teachermomtobe,I did not. I felt like crap after giving birth so one less thing putting pressure on my sore body. I lost all my baby weight quickly though and breastfeeding really burns the calories and made my tummy pretty flat.

teachermomtobe I did not, but some of my friends who had C-sections did and said they loved the extra support and it helped them not to feel like their guts were about to fall out.
None for me either teachermomtobe. There's enough going on with my body post birth for me to not even consider something that may not be totally comfortable
I did. I used the bellefit corset and i loved it. It helped 'put everything back together' when everything kind of felt floating around in there. I definitely believe it helped get my pp shape and weight back. Will be using again.
Didn't use a belly binder. Like everyone else said, my whole body was so sore after birth and the thought of wearing one sounded awful to me. With breastfeeding, drinking TONS of water, and watching what I ate my body lost weight pretty quickly right away. But everyone's body is different.

How did you figure out sizing while pregnant? Or did you purchase after you had your baby? I'm definitely not against trying one since I will probably need help after baby#3 but I feel like maybe I should measure and order after I have the baby.

Ok so. Full disclosure. I bought 2. I was solidly in a M immediately following birth and was in a S by 3 weeks PP. I wore it regularly for 6 weeks. I am a size 6/28 pre pregnancy. I've seen some pop up on BST sites on FB.
I did not do any belly binding after my first pregnancy. It probably would have looked weird - my hips stayed really wide for a few weeks (couldn't get my regular sized pants over them at all), so if I had a smaller belly it would have looked unbalanced. Do they make butt binders? 😂
I bought one but I didn't use it. I just couldn't think about anything else at the time, although in hindsight it seems silly that I couldn't put something around my waist. Ha.
What's the deal with kick counts? I've read they're a thing to keep in the back of your mind after a certain point. What is that point? And what is "normal" for movement by then? I keep reading different things.

I used the abdominal binder that the hospital gave me. It was the only way I could actually stand or walk for weeks.
It was really supportive.
After that I used a smaller one a friend passed over and it was ok. I'm glad I didn't buy the corset thing as I would not have been able to use it. But I will this time if everything goes well.
I did buy the c panty compression things and really liked those later. Confession: I wore them until I got pregnant again.

I heard 28 weeks is when patterns of movement should be fairly regular. I have read mixed things about doing kick counts if you are not high risk. I plan to ask my OB. I did download kick count apps when I was having a crazy day and she was fine. I think it's 10 movements in 1-2 hours of you laying quietly.

That's my ob's rec too. 10 movements in 2 hours after 28 weeks. Only do them when the baby is normally active or you will drive yourself crazy. I personally generally followed the rule of making sure that she was active regularly instead of counting movements.

marshian they're basically for third trimester, and they can make you crazy if you focus on them too much. For me, the baby was active pretty consistently around certain times of the day, so if it felt like he wasn't moving as much, I would drink some cold water/juice, lie down, and do a kick count. But for the most part, I only did them if the baby was acting differently than what I was used to.
My first baby was less active so I did regular kick counts. But my son and this baby are super active so I will only do them if I notice less movement.
Thanks, everyone! For me at 26 weeks tomorrow, baby has some active days and some quiet days. And not really consistent in the time of day when active, either. But we have a doppler at home so the one day baby was quiet and making me anxious I just pulled that out.

If I realize I haven't felt the baby all day, I'll drink something sugary and relax for a bit. If I feel the baby start to wiggle, I figure it's all good and I just wasn't paying attention to her earlier movements.
I also used the abdominal binder from the hospital. On our tour one mom asked if they had them and we were told no (by a nurse). But I asked a doc who came to check on me and he happily went down and got me one. (Reminder I was a c-section mama) I was told by numerous people to ask for one especially if I had a c-section because it helped make it feel like your insides weren't falling out.
I also used the hospital binder post c-section, and then the belefit when it fit. I just guessed my size from their sizing directions. I also already had a smaller corset that I wore later on. The binding helped me get my shape back even though the extra weight didn't come off quickly. I definitely felt like it was necessary for my body. I don't have a strong core naturally and those muscles needed the reminder. I will be doing it again.
Those of you doing disposable diapers- how many of each size are you planning on getting before hand? With C I never built up a stash. I only had what was given to me at my baby shower (which really wasn't a whole lot). I figured since we will have 2 in diapers I should work on building up my stash. I currently have: (P-pampers, h-Huggies) Newborn P: 88 H: 32
Size 1's P: 100 H: 70
Size 2's P: H: 130
Size 3's P: H:
Size 4's P: 50ish H:
Size 5's P: 250ish
C is in 4s now. The 5a are for him. Off brands did not work well for C, so I'm avoiding them for this one as well. I'm also signed up for Amazon subscribe and save, I will get the case of size 1 pampers (216 count) on Monday. Trying to figure out when I should switch it over to size 2s. I can't really base off of C because he was in newborn longer than most since at 1 month he was almost a full pound under his birth weight. Once we figured out his eating (lack there of for nursing) he stared gaining like he should have been.

I'm having a hard day, any STM's experience with slowed growth where baby ended up growing again/ having a growth spurt. Baby is falling off the growth curve/ placenta is thickening and I'm super stressed. Going for an NST tomorrow (already have weekly ultrasounds). Somehow this has become a vent in a question
Me: 29 DH: 35 NTNP since May 2013 charting since June 2014 dx: Graves disease (radioactive iodine), Crohns disease (abdominal surgeries) MMC October 2015 (9 weeks) Severe MFI diagnosis July 2015
sabrinaml here was my diaper stockpile list with DD. I didn't buy any 1s or 2s after this, that I can remember. We moved through 2s fairly quickly. DD was 9.4 so we could use 1s right away.

pinecone21marshian, thanks, I've been super upset about it all afternoon. My body is truly terrible at being pregnant, I feel like I'm letting the baby/DH down
