Ugh. Annoying. Most of the time it just feels like my uterus tightening, which isn't as bad or annoying.
I'm supposed to go sit at a recruitment event all afternoon and I realllllllly want to blow it off and lay down instead. Bleh.
I'm flying with DD on Sunday - just occurred to me that I might need to provide documentation for her at the airport? Should I bring her birth certificate? We are flying domestically on JetBlue and I purchased her a seat. Someone help me.
Doesn't hurt to bring her birth certificate but it isn't required.
I'm having lots of sharp, twingy type cramps today, like all day. I'm guessing these are BH (although they feel different than the ones I've been feeling), but they're super annoying and they're making me just want to go home and lay down...boo.
Sorry they are making you want to go lay down. Hugs 🤗
Last week, H and I had a review of our finances. We seem to be in a decent place but he saved the kicker for last - we spend a ridiculous amount of money on eating out. We don't spend a lot of money on other things but we really could be doing a lot better. So now I'm trying to figure out a good system to keep us on budget. I'm thinking of using a separate credit card just for eating out so that we can more easily keep track of how much we've spent each month. And then I spiraled on new credit cards with better cash rewards than what I've got now.

I think we spend way too much eating out, too. I really wish I knew what a "normal" amount was for two people, but I guess there really is no normal. When I was single I had two checking accounts each with debit cards- one for bills, gas, groceries, etc, and one just for "fun money" including eating out. Each pay I transferred a set amount into that "fun" account and when it ran out, I didn't eat out anymore. It worked really well for me, but I tried it with H and it just doesn't work for him.

Thanks ladies! I'll be over my pity party soon. It's just a mean trick the universe played on us. The odds that many positions would come up exactly when we needed them too was very low. So I figured at least one would work out.
I agree with you but the really odd thing is that the Tampax instructions say to drop it down the toilet (at least they did when I read them the first time around years and years ago). Now I'm off to Google to see if they still do
Just googled. Playtex says to flush them! Guess this is really a thing. Wow, I had no idea!
No offense meant to anyone who does flush. I just thought it was standard practice to toss in the garbage. My mind is blown.
I am late, but it would never occur to me to flush a tampon.
akraus2015, I am kind of embarrassed to disclose the amount. I mean, it included groceries and our CSA, so all food costs, but I know eating out cost is disproportionately high.
I like using credit cards for everything for the rewards but I think we'll set ourselves a monthly budget and keep an eye on the balance to make sure we don't go over it. I think just being able to easily see how much we've spent so far on a more regular basis will help us stay more reasonable. Seeing the lump sum amount at the end of the year was eye-opening.

There definitely is no normal. If you exclude pizza Friday's (we get take-out pizza every Friday), MH and I eat out on average once or less than once a month. My friend at work and her H eat out 3+ times a week.
MH and I don't want to spend the money. Friend and her H don't want to spend the time cooking.

I finally broke down and called the project manager to get a fucking timeline for the rest of the project. They're coming to install the rest of everything (vanity, medicine cabinet, built in shelf, etc) today. So I just need to pick out a faucet & a mirror tomorrow (no chance in hell thats happening today). So busy.
But then we'll just be waiting on the shower doors to arrive (custom order due to size).

Definitely no set "normal". We spend a fair amount on eating out even when we only eat out max once a week (and usually much less) because we like to go to somewhere that's a little more upscale and make it a nice night out. Plus we're in Chicago, so it's already more expensive.
H actually told me we needed to eat out more this past year because with the baby on the way he suspects (and is probably correct) we will eat out less, especially at first, and also because more of our budget will be going toward childcare.

Thank. Goodness.
Glad it's almost done and it looks good! This would all drive me batty.
PirateCat, we also eat out way too much. We're trying to do better, but the ease of it is our downfall (and we both enjoy food). We actually just signed on with a financial advisor so I'm hoping our budgeting gets better in general.
This week has been insane. H almost got stuck up north with the storm, and I ended up having to drive a 4 hour roundtrip to get him from a different airport. Work has been nuts, and [what I assume are] BH are driving me crazy. I finally took a half day today just to catch my breath.

Could it be RLP? I remember it coming back more than a few times during pregnancy.

I was going to say this too. RLP is hitting me harder now at 26 weeks than ever. Mostly when walking first thing in the morning.

I budget our groceries separately, and we've been doing much better since I've been pregnant because we don't meet friends for happy hour nearly as much and I don't have an additional $15-30 worth of wine tacked onto our dinner bill these days, but I can still very easily blow past $100/wk every single week on eating out.
It's stuff like fancy brunch every weekend and getting home late in the evenings and grabbing carry out that kills us. I've been trying to be really intentional in meal prep and planning to help cut down on it a little bit.
Anyway, if you have any magic tricks for being more disciplined, send your suggestions my way!!

Hi y'all! I got tied up all morning and again got nothing money making done...I wanted to go to smash burger, been thinking of it since OSW talked about it. But I needed to do work bc I got out of court so late this morning so I went to panera instead. Major sadz. I'm just going to work here for a couple hours and then I have acupuncture.
I used to flush tampons...until I bought my own house and didn't realize I shouldn't here and had to pay about $200 to get pipes unclogged. Lesson learned.
TTC since July 2014. CP March 2015. IVF #1 March 2016, 5R, 3M, 2F with ICSI. Transferred 2 on day 3. CP. Surprise BFP and then CP August 2016 (prep cycle for IVF). IVF #2: zero eggs retrieved IVF #3: 6R, 5M, 5F, 3 (2 8A and 1 11A) transferred, one "B" graded embryo frozen on day 5. BFP (at home 7dp3dt, confirmed 14dp3dt with 1552 beta) and U/S at 5w5d, 2 sacs and 2 yolks!

I can definitely tell the difference between these and RLP. RLP is a bitch and usually really hurts!!

Haha, that is certainly not a conversation that would ever happen in our house. But yea, we figure we will naturally eat out less when the baby is here but we also need to save some money between now and then to cover some of the extra baby expenses. Ugh, adulting.

Hi ladies!
DH and I are attempting to sleep in shifts today. We spent the night in the ER with H who threw up everything she ate yesterday and had no wet diapers. So we are exhausted but I think a good long sleep will help. DH is sleeping now so I'm on baby duty.
I kind of don't know where I belong on TCF now. I hope it's ok if I just keep playing here.

I wish I had some magic tricks! I think our plan is just to look at how much we are spending on a more regular basis than once a year. It was really helpful to sit down and review it but we just need to be more aware throughout the year so we can make adjustments.

I'm sorry to hear about the ER trip. I hope H is doing better today.
And yes play here! I don't "go" here either but I like hanging out here so I'm staying. You should too!

I like Mint.com. You can set budgets by category and see where your money goes. Most transactions get categorized correctly automatically so I think it's a helpful tool.
akraus2015, I hope your pains go away. So frustrating. I think I'm having RLP too.
I also second the meal planning. It makes such a difference when H and I do that at the start of the week. We just got our new freezer in today so we'll start prepping soon

Mint is great, but it overwhelms me. H built a color coded spreadsheet that has helped us ease into it. I hope to work up to Mint.
I also need to figure out the whole credit card thing. I want one with better rewards, and I also want to change banks. But that requires effort.
