How far along are you/will you be? Almost 10 weeks
What kind of appointment is it? (OB, ultrasound, bloodwork, etc) OB to go over blood work from my first appt. Maybe an ultrasound if they don't hear the heartbeat (though I wonder if they'll even try this early?)
Any feels? (vents, rants, worries) These first few appointments I'm nervous, though I know I shouldn't worry. I hope I get another look today.
AFTER YOUR APPOINTMENT (AYA):
How was it? Great! They tried the Doppler, but couldn't find it. We did a belly ultrasound and there it was wiggling away.
What did you expect? I thought they may try the Doppler, but went in figuring out was still too small to hear. I was right.
What did you learn? That he had my due date as the 9th instead of the 12th like my first u/s said. But today's u/s said the 9th too, so there ya go.
New feels? Definitely ready to tell coworkers. I'm also going to tell my mom it's ok to tell some, but I still want to mostly keep it quiet for a few more weeks.
Next appointment/follow up: I have my blood test for the Zika screening on Thursday. Next ob appt is 4/10.

When: Friday March 17th, St. Patrick's Day! 🍀
How far along: 8 weeks 3 days
What type: First appointment, see my MW, get a u/s.
Vents/concerns: I'm anxious for the appt! I actually think a later first appt has worked in my favor this time. I'm oddly less nervous than my previous pregnancies where I had the early 6 week u/s.
What kind of appointment is it? (OB, ultrasound, bloodwork, etc) OB. I think this appt last time they checked HB on the doppler, if I remember correctly.

When is your appointment? Thursday 3/16.
How far along are you/will you be? 8+5
What kind of appointment is it? First with the OB vs the midwife, ultrasound, need to get my referral for the hematologist.
Any feels? Appointment was supposed to be tomorrow but dammit if we're not getting a fucking foot of snow so I had to reschedule. I'm just glad they could get me in this week. I'm super anxious to see that everything is *hopefully* looking ok.

When is your appointment? Right now
How far along are you/will you be? 7w3d
What kind of appointment is it? (OB, ultrasound, bloodwork, etc) first appointment, u/s, and then 1st tri blood work
Any feels? (vents, rants, worries) Definitely nervous since I had done betas and one u/s before this point with DD (DD's pregnancy was pgal for me). I just want everything to be okay and know what's going on in there
AFTER YOUR APPOINTMENT (AYA):
How was it? Good. Pelvic exam and a dating u/s
What did you expect? I just wanted to see a baby on the u/s
What kind of appointment is it? (OB, ultrasound, bloodwork, etc) OB with ultrasound. I have an SCH so my doc wants to keep an eye on me.
Any feels? (vents, rants, worries) not really, i have had some bleeding but knowing where it's coming from helps me to not be too worried. i'm hoping it'll stop soon though.
(Edited 3/16) AFTER YOUR APPOINTMENT (AYA):
How was it? It was really good. Got to see the little babe again and hb is strong and baby is growing well.
What did you expect? Wasn't sure what to expect, just hoped for the best.
What did you learn? My SCH has gotten smaller, I lost two pounds since my last appt last week Monday.
New feels? Feeling very positive and hopeful.
Next appointment/follow up: In one week, on the 23rd.
ETA: I'm so glad to be far along enough now where I don't have to use the dildo cam anymore. I hate that thing.

