnancy and Graves.
augustblooms I didn't have an issues with my first pregnancy. I think it gets dangerous if you go undiagnosed and aren't being monitored by an endo. This pregnancy I am seeing a midwife and last time I was basically in the care of a midwife as well.
Also, you may have swung hypo because the baby is taking thyroid hormones from you which often times helps level people out. My levels were normal last month but this month went hyper again.
I'd be happy to lend an ear during the pregnancy- nice to know someone who is going through the same thing!

My mom just found out she has this. I'll let her know starch free helps with it.

racegurl87, it definitely helps. She can look into the "London AS Diet" which references the first dr who noticed the correlation with AS and starch. It is overwhelming at first, for sure. There are helpful Facebook groups if she's interested. Feel free to PM if she has specific questions.

I will. She's not on Facebook, but I definitely will message you if any questions come up. She's been working on changing her diet to add in more anti-inflammatory foods.

Oh, and this babywearing wrap arrived yesterday and I'm super excited for it. My first size 8, cotton and Tencel. It is inspired by Legend of Zelda Pretty sure this is going to be used in our FB announcement for #2.