When is your appointment? Tomorrow AM.
How far along are you/will you be? 8+2
What kind of appointment is it? (OB, ultrasound, bloodwork, etc) My first appointment this pregnancy with my GP, at the minimum she'll send me for bloodwork.
Any feels? (vents, rants, worries). I want an ultrasound so bad to make sure everything is ok, I have no reason to thinks things are not ok I just want that reassurance. It supposed to snow like crazy here so getting to my appointment will be interesting.
AFTER YOUR APPOINTMENT (AYA):
How was it? Very short, as to be expected. Luckily the Ultrasound clinic had an opening in the afternoon and I got to have my dating ultrasound.
What did you expect? Exactly what happened.
What did you learn? Nada, solidified my decision to go with midwives.
New feels? Very happy to see one little bean with a heartbeat measuring right on track. I got rushed out and forgot to ask for a picture.
Next appointment/follow up: Next week with my midwives.
What kind of appointment is it? (OB, ultrasound, bloodwork, etc) - I saw the NP about meds for nausea/vomiting (B6/Unisom, Reglan & Phenergan didn't work).
Any feels? (vents, rants, worries) - I was a little nervous that they wouldn't take my nausea seriously or think I was overreacting.
AFTER YOUR APPOINTMENT (AYA):
How was it? Went very well! The NP was very kind and understanding. I think that I'm borderline dehydrated helped my case.
What did you expect? Just to chat about symptoms.
What did you learn? I got to hear baby's heartbeat on the Doppler, which was unexpected! It was such a beautiful sound!
New feels? It's starting to feel real, like this might actually happen!
Next appointment/follow up: My OB appointment will be 3/29 - I'll get an u/s then and the MaterniT21 testing done.
How was it? OB appointment was stressful because my BP was high and my OB likes to go to the worst possible or scenario. MFM appointment was more encouraging, and I really like her. So I'm glad I'll be seeing both practices. OB is considering me a high risk delivery and wanted to refer me to another hospital's MFM practice because not all docs at the current MFM handle deliveries. But, the MFM I met with today says if my OB practice is uncomfortable handling the delivery, she and another doctor in th practice do do deliveries when necessary. So, more than likely my MFM will deliver baby.
Because of the elevated BP I have to do a 24 hour urine catch this weekend and bring it in Monday and have some additional bloodwork done and a BP check to see if the new dose is working.
What did you expect? Not much at the OB. Just a general check in. MFM was a consult, so lots of talking about Game Plan for this pregnancy as well as everything that happened during last pregnancy.
What did you learn? That all the blood vessels in the placenta are fully formed by 16 weeks. The MFM was urgent in her request I start taking baby aspirin now to help facilitate the growth of a healthy, fully formed placenta. I didn't see a placenta report from my last pregnancy, but she suspects mine only formed about 60%, which is why once baby hit over 4 lbs, the pre-e kicked in. The placenta couldn't support the bigger baby, and it started basically pulling resources from my body. The baby aspirin will hopefully thin the blood enough over the next 5.5 weeks to help every last capillary in the placenta grow.
New feels? Well at first I was panicking a bit thanks to OB, but MFM has made me feel much better. We have a strategy going forward, so I'm hopeful we can get 2.0 to term.
Next appointment/follow up: I have to drop off the pee jug on Monday, then my NT is scheduled for April 3rd and next OB is April 12th.
Such interesting pree info!!!!!!!!! I am super glad I started aspirin ASAP. Now I want to see my hospital reports from delivery even more. I was so drugged I don't remember much of anything.

Interesting! I had pre-e with DS but it came on late (after 36 wks). I told my OB about it but she didn't seem concerned--maybe because DS made it to almost 39 wks? I see her on Tuesday and I'm going to ask about baby aspirin. This OB is new to me and seems pretty breezy about everything, which is NMS. 😒

bootsorhearts ob hasn't started her on it either. She won't until 12wks. It's possible they are waiting until then? I am SUPER proactive in my maternity care this time around. Between the extreme pree and the m/c and infertility, I am trying to keep on top of all my risk factors and being diligent to ensure my health is priority. The moment my pee stick had a faint line, I was on the phone with the ob scheduling appointments and asking about aspirin. Pree was hell. And whatever I can do to help avoid it is my plan!

Interesting. My MFM at my pre-conception consult had me start baby aspirin immediately and I kept taking it throughout my last pregnancy. My pre-e came on very suddenly and very early so that may be a factor...

I'm sorry you all had to go through pre-e... I don't have experience with pre-e but after having 3 miscarriages after my second baby, I was told by my MFM to start baby aspirin once I finally got pg with #3. I'm convinced it helped me during that pregnancy so I started it again as soon as I found out I was pg this time. I swear by that stuff!
How was it? It was pretty short but good. Got to hear the HB on the Doppler for a short period of time. We found it for a bit then lost it and couldn't pick it back up. Kid must be stubborn already.
What did you expect? Not much. I knew it was going to be just checking vitals and the doppler.
Yeah I don't know why I am starting baby aspirin late maybe because my pre e didn't kick in until 30 weeks or so last time?
My H asked his friend who is an ob-gyn resident at a big teaching hospital and he says starting it at 12 wks is the recommendation they go by (I think unless it was extreme?) I plan to ask my OB on Tuesday!
